Love how he throws the trident around him just like he does as Ganon in the 2D games. Its the little references like this that really make this game feel like such a labor of love from the devs.

I love the Trident moveset. It's Speed and Devasting power fit Ganondorf oh so well!

One of the better weapons for sure, but for the hardest fights i still prefer the cheezeness of the Greatswords, if it wasn’t for being able to charge their C1 bar for free then the Trident would be vastly superior.

Any chance you could start uploading 2 of your Hyrule Character guides a day? Maybe when the FE characters reach their end? I got the game recently on Switch and am having trouble getting used to some of trickier characters like Agitha and Ghirahim. Anyways, thanks for all the guides! Your Sheik video was a life saver, I had no idea she had a whole song mechanic until I watched your video (and I've been playing since Wii U's launch lol.)

I dunno, even though it looks cool and he attacks really fast, I can't get into Trident Ganondorf. Dont't get me wrong he's still a solid pick but I prefer the swords. He does a lot of stuff but nothing particularly well. I usually go by few criteria: Duelling other commanders, getting the weakness points from bosses down, killing masses of enemies quickly, capturing keeps quickly. He doesn't really stand out in any of those. That's why trident ganondorf is just an above average warrior in my opinion.

Believe it or not, I actually hate the trident. I think that it's one of the worst weapons in the game. It has a few key issues, including a lackluster damage output, very few AoE damage, and a huge startup time, which is actually a bit longer than normal if you start attacking directly out of a dash. Not sure if the devs missed this or if it was intentional, but for some reason, if you attack with Ganon's trident during a dash, he comes to a conplete stop and does his standing animation for quite a few frames before beginning the animation for his first attack. This is very weird since with every other character, thet don't have all those extra frames. They just go straight from their dash animation to their attack animation (the frames of standing may still exist, but if they do, they last for far less time). You'd think this wouldn't be that big of a deal, but it is. It means that, in many situations, opponents will be able to hit Ganondord before he can attack. It also mskes him feel a lot clunkier than he should. He's a fast character, so why he has the literal slowest startup out of a dash is such an enegma to me. Also the fact that he can't dodge cancel any of his combos is a huge problem too. This weapom should be one of the best in the game, but it is so functionally broken that it sadly falls short conpared to most of the rest of the cast. Imo, it is the worst lightning weapon in the entire game, even losing out to Linkle's boots.
