Good video. I'm thinking about using this plugin to clone a word press I have but only to get the same look and use it for a new website (new hosting, new domain name, etc). The new website will be in a different niche, and I only need the structure of the other website (plugins, theme, setup...). Can this be done with the All in One WP Migration Plugin? Thank you!

Question: When you saved the permalinks they were saved as backup.oldwebsite/postname can they be renamed so that they are not on the subdomain (backup).oldwebsite to domainname/postname?

what about the links from the copied site to the destination site. once imported on the destination site (where the new destination domain name will be), won't all the links on the website feature the copied domain name and not the destination domain name?

what about if the process sticks on the 100% green bar and does not go to the next step that says to proceed?

Hello - I migrated from a Live server to a localhost after I created the database. Even, though the transfer worked, my new website doesn't exist in the Theme window. It is not there. Do you know why?

so for me what happened is - first import was stuck at 68%. I stopped it and redid import and was at 98% but stuck again. I stopped and redid it again and is stuck at 100% with nothing happening. . Any suggestions guys??

Thanks for this. I got to the 100% but the system seemed to "hang", although perhaps I should have waited longer? Are you aware of it "hanging" at the final stage?

I've downloaded proper file and it's not uploading to empty wp instalation at all. It always stops around 20% and nothing happens. My file is 180MB and I made proper changes in htaccess to have possibility upload over 300mb. Tried 10 times and still nothing. Any recomendations?

I am migratng 2 sites to siteground...both are over a gig (one is 15 gigs)--will this method work well at NO COST? Site ground will do each for $30 -- please advise

Yes the links will redirect properly once you update your permalinks twice at the end of the process.

Awesome video! I am developing a site on my sub domain for a client, which I plan to migrate to their hosting to replace their old outdated html website on Godaddy. When I transfer the site over using this method will it automatically overwrite my clients existing site or do I need to take an additional step to get rid of their current site? Please advise if you can. Thanks!

When it's exported and ready for download it says it's going to be 348 MB but it downloads as a file that's only 67 bytes large.... thoughts?

I basically just need a copy of the site and don't want to migrate( just duplicate) my question is: Once I export the files of the existing site - will that site still exist? I hope that makes sense

The answer is yes. I just like to say that if you are moving the website to a new domain, then the website will still exist under the old domain. But if you are moving the website to a new host under the same domain, there won't be any 'old website' version existing. Why? Because when you are migrating a website to a new host under the same domain, you will have to (after backing up/ exporting the entire website to your computer) add the new host's nameservers to the domain.

Just contact your host and ask for an increase in upload size. That's what I did and had it sorted about five minutes. I'm with Bluehost.

Please tell everyone that common problem in import is that it stuck out in between and........ the next solution people will find out that they will use the FTP to upload the file and will do the backup........ and back restore is paid and will ask for $69. Further they will try to downgrade the all in one migration plugin version to 6.3 or nearby. BUt that is also not possible. overall all in one plugin is a waste.. do not use it... the upgrade version is totally not useful...... go for some other method......................

I have the same kind of question: will it update all the urls to the new urls? and another question: I guess one would have to migrate to a different domain name... or can one do the same when moving a domain name to a new provider? i.e. keeping the same url? Thanks

Hi Sabina once you have transferred the files and database, you will need to save the permalinks on your new site twice and the urls will work properly. Yes you are basically transferring your current site over to a new website so you will need a new domain name for the new website. If you are moving to a new provider that is a different process because in that case you are not transferring your website's files to a new domain but rather to a new host. I hope this makes sense.

Wait. What about the DNS settings. You didnt' repoint the DNS to the new site? How will the links work if you don't? They are going to reference the old site.

Anyone can do this. The real question is: what if my site is more than 40Mb? The answer, you need to buy a plugin that allows you to migrate a > 40Mb site. You should start by saying this since most people will get the wrong idea the all-in-one plug is free. Not really.

send me a dm on ig: abdellche, you can get the "paid version" for free. I just did it and I have unlimited storage. Or you can basically just search it up. The trick is to download the old version 6.77. This one gives you unlimited storage.

Hi I'm going to use this to migrate a site from a domain to a different domain with different hosts. Will the links change and such especially for seo? I also want the ask.. The website is an ecommerce so it's a bit heavy. 235 mb to be exact. The import file is 120 mb. How do I import it?

Hi Gary, the links will change to reflect the url of the new domain. You will have to contact your web host and ask them to increase the size of the data you can import.

Contact your host and ask for an increase in upload size. I'm with Bluehost and it took all of five minutes to get it sorted. Just use the online chat facility.
