I just wanted to say I've watched all of your videos now and you've really helped give me confidence to slowly introduce small, peaceful fish (and shrimp!) into my tank, thankyouuu
Thank you for highlighting killifish! Killifish of west africa in particular are my favourite fish in the hobby and I never cared much about breeding fish until I was introduced to these little charmers. I want more people to fall in love with them! These are truly a fish where distinct personalities are noticeable :) I still don't understand why these are not more common in the hobby! For those who can't find them in stores, let it be known their eggs might be available to you -- many killifish species, including this one, have evolved to produce eggs that exist (if not anticipate) existing in dry conditions for a prolonged period of time, thus enabling shipment of eggs in peat or what have you. I found the fry for killis I've RAISED (both aphyeosemion genus -- haven't had a blue lyretail/fundulopanchax gardneri yet) to be pickier as fry than as adults but ymmv of course
That’s something I’m definitely going to try soon as I’ve seen some sellers on eBay offering killi eggs in peat… just need to pluck up the courage and risk buying a bag of dirt 😅
I haven't seen sticklebacks in years! I used to catch them in a local pond with a little net when I was a kid but I cant remember the last time I saw any wild or for sale! I would keep some though, just for curiosity sake .
My gardner almost bit my guppies tale of it was a female endler guppy and she was not fully grown yet but already pretty big i had to take her out an treat her poor thing idk if she will make it
Hi. I’m considering a pair in a 125 liter but that would put them with tetra’s (rummies, black neons and embers) hence food competition. I feed fish with flakes and pallets in the water surface so that it sinks and its not floating on the surface. Would that work with these fish? My main flow is at the surface and I have a lot of floating plants. Thx for advice/suggestions.
