Shogo, I had your videos pop up on my recommended feed recently and I have watched every one all the way through. You are very wise and I've loved listening to you share knowledge about Japan & it's culture, you've more than earned my sub. 1 million subscribers in no time!
Very cool shop, with extremely beautiful swords. One critic is it is spell "presence" not "presents". Presents are gifts, presence is being in the same space, or an essence something gives off.
@@lukmanibrahim2993 I think that is a very dificult question because that term didnt exist in the past only in the past century it more used so if they existed then nobody would have known they were so it would have been registred either because people in those time especialy in asia didnt know about it existing
Shogo's genuine love for this shop is so sweet and adorable! I really love this channel and it helped me gain so much knowledge about Iaido and japanese culture. I have so much love and respect for you, Shogo!
Shogo-San, I am very curious about the bosozoku culture. I am a foreigner who’s watched multiple documentaries on bosozoku, and it would be amazing if you could make a video explaining their history and your take on Bosozoku.
Great video! All my iaido equipment is from Tozando and I am very pleased with it. Their beginner iaito was perfect for newbies like me- lighter weight and a little shorter in length so I can get accustomed to using it without getting fatigued quickly. Notto is easier with a shorter blade length, too. All well crafted products. Even the uniform is beautiful.and durable. My Sensei highly recommends their products. They will not disappoint! Thanks, Shogo for giving us your awesome virtual tour!

Beautiful katana designs 🤩 Tomoko and Shogo looks so happy like kiddos getting in the candy shop 😆 love that vibe from the video ❤️ The question: what does it mean that extra certificate that proves that the katana is special kind of katana? I apologise if this question was already answered on one of your videos.
iam a die hard fan of your culture especially samurai armour and katana. so watching your videos brings me so much happiness. i hope i can also hold a real samurai katana.and ohh i made my own samurai armor just to show how passionate iam about samurai tnx bro so much
I absolutely love all your videos! Grade 5 and 8 we did a whole semester study of Japan. Where i live in Canada We have a "sister city" in Japan, my school had a sister school also! Our study included having a pen pal also! It was so cool. We exhanged collectible cards and coins. I sent hockey cards and received street fighter cards that i still cherish! My friends and i about 7 years ago went to Japan for a Yakigussen championship representing Canada and won! It was literally the highlight of my life!! A dream come true. The food! the people! the culture! So kind and generous. Beleive me when I say i never wanted to leave! my friend Steve is 7'1 when we were there for the tourney he was a spectacle lmao! In a good way. Peoples minds were just blown lol Have a great day! And keep up the good work!
I saw a video saying that you were sick. I don't know if you're doing well, but I just want to say that I hope you'll get better soon. I'm an American I've learned so much, especially that I'm making a comic about the samurai/Japanese culture and your videos are very helpful
I really wanna go to japan, I've tried to check different ways like volunteer working and such. I just hope that in the future I can do so and visit these place I see in your videos. Thank you very much for the content you produce!
It's my dream to visit Kyoto 😍 And now It's the first time hearing from Tozando. So It's another reason to visit Kyoto 👀 Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪 Edit: Arigatou Gozaimasu ✨
Shogo San, I would love to pop in to say hi to you when I come visit (we are from Australia). Your shows are so very helpful to a beginner Iaido trainees like myself. Thank you for sharing your culture and passion with the world.
I own a set of Samurai Armor from Iron Mountain Armory. They're fantastic, especially for the price. They have complete sets starting under 1000$ which is really cheap for armor
Thank you Shogo for another great video at Tozando. I wonder how many people have now worn the set of armour that you and Tomoko wore? I tried on the same set (or at least the same design of armour) in February of 2020. I noticed they still have the Yari (spear) on top of the the sword display cabinet by the sofa upstairs. As a new hobby I have been making my own pieces of samurai armour to put a set of my own together. I have had some difficulty in making or finding suitable Kikko plates and oval Kusari links. If anyone knows a Japanese company that makes parts for armour that would be amazing.
