1:07 is a 300D Turbo, based on the acceleration speed. The hp number (147) fits the turbo version, but the torque number displayed (210 instead of 273) is from the N/A 24V 300D (OM606).
I have experience with a 250D, 230TE and 280TE. The 280TE things are ( still ) becoming more serious, even for todays standards with this engine you can overtake many modern lease-cars ;) The 124 generation will always be one of my heroes, al of them. But wow, a 420 or 500 whohoo, still pretty fast. Ok, a Tesla model-S does have acceleration speeds around 3 sec? Imagine that those Mercedes generation is over 30 years old by now....
@@lanceproductions9754 e420 has a different fuel injection system 400e had a bosch ke-jetronic which was discontinued in 1993 when the e420 came out and they dont even have the same power delivery or torque curve
@@Teo9497 To be honest, I can‘t tell. The 250d consumes way less than the 300d which is weird because the 300d is the same engine but with an added cylinder. The 300d runs way smoother and less noisy from the inside. Both of my 124s have a 5 speed manual transmission.
@@mckokiner I don't know, is my old beat up daily driver, i never got around to have the hp tested. In general, those cars would have MORE than quoted power, and if well maintained they will last for a long long time. In case of hp drops, there is something wrong to be looked at. Mine had the injection pump tuned after i bought it, and it made a lot of a difference.
@@jmbpinto73 good to hear mate and may it serve you well for another 800k i would wait until 1million and then get it tested it would be interesting to know. 👊
hahaaa, w124 is an old model but the e500 was just 1,5 seconds slower than a modern day koenigsegg=DD im dissapointed that you didnt include any of the amg, brabus or hammer models here! I see that all of them had aut gearbox. w124 had a very durable gearbox but it was slow as hell, almost like it had down syndrome=P seriously dislike that shit and to not release e500 with manual was a fkn disgrace!
@@pavlog7370: No, it's not. The big "T" stands for Touristik & Transport which means it's the T-model or station wagon or estate car depending on where you're from. So the 300 TD is a standard Diesel station wagon and does not have a turbo Diesel engine. The Germans call it a "Kombi" in general. Opel calls it Caravan, Ford says Turnier - in Europe at least - and Mercedes has got the T-model. There is a Mercedes 300 TE as well and that one does not have a turbo injection engine. It's the station wagon with standard injection. Mercedes did not have turbos in petrol engines back then.
