Narboris is a scary lil thing, its something about the cloudiness mixed with lightning and seeing that towering shadow with red lights just makes me queasy, oh...and its roar, downright scary. Its why its my fav
I really love how they introduce the Divine Beasts. And I also love that you can see them in the far distance. I mean I saw Vah Medoh back when I was at the Great Plateau. And I would never guess that it would be a dungeon. :D
Naboris scares the crap out of me, not ONLY because it's the tallest, but its movements and roars are the most "robotic", and I fear giant machines... x~x
They refer to Naboris and all the Divine Beasts are of the the female gender :v (And if you add that Urbosa refers to her as a Gerudo and in the Gerudo Citadel in BOTW there are only women... Contradict your argument) :V:
The music that plays in each cutscene is the beast's dungeon music... that feeds directly into the eerie feeling the dungeons created when you entered them the first time, damn this is some good shit
KJayM 6302 Which ones are reassuring then, vah ruta and vah medoh? That's what I think. Naboris and Rudania are intimidating to me, except for the part Yunobo sees daruk. The way the face opens is scary.
aliciadori me too, is like something you don't want to mess with but you just want it. The way it walks, the way it moves. It's a miracle, if only botw was real. I WOULD STEAL THE DIVINE BEAST AND RIDE THEM!! Too bad I can't draw them
If you thought that giant mechanical behemoth lumber slowly through the desert was scary enough, think again. I was lost in the desert and just so happened to find myself in the giant storm Naboris was in. I did this before getting myself a Sand Seal. The thing roared a terrifying roar and immediately locked onto me. Luckily, I teleported out of there at the last second before the damn thing could take me out with its thunder blast.
It lowkey kinda hurts watching these cutscenes and reminding yourself "Oh yeah, hey, the ghosts of the fallen champions, the beasts' respective pilots, are currently TRAPPED inside those." Vah Ruta and Vah Naboris' intros are _especially_ intimidating.
I asked my friend where vah ruta was because it was the easiest one, he said bottom left, boom. Vah naboris. An hour later of me fighting it he said, “I meant bottom right” I was forever angry
I heard naboris was the hardest so i decided to do it last, but thought it was in the top right of the map and i just went with it and did it. I had seen my brother do the divine beasts so i expected them, but was still terrified at naboris.
I love that you can clearly two from the Plateau (Medoh in the sky and Rudania if you look closely at Death Mountain) and that Naboris can be seen on the cliffs near the desert just walking around.
You actually can see Ruta's trunk jutting out of the water from the cliffs leading to Zora's Domain, though I didn't know what it was when I first saw it.
And when I saw Naboris from the desert cliffs I actually thought it was a walking ship of desert pirates-do not ask why. When I saw Ruta on the way to Zora’s Domain I stared at it for so long trying to figure out what it was before moving on. And I didn’t see Rudania until the intro cutscene.
They're all really cool, but I've always liked the Gerudo so I'm a little biased. Vah Naboris is the most intimidating to me although because of its massive height and the fact that it moves around where the player can walk. I also think it would be cool to see the beasts, espiecially Vah Naboris, in action while being piloted. Anyone else agree?
When they scream at you, Ruta: Help me Medoh: EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!! Naboris: Another visitor.. Scream at them Rudania: GO AWAYYYYYY
Ruta-i want to make friends but im too shy Medoh-someone below is blocking me from gravity and im zcared Naboris-im a fog horn that doesnt do any use but scare the ghosts away cause im scary :P Rudania-HOLY F*** I JUST BURNED MYSELF CALL 911 IM HAVING A PANIC ATTACK
Rudania got morning issues. He be like: UGH I JUST GOT UP BRO, CAN YOU STOP HITTING MEH!?! IT *HURTS!* DAAAAAAAD, LINK IS HITTING ME WITH A GIANT FLYING GORON!
I remember the first Divine Beast I heard, Vah Ruta, I was thoroughly freaked out. But there was something melancholic and dark about the scene. After I learned that the Champions had died and were trapped in the Divine Beasts--who were pretty much sick with Ganon's malice--when I moved on to Medoh's cutscene, the screech was just very sad to me. Like it was crying for help. It's still the saddest Divine Beast noise to me. Naboris still scares the daylights out of me though.
Same. Ruta and Medoh were my favorites, they are the only 2 I did, cause I never bothered finishing the game. XD I would need to pick it up and go do Rudania and Naboris, but I feel going to them is such a pain, need to have a dude on the mountain with me and then I have to go fetch an heirloom in a assassin den and it feels like yikes will I survive? I only managed to clear Ruta and Medoh thanks to youtube videos of how to clear them thoroughly, of course the fun part is then having to do it too and hope you don't die too much trying.
