Edelgard is actually a very curious girl. I remember at the end of her paralogue, there was talk of Holst being sick because he ate something bad and his face was something to behold. Edelgard stayed cool, but it was extremely clear that she really wanted to see what Holst looked like, it was so cute
Conversations that we all know happened: Edelgard: Dorothea, I'm so glad you could visit. Send my regards back to Brigid! Dorothea: Of course, Edie. So how are things with you and our old professor? E: Oh, she's great! But did you hear about Hubert and Ferdinand? D: Oh, they're so adorable!
I'm so glad of the depth these characters have. I just really like Manuela the most for some reason. Even though she has that flirty drunk mom vibe on the surface about her, she's extremely supportive of those around her and has a great sense of maturity and wisdom beneath all of that. It's even greater when she's with Edelgard in my opinion, because of how the two help each other with their ideals and give each other support in their own ways.
I think Edelgard’s supports with Hannneman and Manuela are some of if not the best for each character tbh. Hanneman’s goes into his backstory more while giving Edelgard a new perspective of crests, whereas Manuela’s show that Edelgard (at least the CF one) is willing to still allow piety as she only seeks to dismantle the institution of the church, rather than the belief.
HexManiacCiaran True, but I like how her supports with Manuela went more in depth into it and clearly demonstrates that Edelgard isn’t an “atheist,” like several peeps claim her to be.
Also, several character endings (e.g. Hanneman and Manuela, Linhardt and Bernadetta) in the CF route reveal that the Church is revived under the supervision of the Empire, so looks like Edelgard seems to acknowledge the Church does not need to be utterly destroyed but at the very least reformed. That stance is pretty much the same as mine in regards to the Church of Seiros.
Sun-Joong Kim Yeah. The church itself is alright, as long they don’t get political influence. The Nabateans as a species don’t have to die if they promise not to intervene in human affairs. Unfortunately, Rhea would refuse these conditions in her WC state, so she has to go down.
Every time Edelgard said “good girl” I died. Goodbye everyone I am Gone Also what colors were Edelgard and Lysithia’s hair/eyes before the Crest experiments? I’m incredibly curious
Funky Pants well to be fair, that is kind of what happens if you don’t side with her (not crazy like Hitler, but she keeps doing questionable things. That said, while I still love Edelgard as a character, I can usually see where people are coming from when they disagree with me, provided that they at least played her route. Edit: that said, this game has a serious problem: the 3 lords are not fleshed out at all in any paths that are not their own. Edelgard especially suffers from this problem since she just looks like a power hungry tyrant in every route but her own due to how 3 Houses does a bad job at fleshing her out in the other routes.)
I love the support with Lysithea. Empathy is such a strong story chord for me, and how they both share the same pain and weight of crests that threatens their lives.
Yeah say that Edelgard has only 12 supports (13 if you count Constance) but nobody notices she's the only house leader who has supports with Hanneman and Manuela.
@@joseph86255 and the only character she doesn't reach a paired ending with is Petra, and even in their B support it's "We can be equals and I look forward to working with you for years to come."
I think it would’ve been interesting to see Edelgard and Lorenz interact. Edelgard wants to destroy the nobility system while Lorenz only thinks of his role as a noble.
And he works real hard to fulfill his own expectations, so it's not like he only relies on his status for power. I think a discussion with him would trouble the both of them.
Leirbag15 That’s the one thing I like about Lorenz. He’s not coasting by on his status, he actually works hard to uphold that status to himself. But even so, he’s still a worse version of Ferdinand.
I imagine Lorenz would have a support with *Hubert*, who is checking to make sure he's alright to work with. Ending with a B+ if you spared Claude, where they talk about not having to like someone to recognize their positive worth.
Pat Conz she isn't, just... they are not married in their paired ending, but I guess they're in some kind of relationship, but not as marriage partner/spouses
Pat Conz Edelgard is not a big fan of marriage but is a fan of being in a loving couple for the rest of their lives. So basically marriage but no religious ceremony, just people choosing to love each other. Which makes sense with her character honestly
Edelgard: "Wait, why are you helping me?" Hanneman and Manuela: "Because we believe in you, stupid. You're the only house leader we have paired endings with for a reason."
