There’s actually a what if story of that in a clone wars mag. I can’t find it anywhere when I search it was linked in the comment section of a video I watched years ago. It didn’t make any sense it was a brief description of Yoda and Sidious teaming up after sensing the dark side Anakin’s presence and Anakin solos them both and then storms into The Senate declaring himself the ruler the end. No I’m not making that up maybe you’ll find it if you dig deeper or someone else will find it and link
In Anakin’s defense the person stating this claim bombed the temple and even killed a few civilians contractors to do it. Not exactly like she has a right to say that to an order who is fighting a war and trying (yes I know Anakin and Obi Wan committed war crimes but they didn’t order crimes on civilians it was against military targets) to fight a war without committing war crimes against civilians, unlike the separatist who ordered bombing runs on civilian populations who we’re receiving humanitarian aid.
"Annaakin..." "What? He was going to blow up the ship." Honestly, a perfectly valid defense. It'd be like shooting the man whose got the detonator to the bomb under your car.
The fact no one could sense the dark side building in Anakin at Obi Wans “funeral” shows so much incompetence by the Jedi order. Asoka even pointed it out to Plo and he was like nahhhh he’s fine
@@Leostar-RegaliusNot really, his fall was all preordained by sidious, Maul himself said Anakin has been groomed to be Sidious’s new apprentice for a long time. Hell, he even orchestrated the whole clone wars
The whole point of what The Son showed Anakin was that he would become Darth Vader. Anakin gets his memory wiped and thus the story continues as normal. Had he not been wiped, who knows what he would've done.@@thelegosmithy161
2:14 Anakin could have just as easily cut his hand off to stop him, I think the reason he killed him was due to the fact that he was basically asking for it
There was also a very subtle hint of the Imperial March theme in “Brain Invaders” when Ahsoka talks about how Anakin is ready to do what needs to be done. It’s a great moment.
Anakin was definitely destined for the dark side. Kenobi said it himself that Anakin was loyal to people, and not principles. No matter the cost, if Anakin knew it would save someone he loved, he would do it.
@@davidcone1433 seems so odd then that the plan was to keep Anakin from his kids. he would do anything for padme, even turning to the dark side, he would do anything for his kids even turning to the light side. just give him his kids and old palpy would be dead in a week.
@@edwxx20001 I don't see that at all. After all, he immediately tried to make Luke his Sith apprentice when they met and it was only because Luke had already had a full childhood of morals and experience, terrible experience that he so vehemently refused; and it was that refusal that forced Vader to the Light. If Vader had his kids from the start, yes he would have likely turned on Palp in as much as a few years...but only to ensure that he and he alone had control over his children's destinies. And it would be control, they would be raised as his Sith apprentices and he would simply be the new Emperor of a fascist, genocidal Empire. Come to think of it, this would actually make for an interesting story, as Anakin does care so deeply for his kin and i think without Sheev whispering in his ear so much, more of Anakin would come through in Vader. So perhaps he would not actually teach them so much the psychotic competitiveness of the Sith and try to have an actual family unit, maybe even dote on them in some strange sick way. He would of course still be a Darksider, man with poor self control and anger issues, and a practicing Sith Lord, so he would be terribly abusive to them, and it is likely that Luke and Leia (or just one) would eventually try to break free. Vader would of course be much more physically threatening, able to perfect his suit, but without Palpatine's ancient Sith wisdoms, Vader would need to scour the galaxy for sith artifacts to grow stronger in the Dark Side. Whew, that was far too much. I guess this is a concept I'm interested in...I need to get on with my life now, cheers!
Idk if its me but I really like when its used subtly in the background as symbolism to the point where some wont even catch it,rather than when its used as a big bombastic orchestral theme
There is a moment in "Counterattack" where Tarkin and Anakin are in a tunnel discuss how the Jedi code ultimately inhibits them from doing whatever is necessary to win the war. You can see Anakin's doubt manifest on his face as he agrees with Tarkin's summation while the march can be heard VERY subtly in the background. I was kinda hoping to find it here, though I can't blame you for missing it.
4:17 one thing I loved about TCW was the unexpected connections to the OT. Tarkin not only shows up in a handful of episodes but we slowly see him gain influence in his limited screen time, and see that he already builds a connection with Anikan. Idk if he knew Vader’s identity, but it’s quite an interesting site to see that these two were already on a similar page before they began working together for the Empire.
Idk how the jedi council viewed this but the black robe and hood, the cold blooded killings, plus the fact anakin's just straight up using dark side techniques seems like a big red flag to me lol
i think given the fact that the jedi council literally enslaves people and generally is just rotten with corruption, they could probably make a case for the cold blooded killings BUT you'd think someone as ''traditional'' as mace windu or yoda would REALLY have something to say about anakin so openly using dark side powers (and also probably where he even learned to use them, i highly doubt obi wan taught him and i dont think palpatine would risk teaching anakin dark side powers this early, when someone could ask anakin where he learned to do them and then it would trace back to palpatine, which would definitely not be desirable for him)
4:16 my favourite Imperial March moment I don't know why I keep rewatching and smiling till my lips fall apart at two future civilisation destroyers shaking hands
I loved how you could slightly hear The Imperial March when Anakin shook Tarkin's hand. Foreshadows how they would both be the leaders of the Death Star.
