The end of the Dawnbringer Crusades is nigh! Both tines of the Twin-Tailed Crusade have raised their cities against all odds. Embergard stands tall in Aqshy, a bulwark against the roving Bloodbound hordes, while Verdigris watches over the Gulf of Thorns in the Realm of Life. I like the new dwarves that they showed off. I really really really like dwarves, but the Fyreslayers and Kharadron Overlords all look identical (and I don't really like Berserkers or Sky Pirates). The more traditional dwarves are much more interesting. The Cities of Sigmar dwarves that they have now are ok, but they all have the same pose except the champion and musician. It would be great if CoS Dwarves are good in 4th edition. I've looked up the rules for Old World and the dwarves there act like proper dwarves. Unfortunately, I'm not thrilled about the Sylvaneth Warcy Warband. The big thing for me is that the dryads look just like the old dryads but with vine tumors growing out of them. The problem is those dryad models are from Warhammer Fantasy and they are really really old. I was hoping they would come out with new Dryad Models for 4th but it doesn't look like that will be the case. They're still cool, they're just the worst looking models in Sylvaneth. The new Slaves to Darkness leader looks absolutely sick. I'm not even gonna think about touching that model until I've improved my painting a lot though, lol.

I'm right there with you on dwarves. I actually wanted to play a dwarf faction when I first joined but like you I looked at fyreslayers and KO and I they were either too similar or too techy for my tastes. I didn't realize how old the dyrad sculpts are. Maybe it's because they are unfamiliar to me but I love these ones. I might need to pick up this box and have my wife paint the sylvaneth side 😁

I'm not super familiar with Slaves to Darkness so I looked up the Varanguard warscroll and holy cow, they do a lot! Seem super good, very cool!

I use audible for all my 40k lore and I know they have some AOS stuff as well. There is a monthly fee but also get one free book a month.

So they released a lot of Dawnbringers fiction on WarCom, which is cool, but do we know if it’s actually from the books? Like you, I’d love to have the story but I don’t want to buy a bunch of expensive hardbacks just for some lore.

Yeah 100% shorelessskies, I'm ok investing in a battletome for armies I like, but to get a series of hardbacks for lore is a tough sell.

I'm very new to the hobby. Just trying to figure out what I want to buy and paint. What is Warcry? Is this another game or are the models able to be used in that and Age of Sigmar?

Warcry is a separate game in the Age of Sigmar universe and the models in Warcry usually get Age of Sigmar rules pretty quickly so you can use them in both games. Warcry is a quicker skirmish game where you move individual models and games finish in under an hour. It's really fun! And there are rules for many of the Age of Sigmar models so you can use those in Warcry too.

@@PinkDevilFish The 4.0 launch box will be a really cool way for you and a friend to get into the game. You'd get the core rules, Skaven and Stormcast armies, the rules and cards for the Spearhead mode, and more. They haven't announced the exact details yet, but keep an eye out for it :)

I'm new to the hobby so I don't have a lot of perspective. But the subreddit for it is quite busy and my local store had 7 players at it last week.

tbh yes, there's a really big community of aos. it really depends on local preferences. in my store aos is the only full tabletop game played. and some olay some skirmish games of the 40k universe
