Something to also keep in mind is that the Rogal Dorn Battle Tank's Ability can also blank Devastating Wound Attacks!

I absolutely love the basic battle tank. Those multi meltas become scary against vehicles once you add in lethal hits and the rerolls. It significantly increases your chances of those lethal hits. They do serious work. I'm currently bringing 1 Dorn, 1 Exterminator, and 2 Battle Tanks as my tank corps.

Hellhounds are great artillery support units that pair well with scout sentinels. They also pair well with exterminators and tank shock when using all flamers. I've one rounded the avatar of khane with a shadowsword, worth. I have not used a stormsword yet but they intrigue me. Rogal Dorns cook. I do however run them with triple stubber. Those standard meltas aren't worth if you're not using them for 2-3 turns. Those are my thoughts and this is a really good video. Thank you.

How many hellhounds do you field? I think they could work well when spammed?

For the "Baneblade" variants, my favorites are the Shadowsword and the Banesword, which i find way better than the standart Baneblade, with its Quake Cannon shooting at 72" too, but with a much more reliable D6+6 shots instead of 3D6, at a very good profile of 16 STR, -4 AP (with ignores cover) and flat 4 damage, and also at 480. Also, the rule is hilarious, making things explode on a 3+ if you kill it with the Quake Cannon. I have made titanic Knights, Silent King, C'Tans, Monoliths, other tanks and much more go Kaboom for so many mortals that my firend got PTSD, they are actually way more careful around my Banesword than my Shadowsword. Both are silly models, but they are beautiful and i love using them, i have been playing both a Shadowsword+Banesword (or just randomly pick 1, love both of them equally) + Solar and tons of kriegers since the start of the edition for my fun list, and while i dont win all the games, i have a blast on them all. Competitive i agree though, x2-3 Dorns seems to be the way to play now, i never had that much success with them though, not that they are not good in a vaccum, but there is some sort of curse on me and my Dorns trully hate me, each time i field them they decide to hit nothing, save nothing, and just explode a LOT. Also, love using Exterminators, i end up adding 1 or 2 to my more serious lists for that damage multiplier they apply. I also never use Tank Commanders, 205 pts just desnt feel right. And i like the normal Russ variant too, the in-build re-rolls are great and make it way more accurate than expected. I really hope one day there is a plastic Macharius, its so beautiful. If only the Vanquisher version had a couple of shots instead of 1, and kept the re-rolls to hit and twinlink, then i would seriously consider running one (when/if in plastic)

Hmm… given the definition you gave for a tank would an armor sentinel not count? That said great video! I was surprised to see the hellhound, that is why I asked about the armor sentinel too.

Yeah I guess so albeit a tank with only one weapon and not actually a tank 😁 that all said, its an amazing speed bump for your opponent to deal with with main problem being its limited damage output. I'd say the scout Sentinel is superior because of further movement and given out reroll 1s to hit for a target is a great synergy

I've gotten great utility from the BC Russ just because of it's capacity to act on it's own without an order from Leontus/TC, given the in built re-rolls to hit. It's great for coming in on Turn 3, on a flank, and perhaps assisting Scions with clearing an enemy objective that's got chaff on it. But otherwise, I'd happily run 3 x Exterminator Russes for their great damage output and ability.

Great idea on reinforcing a LRBT. I like the idea of supporting some scions in clearing off an objective. As full rerolls is essentially BS3

I know hellhounds are kind of disregarded but I'd argue the main gun is actually the Inferno Cannon. 2D6 Autohit, S6 AP2 D1 ignores cover is a very strong (but swingy) profile that puts every 2+ unit onto their usual 4++ save. It is S6 as well which means T9-11 vehicles are being wounded on 5s just like the melta cannon but you get a better profile against infantry/marines as well. Also I see the hellhound as a Bully Light-medium unit / "I need a few almost always confirmed wounds on something" + support unit so even if it isn't dealing 20damage in one volley, it is certainly causing headaches for my opponent and sometimes its deadly demise D6 causes even more problems for your opponent

I felt so freakin clever when I discovered the LR Exterminator / Fields of Fire / Hellhound combo where everything has 3 more AP against one target.... but all my friends play Knights, Admech, Sisters and Necrons and in some of those armies *literally* everything has an invuln, so -2 AP is the same as -7. And I have to get the world's specialest cogboy to get just one invuln, it's criminal I did run a game in TTS where I shoved as many Scions as I could into a Stormlord, the insane baneblade variant with 48 transport slots and firing deck 24, to have a single Solar order buffing my entire army. The techpriest protecting it got charged down and died, and then the Stormlord got one-rounded, all the Scions inside spilled out like an accident on a clown highway, it was hilarious. I wish Baneblades got to have an army rule, or a detachment rule, or hit on 3's naturally, or had an invuln save at all, or......

Sounds glorious, all those hot shot lasguns spitting out the back, pew pew pew. I can vaguely remember that the baneblade models were semi decent at one point recently however can't remember exactly when....

I just finished another chassis for 30k and I now have 4 different leman Russ tanks for 40K and 4 for 30k

I got a punisher Russ for killing ork boyz, does alright. It can shoot it’s way out of melee so I can run it pretty aggressively.

Just played a game with my Defender, and it is a fantastic tank, the overwatch is a huge deterrent to fire lanes for infantry, and on top its got a demolisher cannon. Odds are you'll get charged through a wall negating its overwatch.... It can really chip wounds with Sustained and Lethal on its heavy bolters off any vehicle regardless of toughness. 310 is just too much I'm afraid. There's no reason this shouldn't be 270 points and then you'd have a solid 'Amber' tank. Carnodons at 160 is also a big no, at 120 i think they would be an appropriately costed model with 6 autocannon shots.

Uhhh, you forgot the Carnodon and Valdor. Always something, right? 😂Also the stormblade is the most expensive baneblade. With any FW stuff, just assume that it will all go to Legends. I've lost hope that the M Defender will stick around. But also remember that GW is already not supporting it by balancing it. There is no difference between Legends and Imperial armour other then the fact that one is tournament legal. But please treat yourself by playing the defender! It is a lot of fun. I play against mostly comp players + UK comp terrain and it always does well (with an enginseer) But with the Hellhound I find the Inferno cannon to be far superior against armour. Great for overwatch to finish weaker T10/T11 tanks with it's great AP. Plus it means it can operate outside of order range without too much of an impact.

From your experience does the Defender do enough damage for 310? The Dorn feels so strong now and is 70pt cheaper so to squeeze the Defender into my list is a big cut. I'd love to play it before it's legends gi en I've got the mini painted up

@@GuardsmanHanan sort of. The 5+ overwatch means that you make up the difference, thougj being forced to burn a cp is rough. It feels very strong (and sometimes downright mean) in casual but just ok in comp
