gajeel lowkey beats him a 1v1 but I agree gray is overall stronger against other opponents. Gajeel is a bad match up for him. He can use shadow mode to close distance and make it a slugfest and he can break thru ice ez. Also gray can't really finish the fight his defense is too strong

Honestly Fairy tail characters are hard to scale because of the writing style Fairy tail has. We know Wendy is easily light speed and that most likely Natsu has been since at least the grand magic games, but power feats are often universe/writing style specific like burning time. Which is kinda hard to compare to other series. There is a statement about August destroying the world but the translation is sketchy. Without highballing either side and playing it safe with only concrete evidence and no headcanon, I would say bleach characters are stronger and likely much faster. But fairy tail Characters are closer to Bleach than other series like Naruto or One Piece.

Erza, Makarov, Laxus and Natsu could all take on mirajane if you ask me.

Lucy in the 100 year quest has crazy high magic power, enough that is was said similar to brandish. She might be a worse fighter than Loke but she is strong enough that her summoning him makes him stronger than him summoning himself if that makes sense. Plus she has a large skillset. Honestly this list is a bit outdated now and I would actually consider putting her above Makarov and potentially closer to Gajeel.

@klein8378 Wow, that is a surprise, but I haven't read 100 years quest, so I honestly wouldn't know how much stronger she gets. I find it very hard to believe she could ever beat Makarov, Mirajane, or Gajeel, though 🤔🤔🤔

@@bomberdawesome 100 year quest has some interesting things going on in it. Gajeel has been shown to be quite rusty or have fallen behind a bit because of certain developments, Makarov has kinda been power cliffed since the war arc and Mirijane got no diffed by gray. Not saying any of them are weak but some characters got the backseat in the recent story. The Lucy and Brandish comparison was very very recent, without any big spoilers someone used a spell that turns you into someone you picture as a rival that has similar magic power. Not saying she is as strong but comparable. Although even if she is stronger than Gajeel potentially, I think she would lose to him in a fight. Gajeel is just a better fighter and Lucy doesn't have the strongest magic type in the world. Loke would have to carry.

​@@revtk2083Gray didn't beat Mira easily. Plus that Mira was controlled and she was already fighting someone else before fighting Gray. Cana was teasing Gray the entire time for taking so long to beat a tired Mirajane.

@@shingardhaliwal960 Gray was also totally fine after the fight and you have to keep in mind Gray is fighting to incapacitate his Guildmate who is being controlled. Erza vs Laxus was a intense close fight. Gray vs Mira was casual off screen with a comedic joke at the end which wasn't important enough to show. Not to hate on Mira at all she is 100% on the stronger end of the guild and would probably make anyone in the guild have to put in effort to beat her.

laxus beat erza while she was buffed and levy simply not a fighter like that. Gray fought E.N.D natsu well and has a move that gives him a guaranteed tie with anyone. Not even Zeref could stop lost iced shell.
