I agree with the ghost ship being Pirates who found the Triforce shard. However we know from Lenzo that the map was made much more recently by somebody who was tracking the ship. Lenzo tells us that "just as he finished drawing the last line on that map, he died a most unexpected death...." it is my opinion that either the ghosts of that ship cursed him to death for tracking them, and out of a bit of spiteful revenge HIS ghost in turn enchanted the map so that it render the wielder immune to certain powers of the Ghost Ship, such as allowing people to board it, further evidence follows up that the Ghost Ship appears at the diamond steppe island on a certain night which means he may have died on that island... it is also my opinion that ships underneath the diamond steppe Island were other ships which the Ghost Ship may have attacked or were not as fortunate in their encounters with the Ghost Ship as Link was... and the ships were attacked and were brought down there by the Ghost Ship while their crew became the misfortunate Spirits we see all around when we're actually within the ship...... I also like to believe that in the original design it was going to be a bit bigger like a mini dungeon.... as for the portrait on the wall, in my original GameCube version it doesn't smile at first until link closes in as if it's getting ready to attack him as he gets close to the treasure chest..... perhaps that is all that is left of the heart of the captain who once commanded the ship....

I love the theory that this ghost Ship It's the same ghost ship in PH, searching for strong life force - what more strong than a triforce shard? But become trapped in great sea after getting the shard

It's possible that those pirates would have been cursed by the goddesses for stealing the shard, condamned to wander the sea protecting the shard until the hero takes it. Might explain the strange properties of the ghost ship chart.

@@solgaleo3533 I read somewhere that that’s because zoras were used to living in river and lake water and not salty ocean water. Don’t know where their source of their information was, but just thought I’d share.

The Deku Tree in WW is the grown-up Deku Tree Sprout from OoT-remember, WW is set in what is known as the Adult Timeline, and the Deku Tree Sprout was born almost immediately after Adult Link vanquished Phantom Ganon and purified the Forest Temple in OoT.