So I stumbled onto your channel while playing ghost of tsushima and I love the content! It's nice seeing someone so passionate about history and culture.
Love ur channel Ur history lessons are great and ur showing tours of places in your city Make me want to go there Also ur lessons on manners will help me not look Like a ride tourist Domo Arigito Shogo
I really like this channel, it always has really great and interesting information about Japan. So much fun! Thank you for the videos, I hope to see many more.
ik this is an older video, but i would kill to be in that store for even an hour. everything is so beautiful. the one set of armor with the crescent helm ornament, date masamune, reminds me of what one of my ancestor's armor looked like, his mempo was very different however and the colors were brown and white stitching. i wanna go back to japan so bad, i envy my family
you inspire me alot and your videos, just make me feel calm and happy , Thank you =) i actually will buy a katana soon and learn "The way of the Katana (Tachi) " Any recommendations for first Katana.
When i started learning info about samurai and all that other stuff i wanted to have the mind set of one, eventually i wanna get an offical katana (real) and armour just for show and respect
Loved how you mentioned the Oni on the kabuto, but didn't mention that it's a replica of the legendary Tokugawa general and retainer, Honda Tadakatsu (aka Heihachirō (本多 平八郎)) :P
I really want a kanata myself. We have a katana as a family heirloom from our grandfather. But my dad has to hide it as it makes guests uncomfortable. It’s somewhere above the ceiling. We might need to do some renovation or fixes as it’s up for like a decade now. But 1 days I hope I can display at my own house.
Amazing shogo next time I think you Will bring a yoroi with you! and btw if I would be intersted to buy the tanto for 780 000 yen if I would want to equip a orange sageo to it would they tie it and then ship it? And last pls make a video from about your aikido journey love from sweden🇸🇪❤️🇯🇵
Wow!! This was awesome man I think I know what I’m going to do when I go to Japan and tomoko looked tough and her pose with the sword was cool man Shogo you take us to the coolest place and seeing wear the armor man you looked great and your pose was cool too!! Thanks for this video
Hi there and thank you for the video ! i have a question please : the chest armor parts, are they in " boiled leather " ? i mean boiled ( not boiled into water ) but " boiled " as soft leather mixed in warm water with eggs of a certain river fish ? ( like old Roman Muslce armor ) , i think yes ? thank you !
Another one to add to the list of places to visit - one question though, do they let you try on the armour if you are a tourist and not buying anything else? This seems like a perk of being a repeat customer, rather than a tourist attraction...
Interesting for me because eventually i want to have the full Equipment meaning, bokto Daishō, shinken Daishō, Yoroi, Montsuki, Kimono, Naginata, Bogu etc... im gonna buy that over time since im guessing all will cost around 50.000€ easily.
The video is awesome and insightful since im going to Japan during summertime. Japan is one out of 8 places in the world, i wanted to discover since a child. Im super elated knowing that im going to appreciate the culture and people. The samuri outfit that you guys were wearing was totally epic. I want one and wanted to know how much the armor cost?
Okay, really dumb question here, I am assuming these suits of armor are as close to period correct as possible. Meaning, are they functional? If so, they seem really light. I have tried on European Armor before, and it was heavy. I am good sized dude, ~200lbs, 91kg, and I had a hard time moving. The weight was similar to my full kit, including flak jacket, M16/M4, LBE, water, etc. Beretta M92FS (or Colt 1911, yes, I am that old) in the US Army, with a full ruck. Difference, once you drop the ruck, you can move pretty good. If I fell over in Knights armor, I think I need someone to stand me up 😜🤔😁👍. In that light, I think a Samurai had a distinct advantage over a Knight.
Hey Shogo, how's the weight on that type of samurai armor? You seemed the get crushed inside that one armor last time, how does this one compare to that? Also, very beautiful blades!
I was curious about something, I've heard some stories of samurai who reinforced their scabbards with a thin iron casing for use as a possible deflector in tight quarters and I wasnt sure if these stories had any validity at least for practical use.