Hubert: I'll tell you everything, from all the blood spilt, to the money spend, to the woman I love, and- Edelgard: Hold the fuck up, you LIKE someone???
From Lysithea's support conservations and her biological, Edelgard is an one of the person that Lysithea told her crests and her painful past. The first one is a protagonist (aka. player)
Knowledge conquers fear, and Linhardt likely knows all there is to know about her family’s genealogy through his research, so she knows EXACTLY which buttons to press.
18:26 This one line is actually different if it's still the academy fase, since she wasn't emperor yet and the Black Eagle strike force wasn't a thing yet. I just love little touches like this!
6:39 I've noticed that I saw different dialogue in this particular part of the Edelgard/Hubert A support where Edelgard tries to figure out who it is that he loves. If I had to guess, I'd say that the dialogue change would come about if you've gotten Hubert to A support to any other character (or maybe just F!Byleth). Chances are that it could be the exact opposite.
Yes, that's what Edelgard wanted. A separation of church and state, checks and balances and a healthy middle class with the disbandment of the nobility system.
As someone familiar with Robert Paxton’s writing on fascism I sure hope it doesn’t look like that. The ending does specially say she destroyed the system of nobility p, was loved by the people and lead Fódlan to a new golden age.
I was disappointed that there was no chat between Edelgard with Dorothea and Petra during any of the battles against her, I mean they were her home girls
Literally in her home. They're fought in the same chapter as her in Verdant Wind, Conclusion of the Crossing Roads, where Claude and Byleth storm the palace.
@@yunuss58 During a livestream, Mekkkah asked for some donations saying "After we reach X donations I am gonna react to whoisthisgit top 10 fe7 characters video" And then he proceeded to mock his video and his voice, acting like a midschool bully
@@yunuss58 That's FE fanbase for you. Go against any FEtuber opinion and you're most likely gonna get laughed at or worse It's kind of a shame, Mekkkah's content is actually really good
Edelgard is pretty much Micaiah. Let's see: Female Lord? Check! White hair? Check! Acts as a semi-antagonist? Check! Highly controversial in the fandom? Check! Morally grey? Check! Roasts people? Check! All that's missing is Edelgard having a goddess birb on her head.....well, except her crown looking like an eagle's head with that beak.
Marriage does not happen until after the war so it’s all epilogue. Also some people enter into lifelong relationships but never technically get married.
Am I the only one that feels like Edelgard should have had more romantic supports? The only ones that are explicitly romatic are the ones with Byleth, Ferdinand and possibly Hubert. One of her supposed character development is opening up to other people but she has the least supports of the 3 Lords and only 2 from other Houses (one of which you have to buy the DLC to get)...I kinda wanted her to interact with other people from other houses besides Lysithea. Sylvain, especially since he hates the Crest system as well and their personalities would be a contrast to each other...
Caspar, Linhardt and Hanneman are romantic as well. Also, it's more that she learns who she can trust, and opens up to them, hence why she has a paired ending with 11 out of her 12 supports. Contrast that with Sylvain, who has the most supports after Byleth but only 5 paired endings.
only your character can get S rank supports. the endings of the characters are tend to be implied that they got married someone to who they had a A rank support with likeeee Dimitri's and Marianne's ending together
Can someone tell me when each one of her supports becomes available and what the deadline for them are? (For example, the first time she can have a B support with Dorothea and when does she have to do it by)
Petra's the only Black Eagles student Edelgard doesn't have an A support or ending with. Petra's also the only Black Eagles student where Edelgard goes "Not only do I want you to succeed on your own, I know you can do it, and I challenge you prove you don't need anything from me." So maybe they don't share an ending because there's no need. The diplomatic independence and friendly connection was already assured. ...Plus they've got Dorothea as their special envoy.
sixstringpsycho I’m on Chapter 16 of her route, and I’m still only at B, even with giving her lots of gifts and fighting by here. And it doesn’t say “it will take some time before you can deepen this bond.”
