Can we just appreciate for a moment that for his Dash he rides a giant Salmon made of Water? That's just extra Style points for what is already the most Stylish character in the roster.
I assumed it was a shark because it seems that the consensus is that he is a shark type zora or something. At least I have seen tons of people call him a shark.
*Me: all the characters have cool unique actions. Mipha teleports, Link shoots arrows, Impa makes clones etc. I wonder what Sidon will do since he's so strong. *Sidon: OSU
Actually in his 6th strong attack not only does the last part of boundless optimism force out enemy weak point gauges, every strike of optimism forces it out so you can completely destroy a bosses weak point gauge. Combine it with his post game ability, and no boss will be able to knock him out of wrecking their weak points.
that's why I personally think Sidon is better than Teba, at the very least for very hard the horrific spam is just way easier and less dangerous for your fingers than teba's arrow barrage
Once I unlocked his last two combos and that postgame upgrade, everything finally clicked for me and Sidon became my main. That being said, I still managed to learn things in this video, so thank you so much for this guide (and all the others you’ve been doing too)! Fantastic job~
I was kind of put off at first when playing Sidon. I couldn't quite get him right. But DAMN when you finally get used to him, he's probably the best character to play with. I boosted his trident with strong attack badges and he's a MONSTER. I figured Dyruk would be the strongest but he's so slow. Sidon is crazy fast and impossibly powerful. I think the game designers did this as a nod to his voice actor who is also the director for all of the voice acting in the game AND he is an legend at Nintendo. Plus he was such a favorite from BOTW. He's so friggen cool! Thanks Nintendo for giving more reasons to simp for Sidon.
The kind of character who aims to never disappoint, oddball he may be effective he remains to be seen. The unique action being generous speaks to me as him letting you fire off to shine as much as he can. Had fun playing as him though it was of a bad habit not letting him smile as often.
Ah, my favourite BotW character, and one of my main characters in this game. He's an utter blast to play after I got used to his quirks. How can you not like a playstyle that lets you go surfing as their dash?
Sidon is such a big fucker, i swear. He's big enough to stand about the same size as a lynel, not to mention he's also possibly bigger than freaking Daruk. DARUK, A FUCKING GORON, STANDS MAYBE A HEAD OR TWO BELOW THE TALL FISH HUSBANDO
With Sidon you don’t need Stasis. His C6 spam is enough to spam WPG Attacks And his Bomb Rune is great. It may miss but a single bomb has more AoE than Link’s or Yunobu’s all 4 and can destroy both Talus Arms with just one blast
1:16 I was quite sad that you didn't actually reverse the camera for this section, but then he turns towards us in the strong attacks and everything was fine. XDDDD
2:53 it should be noted that Sidon has the shortest Stasis that you can dodge-cancel out of; although, this is not really an issue considering his C6 can shread through weak-point gauges.
Bokoblin: "Guuhhh.... Boss, there's a Fishy completely destroying us." Moblin: "How?! All you idiots had to do was kill that one Zora princess!" Bokoblin: "Yessshhh, well.... The Fishy bashing our heads was called..... uhhhh... 'Shidoon', i think?" Moblin: "Wait.... You mean 'Sidon'?" Bokoblin: 'That's the nam- BOSS, WHY ARE YOU RUNNING?!" Moblin: "MAY THE GREAT GANON SAVE US! DO NOT PURSUE SIDON!"
One detail you seem to have missed is that his stasis rune effects one of his tridents, if you don't cancel the animation he will build up momentum on it with the other trident so that he can launch himself forward by grabbing onto the trident when the stasis runs out. This doesn't effect gameplay if you cancel the animation though.
Also, the thing can often do a good bit of weak point shredding all on its own. It hits so many times at once that it's honestly impressive how fast the weak point can go down.
I feel like the video maker made a bit of an mistake when explaining Sidon's Stasis; What happens is that he locks the enemies in place, along with one of his tridents, swings his free trident against said enemies and trident to build up momentum, then grips the locked trident to lunge/attack forward once stasis lock ends. Just something i noticed inherently while watcing the animation
Anyone noticed how the giant fish he used looks like a giant Salmon? It kinda makes sense not just because he’s a Zora and it made sense to have fish and water themed attacks, but because he’s a Zora prince and descended from the Zoran people that cherished the Reekfish, which considered to be sacred to them. The reekfish also resembles the sockeye salmon. The Coral Earring is vital to catching them in Twilight Princess, and who gives Link the earring? A Zora prince, Ralis. It’s most likely a coincidence but it’s fun to think about.
Sidon's empowered C5 can open WPG too. And since it leaves a tornado that deals a bit of damage multiple times over a few seconds, this tornado immediately starts whittling down the WPG. You can almost spam empowered C5 on elites and bosses to stun-lock them because a tornado hits them right before they launch their attack on Sidon. Like many people here, Sidon quickly became my favorite character.
Sidon's empowered C5 will force out enemy weak points as well as his empowered c6. C5+ (easier than saying empowered constantly) is also really good at hitting Taluses' weak points. Oh, and you can cancel out of Sidon's bomb rune animation after the first one.
May i just add that his last strong attack can just stun lock the opponent? You can use stasis cancel out of it and start the combo and you can keep stun locking most enemies. No seriously i did this against all giant bosses and their works . Exept for dying enemies
Not just area cleaner he is a boss shredder. His C6 exposes and destroys weak points like paper and all of his strongs do ungodly damage with the boost. Additionally, the tornado of C5 also exposes weakpoint and holds the boss in place, so you can wail on it for a bit
So I don't know if it was just me but his 5th strong attack opens up Weak point gauges for large enemies. Or maybe the patched it out I don't know. I took a vid of it on my switch
I’ve actually had a few situations where Sidon’s final strong attack with attack speed will cause the game to hang. Not just slow down, but actually stop for a second
To think I’ve been trying too hard with this character. I thought that you had to time the unique action perfectly for when the inner circle matches with the outer one for it to work. Even when I was still thinking this, I still found him to be a great character to play as with a good balance of huge, area based attacks for trash mobs and focused attacks for dueling with captains, generals, and mini bosses.
Weirdly, my biggest complaint with him is that he's too easy to use. His gimmick is supposed to be that if you time ZR correctly you power up his moves, yet nothing prevents you from mashing the button to succeed.
@@Nosretep Teba Hurts my Fingers. Impa is just as good at Crowd clearing but Duels are not as good while Sidon can effortleesly force Weakpointgage every 2 Secs. Greatfarries is RNG Based and as such not that reliable for me. It's frustrating to get the right Fairy out like allways.
Ok, I am having an issue with Sidon's remote bombs. Either my controller is being weird and not registering or something is wrong with the game. It won't even let me hit ONE OF THEM Edit: Never mind, I was holding the R button which pretty much negates it 🤣🤣🤣🤣
