Didn't Ash use green balls when he went into the Safari Zone? If so, the anime said they were green before the games said they were cammo.

He used a green pokeball with an S on it, and the Pokeball from the footage that was played in the video doesn't have that. It could've been that they were just green with no S before that episode, but Bruno throws out an Onix with the ball, and Onix can't be found in the Safari Zone, and like I mentioned in the video Brenden carries that same ball. You're right the possibility does exist though! Nice observation! :D

it could also be so that the S on the safari ball is just a sticker maybe he tricked the people of the safari zone to like steal some safari balls and then saying this is a rare pokeball

it would be a nice feature in the game where you can edit your pokeballs similar to this where you can change its color and add a symbol on it. It would also be great to have all these anime exclusive pokeballs as a event where you get 1 GS ball, 1 of each pokeball from acient times, pikachu's ball, the starter balls and 10 or 20 of each normal pokeballs that only are seen in the anime.

THe Green PokeBall is INDEED the Safari Ball in the anime because in Gen 1 we didn't see other PokeBall designs in the games until the trading card game and stadium because of the trophies. Trust me remember the banned Safari Zone episode, Ash caught nothing but Tauros with all 30 of his, they just later swapped out all the balls with the Standard PokeBall.

I remember when I was young and watched Pokémon the first movie I was legitimately emotional throughout the last half of the movie. I know it’s a cartoon but for a moment I believed it. I did cry a little when ash was turned to stone I really thought ‘Game over man! Game over! He’s dead! And then was truly relieved when he came back to life. Although I still feel a little cheated that it didn’t actually count as happened when it really did. even now at 28 I still feel that way and I still enjoy it. It was my first self discovery of what i liked and what something my mom thought I’d like. And it’s what really was also my earliest anime experience.

My son turns 3 this week and he LOVES Pokemon!!!! I'm redoing his room while he's having his b.day party/weekend with my husband (I'll be "sick" and won't be able to go). I'm going to spray paint his bed frame and dresser white and draw out every pokeball and alot of other items. This video will be watched over and over and over all weekend for help lol. Thanks for the awesome video!!!

For the timeline issue. They never said the modern plain poke ball didn't exist till recent. There just were other variants that could have even been exclusive for one reason or another in the past. Even think of it in the way of tools. Throughout time there has been many different variations of tools in human history however some dating from way back look relatively close to some of our modern ones. Still there were always those VERY strange ones that popped up and went away in time despite the continuing of things like the hammer, saw, etc. Or think of things like swords. They have existed and looked the same since about the begging. There are also countless swords that are "extinct" for a lac of modern usability despite ones mimicking the originals still existing.

With the timeline- They may have been trying out a new kind of pokeball mechanic- with the 40 year pokeball that has a turning knob, but then decided that the much older 1,000 (Or more whatever) year pokeball styles were way better, and than switching it back to the way their ancestors made them. Also with the turning knob maybe it was meant to it was harder to get into the pokeball so that normal pokemon would not be able to exit as often? (In the view of the pokeball manufacturers, not the pokemon creators.) Or so it was harder to get open the pokeball, so regular/ wild pokemon could not open a caught pokemon by itself.

I love the genuine frustration over the ancient balls so much. Never change xDDD I would really love to see an option for some sort of ancient relic balls, maybe even with a gem that would become the color(s) of the pokemon inside's type(s) or something. I just really like pretty-looking pokeballs, and get sad when ones are very limited, hard to get a hold of, or not particularly practical for many uses.

The trainers didn't keep the Seaking they caught, and as for the Green Ball, it could be a reference to Red and Green, the first two games in Japan since the early anime Safari Ball was green with a white S on it. They did show the paintjob for the ones from the games in X and Y

In my opinion, I do think that the Lake Ball is made specifically to catch Seaking and only Seaking, and they're specifically designed to catch any Seaking.

the GS ball is not really anime exclusive. its used in the manga and unlike the games it has a purpose besides being scrapped potential.

fun fact about the GS Ball, it is not even a ball, it is a painted stone, ince when you use the ball in pokemon crystal japan, celebi just appears & does not come out of the ball itself