Of course Edelgard and Dimitri wouldn’t have any, but Claude should at least have a C and B with the others, since in the paths that aren’t his, he makes peace with the faction the player picks.
Edelgard is someone I disagree with her method but agree with (some of) her ideal Too bad that Those who Slither the Dark is poor written despite they are said to be controlling both Empire/Kingdom political power, which make people wonder why she ever join force with them: the lore said it people
1:18:59 I feel Edelgard's declaration would hold a little more weight (at least with me) if she didn't align herself with the very people who ruined her life; that was a part of the CF route I could never overlook, and it killed a lot of the support I felt for her.
@@HappyPotat This may just be my opinion, but I feel that if you're only option is to work with someone like Thales... You may just need reconsider the moral standards of your crusade.
@@natoriousthehopeful2786 Moral has nothing to do with it, Rhea is too strong for the Imperial army to beat alone. Besides remember how in Awakening, Robin suggests an alliance with Plegia to defeat Walhart? The kingdom ruled by cultists who want the end of the world by sacrificing it's own citizens to Dragon Satan?
to be fair, she uses them temporarily because the church is too strong and even actively disrupts them in the route when she kills Cornelia. If you S support Jeritza it explicitly says that after reunification Edelgard and her allies destroy Those Who Slither
@@hexmaniacciaran That's another thing I feel unsure about; how do they beat them? From a military standpoint, El and her strike force are screwed ten ways to Tuesday; Thales has shape shifting soldiers, legions of demonic beasts, literal battle mechs, and FRIGGIN NUKES. I'm not trying to bash Edelgard, but I do not see her beating Thales; especially considering her best weapon, i.e. US, have lost our powers. It would've been nice if we could play those chapters where she takes him on to see how they could do it, especially since she had the shortest route, but since all the writers did was just say it I'm skeptical; it feels like a MASSIVE plot hole, and a little lazy by slapping "and they all loved happily ever after" without really earning it (Thales was the TRUE villain of the game, after all). How does El and Byleth really win? And I mean without just saying the story says so. Not trying pick a fight, I'm just explaining why I can't really support her ending.
I'm so mad that the writers decided that Rhea's goals should be COMPLETELY JUSTIFED! What kind of STUPID MORON thought it would be a good idea to have Rhea's actions she was taking be not to ressurect Sothis, but to keep humanity from getting worse? Now I feel HORRIBLE about my choice to side with Edelgard! Edelgard is my favorite character in the game, but now I literally feel like my only reason for siding with her is because she's a waifu! And that Rhea really was doing everything in her power, putting all of her blood, sweat and tears into trying to save Fodlan, and we stab her in the back, and make a malicious grin at her while doing this! All for the sake of having sex with some MISGUIDED emperor! WHY DID THEY HAVE TO MAKE RHEA HAVE COMPLETELY JUSTIFIABLE REASONS TO DO THIS? I'm literally almost brought to TEARS on how frustrating this is! And I'm someone who never cries anymore! So this is a horrible sign! Someone PLEASE get me a therapist who knows a lot about this game, because I feel like my existence means nothing now!
Soo after 5 years of war Edelgard hasn't even thought one second about how the commoners needed help after all this was over? Until Ferdinand decided to talk with her about it? Really shows how much she cares about them..
her personality isn’t for everyone of all the lords in 3H she probably has the least digestible/relatable personality hence why a lot of people don’t like her and she was written like that intentionally. which is why only a handful of people like her
Also she just start a war, nothing quite hitler xD Thousands of people decided to go to war (and at least she's doing for good reasons), if hitler only begun a war, even a world one, no one would talk about him xD
I hate Edelgard...but, if i have to say something, her role as a villain is great, is too repulsive like griffin for berserk and too classic like an average disney villain
