Homeland Divided (My Alternate History): The Chinese Civil War ends in a stalemate after Mexican forces push back the North China and Soviets. Actually Mexico and The USSR may have divided china to North and South China, North China being heavily influenced or annexed by the USSR and South China being heavily influenced or annexed by Mexico
I think the issue is that the term "Republic of China" in (Mainland) China parlance refers exclusively to the period between 1911 and 1949, especially the later Chiang regime which was arguably as dictatorial as the PRC and also neglected the interests of the "proletariat" which formed the majority of the population of a then-agrarian China. So for the majority of Chinese citizens, the Communist endings would seemingly be better than a KMT ending. The "ROC" you talk about is the modern day regime on Taiwan, which did not become remotely democratic until the 1990s and didn't have its first transfer of power until 2000. It would not be unfathomable to postulate that, should the KMT have retained control of the mainland, the current would-be ROC would have done worse than the PRC.
No it is the worst ending bcs china will be a sad little puppet of the neocolonial west stuck making computer chips. As a Chinese person I can confirm the prc is better.
