Merry Christmas to you catfish Dave. From southeast Iowa I got to fish this last Sunday also about the same time you was fishing. I'd have to say the bite here wasn't even close to yours there. Not even a nibble but didn't matter I was fishing on the bank of the des moines river in a t-shirt grilling some deer loins. In great company having some laughs and relaxation. We didn't get totally skunked my brother caught a little gizzard shad by hand in a little pool of water next to the bank. Had the grill out, it was still hot the thought crossed my mind I was fish hungry... Couldn't do it. It twas just the thought. Merry Christmas to everyone. Happy new year. Come on spring 2020

I tried cut catfish on my end of the Tennessee river, there not Likeing it so much. Honestly I'm still doing awesome on brim. Actually i slowed for a min. Then the brim got there winter colors its ON FIRE NOW. I got my PB 65lbs. Thanks to you Mark

Interesting.. I fished Sunday as well on the Ohio river and had short bites all day. Big slow takedowns and then they would spit it. But anyways enjoyed it Dave. Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
Go buy one. I had to go a long way to get the things, but I came up with a real Okuma Longtitude 12 ft and a Diawa Sealine X40. I can't get some of his hooks, but I have several pounds of circle hooks I've accumulated over the years. And a Newell reel that beats most anything a catfisherman ever casted.
I had a uncle ,u remind me of .he could catch a flat head in a mud puddle. We used to do alot of pay lake fishing. He has been gone for 12 yrs. Now thinking of getting back into the game cat fishing.