When I first saw naboris just stomping around in the desert I was terrified. The fact that all divine beasts are always there (seeing rudania on death mountain even from afar) is so freaky.
When I first encountered vah Naboris, I was heading to gerudo town because it looked cool. When I landed from paragliding, its cutscene played and I thought it was coming to me. I made a miiverse post and teleported away
Why I think Vah Naboris is absolutely terrifying. - Vah Naboris's walk seems so eerie to me. I almost feel like it's exhausted and ready to just collapse into the desert's harsh dunes - It's cry sounds like it's in pain and is calling for you to put it out of it's misery. - In the background of it's music (like with all the divine beasts) you can hear the signals SOS and SAD. (For those of you which don't know, SAD is Search And Destroy) - The sandstorm it kicks up lowers visibility to an extent. While bot super terrifying, it still gives me a little anxiety - Lightning scares me haha
S.O.S. for save our souls “...- - -...” The general theory is that the Morse code is in all of the beast soundtracks because the champions called for help as they were being killed.
I feel like these intros have more impact at night. I'd usually spent my time coming from across the map fighting smaller enemies barely getting by on low hearts and often getting lost... Suddenly, not even knowing where I was, Vah Rudania roars from the top of the mountain or Vah Medoh screeches in the sky and the realization of not only having to fight them but free your trapped companions truly kicks in.
@@MrNoLife. I actually had a blood moon cutsecene immediately follow the Vah Naboris cutscene. Back to Back. Shame it didn't show both at the same time.
Imagine living with these things for a century, knowing it was once protecting your land from monsters and one of the most beloved and revered person in your community was it's pilot. Only for that person to never return and the machine is now screaming and on a constant rampage. I suppose the only consolation is that unless Link tells them, most people probably don't know the spirits of the champions are trapped within the corrupted beasts, powerless to stop the pain it inflicts on their people.
Actually no, the divine beasts deactivated once zelda held back ganon, and remained dormant, but a little before link woke up, ganons power was gaining stronger, and the beasts reactivated, therefore only terrorizing the civilizations for a few weeks. Thats why everyone was so panicked, and why the towns weren’t destroyed yet. It had only recently happened
what freaks me out is the fact no one is even piloting the beasts, almost like they are possessed. It’s so creepy and if u think harder, u can just imagine the champions bodies somewhere, decaying in the divine beast.
I remember when I first got this game and was aimlessly walking around straight after the great plateau (I didn't care about Impa then) and I heard a roar that sent chills down my spine, the camera panned to a big cloud of smoke, then when it showed Naboris walking around I realised "maybe it's a good idea to get impa after all!" Despite my thoughts I started to run over to it thinking I could take it on but then I saw it's actual size, the rest is self explanatory
do you think they're trying to warn link off, or they're calling for help? when medoh *SCREAMED* i heard a deeper growl underneath. that sounds like a blight to me.
The Divine pieces are trying to hide the horror inside of them Vah naboris: it makes a sandstorm to keep people away Vah ruta: it makes a shield to keep you way Vah meadoh: it uses a gun and a shield to keep you away with two people but if it's one person it removes the floor Vah rundia:uses lave rocks and drones to keep it safe
Out of all them, Vah Naboris had to be the most intimidating. Vah Medoh is just “Hey guys..... don’t come up here or you’ll get capped. Lol” when I first started breath of the wild, I saw Medoh flying over and I saw a huge thundercloud (the thunder plateau) and originally thought “So his deal is creating giant storms and messing with the Rito in the event they decide to try and fly. Pretty cool.”
Why are they concerned. Ruta: The Zoras are scared of the heavy rainfall it is causing. Rudania: The Gorons are worried that it will cause everything to be crushed by the falling boulders. Naboris: The Gerudo are scared of a huge sand/lightning storm hitting the town. Medoh: SOME BIRD IS FLYING AND THATS ALL THERE IS TO IT.
Dat Jigglypuff kinda... but there's more to it than just that for Ruta and medoh for ruta the Zora's are afraid of losing the hylyans and medoh has attacked the rito tribe
Luke Wisniewski well actually, the ritos were frightened by vah medoh because none of them couldn't leave the village because if they try to fly away, vah medoh will try to laser them and they'll get hurt really really badly.
