Thank you for the video. My problem is a dark mark the tape left behind on the wall. Not adhesive residue. I haven’t tried cleaning it yet. I want advice so I do not use the wrong product.

Thanks for sharing this. I was thinking of using my iron in medium heat instead, with a piece of cloth or paper between the wall and the iron. I hope one of the ways will work. Thanks again!

Thank you. Decided that the hair dryer was a bit of a pain (as there was no plug-in nearby,) so I substituted boiling water poured into a soup bowl for the heat of the hair dryer and dipped a paper towel into the bowl of steaming water. The heat was enough to remove the tape residue (it was as dark as earth) after applying not too much elbow grease. Would not have thought of applying a heat source, so l credit you with the solution, although I had used different materials. The residue is gone entirely. So, thanks.

Watch out for mold mildew and smoke stains underneath the tape. Can cause severe health issues.

the adesive you have must me shit cos i had hairdryer on for ten mins on one small spot, tried to scrape and it just smudged all over the wall, looks worse now, scraped harder, took the paint off, and the adesive was very soft, just still very sticky

use the hair dryer for 30 seconds to soften and then take a regular piece of clear tape and rub it against the spot. It will remove it clean.

Well yeah that tape was probably only put on the wall 30 seconds before he started recording. Yours might've been on there a year.

Helpful instructions but would have been better to have put the duct rape on a colored wall - the white on white is too hard to see any results imo

Hello! Very informative video, thanks! We just wrapped the house for a quick room renovation like that. Question: Is there any tip for removing the duck-tape off the walls? Because we had to remove some of it to rearrange it and the paint layer is coming out at several spots.

That might work with simple tape residue, but not with more extensive residue like Velcro, for example. That residue actually penetrates the paint and the only way to remove it would be to strip the paint off the wall or cut out the drywall and replace it.

I know this is 10 years old however i wanted to ask you if this will work with masking tape that's on painted trim as well? I'll be repainting after I get the residue off but the only thing I've had very little Success with is by erasing with a eraser but it takes a lot of eraser and elbow grease.
