Between this and the JBL Bass Pro Nano, which one deliveres more of the low end punch? I just installed some aftermarket Focal speakers in my Jetta Hybrid and lost a lot of low end (65hz and below) compared to the stock full range. The mids and highs now sound so much better, but I'm looking to refill those missing lower frequencies and possibly make the low end sound better than what my stock used to produce. Your input would be much appreciated.

Have you tried the powerbass sta-10, have one in our suv and it's pretty decent for a underseat! Spec is good too when compared to rival units .

I have had them installed under the front seat in 2 cars and they are not bad but definitely going to try to install in the back for my new RAV4 lol

Sounded good in the cargo Area in the spare tire well. We’ve done them under the seat too but in the area we installed it in it gave the woofer space to resonate in the cab instead under the seat. I thought I’d sounded very good in that area

I believe the further away the better. It gives the bass waves more space to develop for the driver.

Looking at putting 1 sub under each of the front seats in my 87 4runner to go with my alpine s components. Is there anything cheaper that would work? I don’t listen to bass heavy music and have 6x9 coax in back with 4” components and tweeters up front

I don't understand if put it in the spare tire area in a wagon type vehicle doesn't it need more ventilation to get the sound out since the flooring comes down on top of that area.

I had a good one in Japan. It was worth it for listening in the car. But if you're trying to annoy the neighbors, no. I had the sound ordinance 8 inch from crutchfield. It was good.

I have this sub, got it installed, then my battery got disconnected for a new one later. Now my stereo is back to demo. Figured out how to get the sub turned on through head unit but how do I set the stereo to not blow this sub but get the most out of it for great sound?

All in 1 Sub units need to be categorized because there are levels to these products. The p300T RFosgate i have is definitely better than anything that will fit under a seat. It's also bigger so that's to be expected.

Really depends on the vehicle. I'm planning on adding this sub to a Class B RV, under the driver's seat. There's really no good place for anything larger.

It's worth it because not everyone, in fact most people are not wanting car audio to be built to enter SPL Drag races. I'm looking at adding one of these types of low profile subs to my current ride to get me more of that full spectrum audio, plus my head unit has built in high pass and low pass filters so that I can roll off deep bass from my fronts and rear speakers allowing them to not have to work as hard. 😎👍

Doesn't really do any good to demo audio clips over YT. We're only gonna hear what our laptop or phone speaker will reproduce. It's better to describe what your hearing or use a Db meter and a demo disc (or app) to show us the Db difference at a given frequency in the car with the sub and without.

I wish you had tested this in a smaller car because I'm not sure it was meant for a vehicle with such a large cabin. I'm looking to get this for my Lotus Esprit, and since it's a two-seater with no trunk - literally the only place to put it would be under either seat.

Suitable for hatchbacks or any small car. For small SUV above component system is better. One thing I dont fancy this setup is if it gets damaged you lose whole bass system while in component system one gets damaged you save another. Like a sub blows atleast you have the amplifier and you can just get another sub replacement.

Ok set to 80hz on the crossover but you have to tune the amp according to the distorded output of the stereo since you cannot set the gain from the speaker output of the amp since its internal.

Installed under drivers seat today. There is a pretty decent amount of bass but its not anything impressive its just a filler

Thanks for your comment. Under the seat doesn’t really give the bass a chance to travel and develop… if you have time and are willing try under the back seat or behind it if you can. In the car we put it in I was surprised with how good it sounded but it was away from the drivers seat enough for the bass to resonate around the cab. Under the driver seat really doesn’t give it that ability….

@@BreakersStereo I'll try moving it to the center hump and see if that helps. Only a few days till the return deadline for Amazon. I have been doing some more research and I think I'm going to end up doing a single 8 in the storage under the rear seats. If I combine the jack and storage compartments I can get about .7 ft of air. .65 ft after my sound deadening and a couple layers of fiberglass. I'm thinking a single 8 would do best. Either sealed or with a passive. Looking at dd sl608 and the earthquake slaps m8 tuned at 34hz which is the fs of the sl608 im hoping this will center my frequency peak around there. Any advice on woofer choice or enclosure design is appreciated greatly.

If you can fit an SL610 under there in a sealed box, do it! The SL608 is decent but needs a ported box to play its best. The SL610 or SL612 can easily handle 600 W RMS power and either one plays well below 30 hz in a sealed box. DD just released loaded SL enclosures, the SL608 is in a ported box but the SL610 and SL612 are in sealed boxes. The SL608 ported box is bigger than the SL610 sealed box. I installed 2 SL612s under the cargo floor of my SUV in a custom 1.5 cu ft sealed box, gave them 1500 W RMS, and they sound amazing with zero loss of cargo space.

Just too much of a compromise my 8 inch Audison is the smallest I would go. I usually go with 12s but needed the space. Even tried a shallow mount 12 inch Rockford p3 that didn't do it for me

At that point you are better off with a regular system, amplifier and ported box with maybe two 12" woofers.

I took your recommendation on the alpine ilx 507 ND it is garbage features are nice if they work android auto goes in and out touch response is iffy I answer ND the audio it comes out of the mic ND I triple checked everything my old pioneer from Walmart 300 bucks was much better and cost 300 bucks I can't believe alpine released something like my 1st alpine ever buying ND it's going to be returned so please change that better to worst Ur review dual is better

Those units have been solid for us. Try a software Update. If that doesn’t work call alpine tech. 1-800-tech-101