Anakin was the Jedi’s biggest failure yet could’ve been their greatest success if the order just calmed down on Jedi not being able to have attachments
They really could have just made the best of what undeniably makes him so powerful, his emotion and passion. They could have worked with his greatest strengths, but chose to shun them as borderline heresy.
@@The-Ent1typrobably Vader still, cause at least anakin still had people he cares by his side reining in his destructive tendencies. Vader is literally just one hot fuse away from strangling another officer to death or wiping cities to the ground.
I find the most beloved shows are almost always the ones that dont treat their young aidience like imbeciles. I remember my dad would always watch this show with me as it was truly enjoyable/intelligent enough to entertain all ages
That’s what the best cartoons do: Avatar the Last Airbender, Samurai Jack, BTAS, Gargoyles. They treat the audience like adults despite their age and mature with them.
@@justincummings8557 which one is BTAS? My bad. Also yes samurai jack was badass and I'm so happy we got a finishing season that grew up with the audience. Also I need to watch gargoyles, I remember I watched it as a very young child but I can't remember any of it
@@lightningmonky7674 really, you could apply that idea to most of the DCAU shows (Superman the Animated Series, Batman Beyond, Justice League Unlimited, etc). All 3 of the shows I mentioned were directed (with arguable exception of Batman Beyond) towards kids, but had dark moments and dealt with serious topics very well.
Thing is, at 2:08. It wouldn't have been in cold blood. He said himself that as soon as he was clear he was going to blow up the ship. Which means it was 100% self defense and defense of everyone on the ship.
Clone Wars did a fantastic job of showing that as the series progressed. I think it's partly because the show was allowed to be more mature, but whereas the the earlier seasons were a LOT more colorful and lighthearted and fun in tone the later ones were a lot more mature and dark and at times cruel with something terrifying creeping up. Even not knowing the movies you tell evil was growing and the dawn of the Jedi and republic were turning to twilight. I mean the plot lines themselves. They went for joking around with enemy general to the freaking umbara arc and a bombing conspiracy and maul brutally slaughtering Jedi and breaking into a citidal made to hold dark Jedi. The moment they went from armor to robes you could feel episode 3 creeping along.
I absolutely love how years later after repeatedly watching these episodes I’m still surprised to see how many moments in the clone wars had this theme. Also I still get a good laugh at how Fox seriously thought two ( could have been more ) clones with shock staffs would intimidate Anakin. By this point Anakin literally almost killed Dooku 😂.
I mean, it's officially titled as the Theme for the Empire But let's be real. We all know exactly who it was who walked into the room anytime that theme played
I love the use of it in this show because every time it plays it for shadows his fall to the dark side by showing the cracks in his faith in the republic and the Jedi order beginning to show
There was a scene in the Clone Wars Movie where Anakin pulled his lightsaber on Jabba the Hutt. The Imperial March was heard in the background. Nevertheless, great video!
Merrick: who will pronounce themselves a cold blooded killer? Anakin: allow me to introduce myself In all seriousness before his fall I’m sure he killed only when needed. And with good reason. After his fall and becoming Vader, his rage and self hatred blinded him and to let it out he just lashed out on anyone who gave him an excuse to. Also I just realized something. The castle that the Father and his children resided in at 4:15 looks exactly like Vaders castle in Rogue One! Why did I never notice that before!
not true, because the republic's methods are far more tame and civil then the empire's for instance, the republic specifically fought slavers in the clone wars, while the empire used slavery themselves.
@@shiby1860 in Phantom Menace they literally point out how slavery is "illegal" but nobody cares to enforce it in the Outer Rim on top of the Jedi hypocrisy which only freed Anakin since his mother had no value for the order. Its build around the entire topic that the republic cares mostly about the center worlds and to some extent about the mid-rim which led to uprising of the seperatists. The seperatist leadership in opposition to the actual movement cause however also included all the corporate leaders which benefited from slavery - thus this slavers work with the seperatists in CW to point out that both sides of the war were rodden from the start because they were merely tools for a greater power.
My favorite part about 2:20 is how the music starts triumphant - because Anakin saved the day - but then turns so dark - because Anakin will use the same sort of justification to do worse and worse things throughout his life.
The second clip never fails to make me laugh. He’s just like “Are you kidding me, you’re confessing your love right now of all times and I have to be here for it!” 😂
It’s been years and I still feel like Kenobi faking his death was the wrong move knowing he’s like a Father/Big brother to Anakin this is exactly how I be feelin everytime one of my homies die so it’s like don’t even play like that
I miss the old star wars music....shit was so soulful and full of mystical energizes....it can inspire visions of war and peace, love and hate....honestly it is just art
When Anakin saw his visions of him as Vader saying that he will do such terrible things bro you have know idea just how terrible. Have anyone of you seen Kenobi EP 3 showed us just how savage Vader really can be.
Missed the one where obi wan speaks to anakin just after the son shows him his future and anakin says. "You dont understand what i will have to do to end the clone war"
0:23 I love the detail of Anakin only gently moving the droid despite being angry, as if to make it clear he wasn't angry at the droid and just targeting his rage on everything and everyone.
