Who was surprised? They're using an old engine for a game that honestly, much like every recent paradox title, feels shallow. Let's no even mention the fact that Stellaris Star Trek mods put this game to shame.
the game looked good, only issue is that as a stellaris owner there was no incentive to spend full price on what was in reality a stellaris mod, with stellaris actually having a really good startrek mod itself
for me it always felt like "babies first 4X" and that was fine on its own. but as you said, boring coming from stellaris, in particular if you are already bored by stellaris ^^
I have not played it yet. Watched lets plays and kept my eye on it. But have wanted it to get patched / updated more before I picked it up. Pretty sad to see it get dumped. Another game dumped and not followed through on by Paradox... My trust in the likes of PDX and CA ever twindles...😢
Do we honestly believe Nible Giant didn't see these reductions many months ago even prior to the game's release?? Never trust mechanics, lawyers, or game companies!
I love both Star Trek and Stellaris but I had zero interest in this game. If given the choice between Stellaris and Stellarris light with lip service to Star Trek then I'll take the real thing.
