Eliza is to some Extent a God (Inside which is a Parasite Called Sekhmet in Honor of the Egyptian God) She is Helped by Two other Gods Albus and Horace (Who are Also Named after the Egyptian Gods Anubis and Horus) and in this Color Scheme they are Similar in Color to The World from the Manga and JoJo HFTF

Araki based Jotaro from Blondie from AFOD, so... the circle is complete? (Former) Lab Zero are huge anime fans, and couldn't pass this chance up, given that ASW published their game even on retail format in Japan. It took years (and many gacha salt in SGM) to being able to get the JP voices in Steam...

I've never seen a SkullGirls game before except for a short video about a reference to the ora ora. But damn, I love the animation of the game. The way that music man lets out smoke after the ora ora special, or the ways that Egyptian goddess girl stands up with her skeleton before the rest of her body. Those characters exude too much personality from just their animations.

When creating the video, I planned to divide it into two parts ("references in which I am sure" and "in which there are not"). There was no separation. Therefore, I think about the gods as a possible JoJo reference. And if you read the description, then I described in more detail why I think so.

Eliza's "Osiris Spiral" is a different move, where her main weapon twirls around her body as it gradually reveals Sehkmet. The one showcased at 6:20 is actually called "Butcher's Blade", where Sehkmet leaves Eliza's body to attack as shown.

8:21 The attacks named after the gods might also be references to Hol Horse, Hol + Boingo, and Polnareff. Hol Horse has a special where J. Geil comes up from the ground under the opponent, Hol + Boingo has a super where a car crosses the screen and hits the opponent, and Polnareff has a special where Silver Chariot dives toward the opponent from the top of the arena.

Anubis (Albus) in SkullGirls sounds like Stroheim, but has Daniel J. D'Arby's voice. Anubis in JoJo's is practically a carbon copy of Enki Bilal's design and sounds like Kenshiro & Stroheim at the same time. Horace is Okuyasu, looks like Baron Tamago from One Piece in his chicken/egg form

Not sure, but I think Valentine’s Checkmate move is also a somewhat a reference to Sakura Iyazoi from the Touhou Project? Kinda unrelated but worth mentioning I guess.
