There’s no possible way for them to confirm the existence of the secret passage during the trial, unless monokuma let them leave like in thh trial 2. But there wasn’t a reason to assume the passage was there in the first place. Unless shuichi considered the secret room had multiple entrances... if only they investigated the bathroom man

@@elizaog Even with that in mind the door to the Mastermind's room was closing when Shuichi and the gang came into the library, you'd think that that would have been brought up... but I guess that was only done for the player to see. There was also the fact that Rantaro's Monopad was not found on his body, when the pictures had him holding his monopad. I don't remember anyone questioning that. Then there's also the fact that the dust was gone from the Mastermind's door. Even if Shuichi questioned the secret passages he would have had to do a perjury, which every trial does. So yeah, there was quite a bit that was glossed over. Heck if Shuichi was as experienced as Kirigiri(she thoroughly examined everything at the murder scenes)he may have even questioned the weight of the shot put ball and/or measured the impact on Rantaro's skull. Or you'd think that Kaede would have recognized the size difference, she did have a smaller shot put. But this all did go down mostly because Kaede had BELIEVED that she was the killer, and Shuichi did too, unfortunately. The real bummer is that Shuichi stopped going after the Mastermind after this until the very end of this game. The fact that he waited so many chapters went against what Kaede was trying to do in the first place. It was Kokichi who, ironically, plotted against the Mastermind after her death. And Angie who tried to avoid the killings at night.

@(Mintong) Mintong Li Oh did he, Interesting. Man it would have been cool to see where his character would have gone, his death definitely gave me a sour taste in my mouth.

@@anessaleonard730There was also the fact that the wound from the ball on Rantaro’s head was nearly impossible to hit from up above like Kaede suggested. Yes, the camera was placed in a way that he would be looking down to see it, but it’s still really too far down the back of his head to hit him anywhere but from behind. I think the force is a hell of a lot different too. Pushing vs throwing, even without the filter of the slide would have been unlikely to result in blood in the first place, certainly not in that really weird looking splatter which could only happen if it was thrown. And although they would not have been able to definitively prove that there was a secret passageway, it’s not unheard of a trial to technically be unsolvable. And why exactly would the mastermind leave their entrance to the group out in the open like that? The Ultimate Detective discovered it in a single day of being there. It wouldn’t have been a leap in logic for a character to suggest that there could be a secret passageway, even if there was no evidence to prove it. But yeah, I always imagined that, if what Tsumugi said was just a lie and that these characters were like the kids of previous ones and the killing game was being broadcasted to the future foundation that Kirigiri would have been sitting cringing during that trial because of how wrong they were. (And this Kyoko would have the added hindsight of knowing that secret passageways in killing games tend to be in girl’s bathroom- and oh, look, Tsumugi’s alibi)

I swear if her and Ryoma stayed a bit longer, V3 would be the easiest game yet. These two were smart asf and said exactly how Tsumugi killed him, but oh well.
