I dont normally subscribe after only seeing 1 video for specific reasons but you definitely put the work in and take lots of pride in your work. Youve earned my subscription
Fimbulwinter also brings a good twist or change to each realm, the long winter being exclusive to Midgard and the other realms have been affected in different ways. It'll be really cool to see each of the 9 in their full display and detail
i can't wait for ragnarok, it just amaze me how santa monica packed the first game with so much content easily 60 hours plus of gameplay, ragnarok will probably be well over 100 hours
Imagine in Ragnarök the only for Kratos to get to Asgard is by dying. And so he purposely looses a battle and the valkeries come to take him to Asgard to meet Odin. And then Odin’s like “bruh”.
@@SuperTuberEddiePlays me to, but I’ve gotta wait till it comes out on pc unfortunately. I only got to place the first GOW recently, hands down one of the best games I’ve ever played.
I don’t have a pc so I can’t play god of war, but I have played ark before and in a fan made map called fjordur and it has the realms Midgard being where the adventure starts and vanaheim, yotunheim and Asgard. Svartelheim also exists as a modded map to play, but I think it’s written and very often pronounced as svartelfheim.
Oooo you think so. Possible. Only thing is the other Vanir now hate freya for teaching odin their magics. It is possible that freyr also sees her as a bad person now too 🤷♂️
FYI we dont know if the eagle is Hraesvelgr, as there is another eagle in hel in norse mythology that 1. has no name and 2. is one of three birds that signal ragnarok. I believe the other two are in Asgard and Jotunheim.
Bro I just completed this game again for a 3rd time and after this last time I've only realized how fucking small the game was. I'm really hope this next game can fill in the blanks I hope we see more npcs the world felt empty and lonely and other then fighting Valkyries after the story your literally walking in an empty Midgard. I know most God of war games have been like this but after this last game I'm sure they made so much money to invest in a more immersive and engaging game with more life around instead of just having an empty world doesn't make sense even if they had like random animal life running around I wouldn't even be bothered. I loved the story so much I played it 3 times and because of that I never noticed how empty and short the game was. I hope we get more out of the new game even tho it will have an amazing story as well I hope they fill in those blanks.
technically it's not there. The Norse mythos and Greek Mythos are like religions and each thing they are the only one so there is no space for them. the blending of the green god and norse gods in God of War 2018 is completely original and unknown. if you was to ask a developer/writer they would likely say "they exist parallel but not in the world tree." 🤷♂️
The giant bird you see in Helheim is one of three birds that will signal for the battle of Ragnarok. One is in Asgard, one is in Jotunheim, and one is in Helheim.
I just find it funny that people think the 9 realms are each their own thing when they're all on the same plane of existence and they're not infinite, they're about the size as Germany and or Denmark.
this is incorrect in God of war, they mught bot be infinite but they are certainly massive in scale. so I guess you're partly right. Greece and Norway exist in their own worlds confirmed by the creators but Kratos can still sail to Norway but once he goes ashore then magic comes into play as he walks into a different dimension all together because Tyr didnt travel by boat but by magic. Greeces mount olmpusis seperate from the actual olympus and so is Hell and so on. its just magic that seperates the 2 like how on earth we cant set foot in the heavens because its a higher realm
They messed up bad by not making this a trilogy.. like bad.. we barely scratched these worlds in 2018.. now we have to wrap it all up one 1 game that they say takes 30 hours or so to beat?? This game is going to begin instantly in the thor fight then 1 mission in each world then fight Odin game over.. like this is going to suck yall.. this sucks.. I was instantly bummed out when they said they finishing this in one game… whats next?? One game were we go mess with Egyptian gods?? This is the end of god of war.. this is it! They had one chance to make this right and give us 2 more epic games because we all know this is it.. we not going to mess with any other gods.. like if we got 2 more games there would of been time to explore the history of Olympus.. like what happened with kratos past.. like now there is absolutely no time for stuff like that.. there no time for anything.. soon as this games starts it’s going to be boss after boss after boss story end… idk yall it still going to be fun but there no way they have enough game to flesh this story out properly.. game industry will always screw is over..
Not sure who designed the realms in this game, but aside from Midgard and southern Vanaheim, the aesthetics are pretty bad. Jotunheim, in particular, looks like actual vomit. Like a giant threw up, and they molded the entire realm out of it. It's pretty gross. Don't get me wrong. There are some areas that look pretty cool, but they're few and far between. Sindri's house is good, but for the most part, the environments in this game are nothing to write home about. My hope is that whoever they hire to design the environments in the next game will have a better eye for aesthetics.
It's not Surtr, it's Sutr. And is where the word Soot aka Ash comes from. And Freya is meant to be Odins wife, and also help the dead go to the other part of Asgard for the people who died by old age or sickness etc which u mentioned. But God of war.. as usual got it completely wrong. Cos Odins other wife, Frigg, was Baldrs mother.. not Freya. They're two different women. God of war got it massively wrong. And Freya didn't have a brother.. she was like a trans person of sorts.. like Loki, she could change gender.. so the story says. That is the way of the Vanir. They can change gender and to other creatures too. And the other word u couldn't pronounce is Gunng in the gap.. cos it was described as a massive gap between worlds by Odin, and pronounced Gunn like Gungnir, the spear of Odin Also Angrboda, mistress lover of Loki, mother of Fenrir and Jorrmangandr was a Jotnar, meaning a frost giant, one of the larger Jotuns (not all Jotuns were big) and in God of War she's a Muspell.. Hence the black skin.. But they're both way too young to have had the children yet.. and they also haven't met yet ffs 😂 God war should have did their own story with all new characters. Instead of completely massacring mythology and mixing it up so much that it no longer makes sense. But that being said it's a fun game and I can't wait for the new one to release. I just prefer the original norse mythology. The one that makes sense.
This might only be me...but I've been more accustomed with the idea that Svartalfheim is the home of the Dark Elves and Nidavellir is the home of all Dwarves. I'm ALSO more accustomed to Dwarves and Dark Elves NOT being the same group of creatures, as so many have claimed. For one things, Dwarves look nothing like Elves of any sort due to their height differences and the fact Dwarves have beards
As a norseman, and fan of Norse Mythology, everytime I hear someone refer to the Jotnar as "giants" a part of me dies inside. I know GoW is not an accurate representation of Norse Myth, and it is kinda it's own universe loosly based on it, and it is amazing, but the fact that so many people still mistakening refers to the Jotnar as giants in general and even continues to create various media which further spreads this misconception, kills me inside. The Jotnar are very fascinating creatures, and calling them giants is not only a gross insult to what they actually represents, but it's just flat out wrong. Obviously this is not your fault, and as I said, the game is incredible, and I love it to death, but I will always be upset about the whole "giant" mistake people keep making.
ngl youre being overly offended. people arent saying giant meaning size, they are saying giant meaning just the name of the race. come on dude its not a big deal Edit: it's not even a mistake, its people calling the race what the game calls them, which is already a spin on og mythology
@@dom20141 Which is wrong, Jotnar is the name of their Tribe, not giant, and they are not a race, they are tribe. And if you are a fan of Norse Myth is it a big deal, cuz refering to them as giants when their name have nothing to do with that, is offensive. It's like someone who like football, and someone keeps mistaking the players for baseball players.
@@Lupinemancer87 Jotnar literally translates to giant in english. Besides, many giants ARE giant in mythology, take the world serpent for example. Your sports comparison doesn't work either. This is merely a translation that somehow bothers you. If someone called me by my name after translating it to their native tongue I wouldnt be offended lmfao. Also, every source I found called the giants a race, not a tribe.