Mr. Catfish Dave first I want to start off by saying Merry Christmas to you your family and friends and God bless you and your family and friends!! Second thank you for the video that you uploaded I enjoy every single one of your videos I am a fisherman at heart just like you! I used to always go fishing on my boat for the last 3 months I've been fishing off the bank and I actually enjoy fishing off the bank because I get to meet new people from all racist Caucasians Vietnamese black African Americans Chinese people and I have made a few friends now and fishing buddies we have each other's phone number now when they go fishing we hit each other up we get together and we go bank fishing for catfish. And I have learned because of you and your videos that the catfish are very active during the month of November and especially December and I caught my personal best fishing off the bank on the point on the river at Lake Texoma Denison Dam spillway. When I go fishing most of the times if I don't call these gentlemen and new friends that I have made they live poster to the spillway then I do I have to drive almost a hundred miles and they live within 20 miles or less so they go often and they call me and they let me know hey get down here the fish is on fire they are taking the beige and we are landing some big catfish and brother I get my fishing gear rods and reels and I head out to go fish with my new Buddies and this year the day after Thanksgiving I actually caught my personal best catfish it was a blue catfish but he had a gorgeous color to him he was a light sky blue color but at the same time almost White gorgeous fish and I did release him back to the river but I caught my limit Within 5 hours there was a guy that was fishing there he was not having the same blood I gave him five of my fish then he offered to buy my other 20 fish that I was taking home and offered me $200 and I declined. I still had bathed I told him let me take my fish to the truck imma leave my gear down here and I'll be right back I helped him catch his limit we exchanged phone numbers he is a novice he is barely learning how to fish and so when I go fishing I call him and let him know that I'm going and he meets me down there but the other people that I have befriended since I started bank fishing since I started watching your videos they live closer to the spillway then I do I live roughly about a hundred miles away and they live within 10 miles or less and when the fish are biting they call me and they let me know just in case I might want you to make that trip down there and they send me pictures and when I see the pictures I grab my gear my fishing rods I get in my truck and I haul ass to Denison Texas I get down there I set up and sure enough the fish are biting I have caught plenty of blue catfish off the bank I only keep and bring home what I'm going to eat and I do not keep any fish over 10 lbs I like to eat my fish between 3 two 5 lb but I will keep them if they weigh 10 lbs or less and I enjoy fishing off the bank I did not realize on how much fun I was missing out on and having the opportunity to meet good people I am a Mexican from Mexico but I was born in Mexico and I was raised in the United States I have double citizenship I am a US citizen as well and I have met great people of all Races Vietnamese Chinese black African Americans caucasians salvadorians and they all have their own secret fishing tactics and we share our secrets and we have become friends one of them recently got married last week he invited me to his wedding he asked me to be his best man at the wedding because he said he had no friends except for me and I was honored to be his best man but thank you for your videos because you are old school you know your fishing I have learned from you and your videos and it is more relaxing do me when I fish off the bank precious fishing on my boat because most of the time when I'm fishing on my boat I am by myself and I have no one to talk to. because of me watching your videos you have encouraged me to fish off the bank I've met great people we have fished all night before we started at big bonfire and we slaughtered the blue catfish and everybody came to an agreement that we would not keep any fish over 10 lbs if a fish weighed over 10 lb we would release them back to the river so that they can breed and get bigger for the Next Generation but I guess what I'm trying to say is thank you because I enjoy bank fishing now I have learned to read the water to read the landscape and look for the points and Kohl's and currents and using cut Shad bait and when I throw my casting net into the river to catch shad fish I take out the Shad gizzard and I feel my fishing hook with shad gizzards and OMG that is one of the top two bait to use for catfish they will hit that Chad gizzard almost instantly as soon as it hit the water and I didn't realize it at the time but I was actually depressed and did not even know it. But fishing off the bank and meeting you people I realized that I have more energy I want to go out and do more things versus before my friends or myself would almost have to beg me to go fishing and I love fishing but fishing off the bank and carrying on a conversation with another fisherman like myself and like yourself and just talkin about anyting help me through my depression that I did not even know I was suffering so I want to thank you for your videos because of that it encouraged me to try something new and at the same time it was a healing process for my depression and I owe this to you. so thank you for the videos thank you for taking your time and money that you invest and next year 20/20 I will only use my boat for crappie fishing and bluegill fishing add for shellcrackers red-ear fishing! And I will fish off the bank for my catfish and not only that I catch blue catfish I actually caught two fish species of catfish then I've seen other people catch but I have never caught them and that is the albino catfish he's all white like Snow White and I caught give today for the year 2019 I have caught 15 Appaloosa catfish and the one that I'm talking about that I have been taught and learned that the brown catfish with black spots is the Appaloosa catfish and they pull hard harder than a flat head and a blue catfish or channel catfish I've seen and heard other fishermen call the channel catfish Appaloosa catfish because it has a slightly different color and spots but my father and my godfather who have always fish for catfish has always showed me and talk to me that the brown catfish with black spots is the Appaloosa catfish and will you fillet your Appaloosa catfish it is all white and has no red meat all that dark brown meat when you cook it it's almost like a crappie just all white meat and that's how I know it's the Appaloosa catfish and the albino catfish that I caught he actually weighed 12.86 pounds. and I want to say thank you thank you thank you thank you for showing us and entertaining us and sharing your knowledge with us your fans your viewers your techniques debate that you use and it works for you and it has worked for me and I have shared your RU-vid channel with my new fishing buddies and they all have subscribed to your Channel now we all imitate the way that you fish we all agreed to invest into 3 fishing rods and reel combos I already have like 16 surf rod between 13 ft and 15 ft long but we were talking about good fishing rods and reels top notch I've already bought one of mine and I know that I'm getting for Christmas my other two rods and reels because I have seen the presents under our Christmas tree and the size of those two presents can only indicate the fishing rod and reel combo by the size of the president and the fact that there's only two of the same size so I know my kids and my wife probably all chipped in and got me my fishing rods and reels because I had told them about this and I bought one and I saw my son checking out my fishing rod and reel combo alongside my daughter and son-in-law!! If you understood how fish bite, you would bait up exactly like he does. Never put bait on a hook that makes it likely the fish will take the wrong end into its mouth. That often results in the fish stripping the bait off the hook and getting away.