Vah Ruta: trumpets like an elephant Vah Medoh: cries like a hawk Vah Naboris : CAMELS DO NOT SOUND LIKE THAT!!!! Vah Rudania : The lizard roars...ok...makes sense since it’s based off a mythological salamander instead of a real animal
@@rainwitchansy makes sense seeing how botw has multiple references to past games and I guess they couldn’t find an animal that represents eldin. Although I might have gone with a salamander
If I recall correctly, Naboris is the only of the four which wasn’t being a direct threat to the region it resided in. Rudania was raining magma bombs onto the Gorons, disrupting gem mining. Ruta was threatening to flood all of Hyrule. Medoh was shooting down any Rito who tried to take flight. But Naboris? It was just wandering in circles, only attacking if someone drew close. Stay away from Naboris, and you’d be fine.
Well actually one of the Gerudo in the Bazaar said that they wondered when Naboris was going to get too close. Basically it was moving across the desert where it would eventually find it's way to civilization. If it were to make it to Gerudo town. Naboris would kill everyone. Basically making the wasteland, an actual wasteland.
@@kieranmcallister2017 i was exploring the outside mountains of eldin and suddenly i see rudania walking in the volcano and i was like "THE HELL WAS THAT??" and i walked towards him but i had to go because the heat
The music during these cutscenes give me chills. I feel so bad for them, considering that they have some sort of consciousness past the robotical nature of them.
Ok but for me the creepiest divine beast was Rudania mostly because I was climbing up the wrong side of death mountain (I hadn’t figured out roads yet so I decided to make the climb from the Akkala side) and then I just saw this giant ass lizard above me and I was terrified because I did not expect that.
when I was at the Gerudo desert, of course it's very foggy but instead of getting the cutscene, the camera just pans to Naboris and tried to shock me with purple thunder. It's almost the same when I'm trying to reach Goron City before those lava rocks come bugging me
The Calamity signs of red on Naboris makes it very intimidating. And it’s cry is horrifying to hear in a desert with nothing around you. It almost sounds like a dunes ghost.
it’s when you accidentally walk too close to naboris while exploring and see the little electrical cutscene and then run away for dear life that i get scared
Remembering the first time I stepped into the desert, it was dark and Vah Naboris’s cutscene played. I was so scared lmao I literally ran in the opposite direction 😳😭 I was like nope I can’t do this anymore (not to mention it was the first divine beast I had encountered)
Naboris has the scariest roar of them all. Naboris = Scary and intimidating as fuck Rudania = Intimidation and creepy Ruta = Big ass, water spouting elephant, the cry scares me too. Medoh = Incredible Eagle in the sky....only flying around. Not so scary, yet it is a divine beast and watching him in the sky is rather unnerving My order of completion (Normal Mode) - Rudania - Ruta - Naboris - Medoh My order of completion (Master Mode) - Ruta - Rudania - Medoh - Naboris
Naboris is easily the scariest bc it’s SO CLOSE to Gerudo Town, like it could just walk 15 seconds over to Gerudo town or Kara Kara bazaar and obliterate everyone in the Gerudo desert, but for me the least scary is Rudania because it says during the main quest it can’t get to Goron City due to the bridge being up
Naboris be all like: ~"These hooves were made for stompin' That's just what they'll do. One of these days these hooves are gonna stomp all over Gerudo."~
I'm starting to think I was the only one when I saw the divine beast cut scene for Naboris (the first dv cutscene I got) I thought it was coming towards me XD...so being the noob that I was I went towards it thinking it was time for a epic battle
One time I had a nightmare that Vah Naboris came to life and was in my town. I couldn't see it but I could hear its cry and even worse nobody who was around me was even caring and told me not to worry about it even though his cry and stomping was getting louder and louder minute by minute.
Only thing I knew about BotW before I played it was the you could have Link crossdress. So obviously I beelined it to the desert asap. Little did I know, that was supposedly the hardest place. Also, seeing Vah Naboris walking around in the sandstorm before ever even watching the cutscene, or even knowing what it was (from way up on the mountains around Spectacle Rock) was extremely nerve wracking. Kinda like seeing Farosh fir the first time without even knowing he was a thing. Still so glad I wasn't spoiled for this game before playing it.
My order: Vah Medoh - First one I saw Vah Ruta: I happened to be near Zora's domain when exploring, so I figured I'd go there next. Vah Rudania: I love the gorons, and Vah Rudania is easily the most badass. Vah Naboris: I never really knew the Gerudo that well, I also figured it would be the hardest. I never actually used the tracking points on the map...
The sad thing is, is that you can picture Mipha, Revali, Urbosa, and Daruk watching helplessly as each Divine Beast strikes fear in everyone by those fierce cries.
