I like to think this Mega Man is from way after 6 since he sounds a bit older than before. Which means the legacy collection is essentially replaying all his memories.
Fun Fact: If you get the "So you're spending all your time with me huh? Not that I'm complaining," or the stretches or any considered normally wholesome MegaMan dialogue and you have the Dark Mega costume on, it just seems like Dark MegaMan being wholesome, for the first time ever.
I can’t believe they brought back the original english VA for Megaman.exe! Personally, I can’t imagine anyone else other than Andrew because he nails him!
This is by far the best Mega Man Legacy Collection, a massive library saving you from buying the inflated original GBA release, adding in online compatibility, getting the original Canadian voice actor back to do these fun menu operator lines, making the anime and manga available for everyone. (Until September if you didn't download them) It just makes me wonder what's next after this. Starforce or in a wild guess, RE engine remakes of Legends 1+2. That would be something worth printing on a cart/disk.
As someone who played BN when I was growing up and actually continued into Starforce I am really hoping that if/when a Legacy Collection comes, that they will take even half of the care and love that seemed to go into this one. I've never played the Legends series before though so if that one wound up coming out next I'd love to finally play through them after seeing how much love I've seen people proclaim for those games
I love that they brought Andrew Francis back for this! I always really liked his take on MegaMan.Exe, and being able to hear it again makes this already amazing collection even better!
There's one line where he asks you to say "Battle routine, set!" and then gives you a countdown, and follows it up with his own "Execute!" after roughly the amount of time it would take you to say the battle routine line on your own, and that just makes me geek out to the moon when I heard that
It's a great touch that adds a lot of life to the collection, but I wish he actually emoted more. He just looked like a stiff action figure staring at you forever
Holy shit did they bring back Mega Man’s English VA from the SHOW!? Dude, I used to love watching NT warrior! It’s what got me into the games. It’s got to be over 10 years by this point.
There's another piece of dialogue that I personally felt was very special. If you complete all the games, he will say " whoa you've completed all the games but remember, we are always connected". Makes me wish this series would rise all over again. 😭😭😭
Megaman: Hope you did all your chores! This. It's stuff like this that one of my childhood characters says that really makes me feel like a kid again playing these all over again!
After watching both the Japanese and English dubs of Megaman NT Warrior, I gotta say, I love Andrew Francis 's portrayel of Megaman. EXE. He gives the character an edge while still keeping true to Megaman's polite and sincere nature. I would love to hear his take as Dark Megaman.EXE had the rest of the anime aired in the states, at least there is a taste of that in the game. Kudos to Capcom for bringing Andrew back into the role
There's also a voice line for when you beat a game. heading to the main menu after reaching the credits Megaman.exe will say something like "you cleared it. nice!" and a clear marker will appear under the game title
That actually is not all the dialogue. Mega will actually say something when you beat one of the games. Just beat BN1 today, and he does in fact have something to say!
@@GoldyX completely fair. I was going through the entire franchise to help solidify it. I will recommend the English patch for Operate Shooting Star over the Collection for only BN1 though
Honestly, seeing Mega here reminded me about 4.5 Real Operation, if only we can have more functions like email or trade requests and all of that, that'd be so cool like a real life PET.
When I got the collection (launch day) I sat there for like an hour just listening to Mega Man speak to me and ask me questions. And I love when he greets me at the different times. The games are fantastic too, but scrolling through the gallery, listening to music, and enjoying Mega Man’s presence in general as well is just awesome in this collection. The Mega Man legacy collections always just have an insane amount of content.
You missed the one where he says "you must be tired" after playing for a long time and he had a line when I beat the main story of BN1 so he probably has a 100% clear line too.
Kinda wish they would've made it so you could start with like MegaMan. Roll gutsman and glyde. Then playing through the games you'd unlock more navis to interact and talk about recent events from the games.
If they make a starforce legacy collection, I’m hoping they do something similar with omega-xs and have him talk to you while scrolling through the menu
The guy started voice acting when doing Teen Dende in the Ocean dub of DBZ. This is the guy who voiced Genki from Monster Rancher as a teen until he finally hit puberty in 2001 and got the Megaman exe voice that he would use a couple years later.
Now, if they do a Legacy Collection for Mega Man Legends, they need to have either Volnutt, Roll, or Tron greet the player on the main menu. That would be awesome.
still so jarring they didn't add a filter to his voice at all. feels so offputting hearing the raw voice instead of sounding like its coming from a PET
Instead of in menu i would prefer if they had done the DS treatment for all titles this way we could see how MegaMan is inside of each kind of pet and see him jacking in and out and all that. They didn't need to add voice lines of they didn't want that but I would love remixed musics as an extra too. I love him in the menu but I would love him more in game. The double team DS is one of my fave ports of the fifth game. There are so many good features there that they never brought to any of the GBA games.
It's a little wild to expect them to have done that to all of the games, but having the option for the Double Team DS features for BN 5 and the OSS updates for BN 1 is something I really would like to see. I know they were sticking to the GBA games/ports though, but even going by that inclusions like Battle Chip Challenge and 4.5 might have been a real hook for some people who didn't feel like the restoration of cut content and little features like this weren't enough of a selling point
2:01 - 2:04: I’m not sure if you still don’t know what he said (and if someone has mentioned before) but it’s: “Hope you knocked out all your chores for today” XD
@@GoldyX The way he talk and the script in the these dialogues sounds like an adult to me. He supposed to be Lan's older twin, and the Japanese voice portrayed a mature and responsible kid better, which he is even in the English version of these games.
Not gonna lie, this is neat. I have the rest of the Legacy Collections with that I even have multiple copies of like the original Mega Man series being on my Switch, PS4 and Xbox Series X and same goes for the X series. I only have Zero/ZX on Xbox and PS4, though. Stinks this game isn't on Xbox, but again I have a PS4 and Switch so I won't be missing out. I might choose the Switch version as the first version I'll own because honestly it makes since because these Mega Man games debuted on the GBA and the Switch is portable. Highly doubt there will be that much of a difference between playing this on PS4 vs. PS5, but I might get the PS4 version as well. Honestly makes me wish for a Star Force Collection and a Blu-Ray complete series for NT Warrior (Along with a Blu-Ray for Ruby-Spears Mega Man) from Discotek Media or anybody. First (And only time) I have watched NT Warrior is the first episode that was included in the Xbox version of the Anniversary Collection.
@@GoldyX Yeah. It seems that the original Mega Man Legacy Collection with the first 6 NES games were made to test the waters before on deciding to make a Legacy Collection 2 with 7 - 10 and ones made for the X, Zero/ZX and Battle Network series. Really glad to see these games preserved and readily available on modern consoles. Just a little bummed out that this Legacy Collection isn't on Xbox, but with a new survey then I hope that changes. And a Star Force collection is a really good suggestion and maybe a bundle with the Classic series, X, Zero/ZX and Battle Network Legacy Collections and Mega Man 11 (Imagine seeing a bundle with a whopping 46 games including separate versions of Battle Network 3 - 6 and Star Force series for $20 on sale. Talk about a steal of a bundle and especially with all the hours of gameplay it would offer). Actually watched the anime for Star Force and I really want to play it now. Sonia Strumm is already one of my favorite characters in the series so far probably because of her hoodie.
Imagine if NetNavis were real, and this is how high-def they looked and spoke with you... Of course, like 90% of the NetOps would model-mod theirs to look like MegaMan just because. Personally, I'd see if I could come up with a design for a Ukrainian Navi, CossackMan.EXE...
