Do you know about all Dallas actors who have died (tragic)?
Dallas was a popular soap opera that followed the wealthy Ewing family and their dramatic lives. The show ran from 1978 to 1991 and was created by David Jacobs. It was through the creative eye of David Jacobs that Dallas became America’s most popular soap opera. To this day, it’s a staple of Americana.

But what made the show a huge hit were the cast members. Sadly, many of these cast members have passed away.
Let’s take a moment to look at all Dallas actors who have died. The protagonist was J.R. Ewing played by Larry Hagman. He was a native Texan who had found success in “I Dream of Jeannie.” But it was his role as J.R. that made him a national treasure. He died in 2012 due to complications from cancer.
J.R.’s mother was Ellie who was played by actress Barbara Bel Geddes who was already an iconic actress by now. She was already a household name but managed to reach a new generation of fans with Dallas. She died of lung cancer in 2005.
J.R.’s nemesis was Cliff Barnes who was played by Ken Kercheval. Though his character had animosity toward the Ewing’s, in reality, he was a great friend of both Larry Hagman and Barbara Bel Geddes. Apart from Dallas, he had a successful career with many other popular television shows. He died in 2019 after enduring a long illness.
Dallas also had many other talented actors who were part of the supporting cast. Without the excellent talents of these actors, the show wouldn’t have become a success. It’s sad to look back at all Dallas actors who have died. But by looking back at their lives, you can appreciate their talents and their dedication to their craft. It can serve as an inspiration for you to follow your own dreams!
Let’s learn more about all Dallas actors who have died and their incredible lives!

I own the series and currently watching season 10. I remember watching it as a child up till season 9, now , finally getting the chance to finish watching the whole lot. I find it huge in quality as script and actors play. It dwarfs today's soap opera performance and I think it will never be matched in any of the characteristics.

I was born in Dallas and have lived in Arlington my whole life. My cousins from south Texas came up during the run of Dallas and we had to take them to see Southfork. It was out in the country then, now it’s grown up so much. Everyone thought we all had a ranch and rode horses to work.

I think that with a re-boot that it would draw a lot of people to it. I had got into the previous reboot and WTF.... what happened. I dont even think that all of that last episode it showed was completely aired. My husband watched it Faithfully also and he was like it seemed like it was just jerked off of the network by aliens. I thought maybe I had just missed something or that it was just the end of that season . I mean how did they end the series? J.r died and that was so terribly sad. I think we all loved to hate J.r !!!

I will never forget the who shot JR episodes. The audience was in suspense all summer until the fall season began. Everyone was speculating on who they thought did it. I had a tee shirt with a picture of a big cowboy hat that had printed underneath it "keep it under your hat, I shot JR". People were even making bets on who they thought shot JR. I have not seen an episode of a TV program that gained that much suspense since then.

My favorite childhood show. JR was the SOB everyone loved to hate including that devilish grin on his face. There was something unique about the way he knew how to twist the knife in the wound and that along with his grin became his trademark throughout the entire show. When he was out to destroy or better yet ruin someone he didn't use violence, he used his wits and that hurt a lot more than just plain physical hurt. I remember people having bumper stickers at the time that read: " i shot the bastard". There's always utorrent or online stores for those of you who like to watch Dallas again nowadays.

I still recall with such joy that Friday evening November 21st 1980 heading home from high school. FINALLY the Who Shot Jr. mystery was to be revealed and world excitement literally was at a fever pitch. After 6 long months of torture waiting for the new season to commence and suffering through the frustrations of the actor's union strike which delayed production, the mystery was to be solved. And it did not disappoint. Everybody was talking about it. Phone calls from the East Coast were made to the West Coast with the simple 3 words every one wanted to hear...IT WAS KRISTEN! I do miss watching TV today with the rest of the world. Streaming services and recording devices are useful but there was something so very wonderful about watching programming live with everyone else in your time zone. Water cooler television they called it and I miss it today. Thank you for this wonderful dedication to the cast I have cherished for over 40 years. They brought tremendous joy to so very many.

I commend the executive producers (Ms. Cidre) for the latest installment of the series. As a teenager, watching "DALLAS" with my sisters and brother was a part of our Friday night routine. The writing and new characters honored the legacy of the original series, and have earned their places in the storyline. If there is ever another re-boot, I hope that there are a few changes: (1.) When plotting the new story lines, steer clear of the drug cartel and associated violence. After surviving the initial close call with the Venezuelan thug, the scenarios in which the characters survive kidnappings and conflicts with the Mexican gangs virtually unscathed, unnecessarily stretches the credibility of the story very thin. The rescue of Emma Brown/Rylan was unbelievable, while her implied rape was very credible. (2.) If Linda Gray and Patrick Ewing are not available for future casting, there is more than enough material availed in the final episodes to generate a new timeline. /A./ Beginning with the revelation that the late J. R. fathered a daughter, and half sister to John Ross, the storyline can be developed with new characters, and continue the Ewing lineage through these two characters; /B./ With the section of oil rich Ewing land negotiated by Elaina for J. R.'s theft/embezzlement from the Ramos patriarch, her character could provide the series with another credible business tycoon, and nemesis of John Ross, *despite the fact that they share a son (or daughter). Elaina's contribution may be particular interesting, given her reconciliation with Christopher prior to his murder (by hitman ordered by Nicolas Trevino). Christopher was no total idiot, and would most likely have provided for her to enjoy partial ownership of his methane extraction patent in the event of his untimely death; /C./ The death of Christopher Ewing may not necessarily have ended (?) Farraday's lineage. Given his loose association with Christopher's late, biological mother Kristen Shepherd, it's reasonable to presume that he fathered siblings who would fight for a share of profits from Christopher's methane extraction patent, and provide us with more interesting storyline developments. /D./ Various assets owned by Pamela Rebecca Barnes already provides her with the means to regroup, and prepare to avenge herself for the mistreatment she endured at the hands of the Ewings. Perhaps in association with Elaina Ramos, the two "ladies" would be formidable business partners, and a serious threat to John Ross and his sister. . . .just sayin'.

*I don't think Dallas series can ever be replaced. I would settle for just watching the re-runs.*

I was born in Europe and only recently discovered the Dallas ,brilliant series. I love the series, and right now, I am watching a season 12. I'm charm by it .The actors are really good ,some are better than others. I prefer the earlier seasons. That is before Victoria Principal left the show.

So many actors go through an entire career, and made little more than a blip - seen in the background of forgotten projects. They have a certain immortality in the culture, and not to be forgotten. And may come up in trivia pursuit game.

Dallas made me stay at home. The new Dallas with some Episodes with Larry Hagman and others was not as good as it was. But the Dallas movies, began with Jr try to rebuild The Ewing Empire

I remember tracking in small villages in Turkey in 1986 and the whole village was at a coffee shop watching Dallas.
