Tropical Seductions Yes. I never had one all these years. I’m collecting more An’s and want to treat them right. I like the height and size of this one. I will definitely let you know how I like it. Thanks for sharing. Your collection is Bomb by the way.
Thank you for talking about the Itvanila humidifier. I had never heard of it. I had some problems with the Levoitt. It was spitting water all over my floor. I called their customer service and they said to clean it with bleach. It died after that. I got the Air Innovations after seeing Heart Shaped Leaves video. I like the large water capacity. It almost has the nozzle, which I think helps to distribute the mist, but the Itvanila looks stylish. That would be great in the living room or kitchen. Thank you!
A lot of people living in places like Florida etc don’t have a humidifier. If you know your home provides enough humidity without a humidifier it is not necessary. You could to give your plants extra attention while misting them with a water bottle every now and then.
Great work. Your videos are fantastic. I've always wondered with pebble trays. Why the need for pebbles or rocks? Is there a reason lime something for the plants to sit on? or any difference between one to just a bowl of water? I keep pots of water in my greenhouse and mist each morning and get a steady 60-80%. This winter (Australia) I will be using a humidifier for the plants I bring inside.
Love the video!! I was wondering for how long should I run the humidifier? I have a monstera adansonii, alocasia polly, and a rex begonia. Thank you in advance to anyone that can help!
It depends on where you live what is the weather like ? Is it dry ? Sun shining etc. I have mine running usually from somewhere between 11am till 6pm Cause I get sun light into in these hours so I have running nonstop during that time
Cool, love this video. I was wondering what kind of timer you have your humidifier on? I have the levoit too. I just let mine run until it runs out of water and then fill it up and let it run again. It’s not always back to back but should I be timing it?
Yay Hi Lindsay!!!! I only use the mist settings 1-3. All other settings are not necessary for me cause I work at home. So basically the same I let it run until night time or until it runs out of water. I would use the humidity or timer setting if I would go on a trip so that it automatically turns of when it reaches 70 and back on when it drops so you can have the humidifier running for as long as possible.
Great video! I used to have my humidifiers on full blast 24/7 similar to your set up. But started to have mold issues so I had to amend my routine. Have you had issues with mold?
Real Plant Diaries I have the fan running and usually at least one window open to create air circulation to prevent it. For the sake of the video I had the windows closed. But I know of people who had mold issues.
Thx for the clarification! Yeah the mold issue didn't appear until winter. Open windows def help! I've been tweaking my set up to keep my plants happy and minimize mold.
I have increased my humidity natural way and using humidifier I end up getting a problem my plants did get happy but I end up getting mold spores all over my house . So now I only have one humidifier that working rightnow .
Thanks for the great information! What is an ideal temperature to set a humidifier to that should keep my plants satisfied? Is 90 % uncomfortable to live in at times? I would like to set my plants up in the corner of my living room next to a window. I come from dry desert climate, so the air is fairly dry, but I want to keep them happy. Does the temperature of my home matter as well? I would assume so, but what would that be like? Right now it still gets kind of cold in my home, but the summers are very hot and dry and that will be happening soon. I am just unsure as to where to start with a humidifier, I don’t want to jump in and make assumptions and kill my plants. Thanks!
hello, love the video, what percent do you recommend the humidity to be in the room for the plants, but also doesn’t cause bad mold issues (there is a fan on most the time)
if you have a fan on all the time you can do 70% which is ideal for Tropical Plants. I have all my plants in extreme loos soil with almost no soil dirt. So watering is like a rainy day thats why I personally aim for 70-90%
How long do you leave the humidifiers on? Every what time of the day do you have to turn it on or you have them on all day all night? I have 4 humidifiers that i bought recently, i turned all them on all day but the top soil started to create molds, so i decided to jist turn them on only around 6pm-9pm until i figure out how long and when do i leave them on. Please let me know if you have any ideas thank you!
Add a fan into your room doesn’t need to be a fancy one. It helps with air circulation and dries water that sit on the surfaces. I turn them on in the morning until the sun goes down. I personally do not run humidifiers by night l. Hope that helps
Dracaena like higher Humidity levels but they are very hardy. They grow and thrive in Natural Room humidity which can be between 40%-60%. There are Humidity readers on amazon for as low as $6-10 so you can read the humidity in your rooms
Did you check the leaves for pests? And the soil for overwatering? Of the soil has been wet for a few days definitely check the roots to see if root rot might be the issue