About 4 years ago I was in gerudo desert but then when the Vah naboris cut scene played I actually got a little scared because of the way it roars and how it looks I was playing at night
My first playthrough was •Ruta (Easy) •Naboris (I died like 10 times) •Medoh (Because death Mountain is annoying if you dont have the right armor) •Rudania (You know why)
What i think is happening when they roar is either them calling for help or warding link off, not because the're evil, but because the champions souls have inhabited the divine beasts themselves and that they are warding link off so that way he does not end the same way Mipha, Revali, Daruk, And Urbosa did.
I feel like naboris is the most terrifying because there’s a whole damn sand storm around it and it’s so ominous.. vah ruta’s my favorite though because it feels like it’s crying out for help and it rising from the water is so majestic
Ruta's honestly had to be the most unsettling....the background theme as well as it's crys of pain really made it seem like it was just in pain with everyone watching and not helping
Can ruta made me sad. It just felt like it was drowning calling for help. Vah rudania felt scary cause I thought it would charge to goron city. Vah naboris was terrifying, I got the cutscene at night so it added to the fear this beast would mindlessly destroy the towns. While vah medoh I was like "how the fuck am I gonna get up there?!"
I mentioned it to someone, not sure who, but I had the idea a while ago that the Divine Beasts crying out when Link arrives is the Champions trying to call for help.
My main problem with this game is, there really isn’t that much urgency to stop the Divine Beasts. Ruta nailed this though as there was the threat of over flowing the lake, and the Zora couldn’t fix this due to the being vulnerable to shock arrows that’s why they needed you. Medoh wasn’t that great though. It apposed no real threat other than being dangerous to go near. It was just, there. Rudania wasn’t that good either, it did make certain things not be able to happen, like mining operations, but it didn’t appose any time related threat for survival like Ruta. Just another nuisance. Naboris was kinda the same. It wondered the desert, and the Gerudo did fear it getting to close to the town and destroy it, but that’s pretty much it. It was just a scary beast looming close. If Ganon had real plans to destroy Hyrule, he would use the Blights to control each Beast and take control of the Zora, Goron, Gerudo, and Rito. His main plan has to have been stop the Champions from gaining control over the Divine Beasts, and let his Blights keep watch to insure his Safety. But he doesn’t use them as a weapon, creating HIS downfall.
Vah Ruta: is causing the East Reservoir where to fill up with water anymore and it will eventually burst flooding not only Zoras Domain but the entirety of the Lanayru region it can also hurl thousands of ice blocks at trespassers. Vah Rudania: has been causing Death Mountain to become extremely active making mining difficult for Gorons as well as frequent eruptions making the Eldin region hotter than usual. Vah Naboris: has been hurling bolts of lightning everywhere in the Gerudo region these lightning strikes also create sand Storm's and ever since the Yiga stole the Gerudo heirloom known as the Thunder helm Gerudo town has been incredibly vulnerable to lightning strikes. Vah Medoh: Is armed with countless amounts of weaponry aerial equipment would be shot out of the sky immediately this includes the Rito themselves grounding all the Rito troubling the hebra region
You forgot to mention that Medoh flies so high that only a Rito would stand a chance of boarding it. And any Rito brave enough to try would be slaughtered or be too injured to do anything once they boarded the thing. And of course, anyone that does manage to board the divine beast will have to find a way to unlock the terminals. Plus, they'll have to deal with a variation of Gannon that even their champion couldn't defeat. So without Link, everyone is doomed to the calamity caused by the divine beast. And Hylia help them once Gannon got loose.
1:48 I remember getting myself lost and finding the desert. When I saw that, I was kinda freaked out. Because there's this noise and suddenly I'm seeing what looks like a friggin AT-AT from Star Wars but steampunk. It was both cool and horrifying at the same time.
Naboris is by far the most intimidating. Its low, echoey roar while it stomps through the desert, creating an electrifying sandstorm around it. It doesn't help that the boss inside it is super difficult (at least for me).
Everybody be talkin about how scary Naboris is, meanwhile I’m over here wondering how the heck Medoh hasn’t fallen from the tower and crushed Rito Village already.
Medoh: u can see me when ur sleeping Rudainia: look at the middle of death mountain Naboris: go to wasteland tower. Ruta: lets play hide and seek but im almost impossible to find
It's such a bummer that the Divine Beasts have such a small role in the game overall. I really wish the Divine Beast quests took at least 5 hours each to complete, rather than 30 minutes each.
