I swear teachers are gonna be showing these type of shorts in class, I would 😂. "I can give you a 20 minute explanation on top crust washes or you can watch this short"
Agree self taught pastry chef been able to make tiramisu from scratch lady finger and everything pie have always been my weakness thanks . I would like to see how they make there pie dough
I'm from a country that doesn't have pies like these as a regular cultural thing, but I always wanted to try making them because they look very tasty. Thanks for the tips! You are very eloquent and your instructions are easy to follow!
So nice to hear! I grew up in the USA were pies are pretty common. But good ones aren’t so much. I grew up with a mother who made pies. So I make them too inspired by her. But it’s always good to see new tips just when you think you knew everything! This is a really great place to get them.
I'm sorry this is extremely helpful and there's barely any likes! You've earned yourself a sub my friend Edit- I did this before the video gained popularity, so pls stop replying lol
This is such a fantastically succinct pie lesson! I've never come across your baking method for crust-super interesting. & The GBBO music is the cherry on top!
I used to always leave things in the over for another 30min even after they turned dry because I was so scared of having an undone pie and didn't see the harm in having it overbacked. Your videos have taught me so much, I absolutely love how you always show examples of incorrect backing! I love your chanel so much, thank you for the all the help and things you taught us!
This definitely needs more likes than it has. The time and effort he put in to make 2 different types of pies, 3 cooking types and not only that show us tips half of us probably didn’t even know! AMAZING! ❤
The tips are excellent and the way you edit with showing everything is also excellent but personally the cherry on top was the fact that you used music from Bake Off and it made me smile immediately!
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Thank you for having visual examples of each stage of pie and what each egg wash looks like, with labels. 🙏💜🙏 This is how I learn best, as do many people.
Oh my gosh your the BEST!!!😮 Thank you!!! Thank you! These are some fantastic tips! Do you know how many times I've wanted to make a pie but didn't because I was too scared of burning it!! Stuff like that hurts my feelings because I don't like burning food, especially desserts...so I just give up and don't make the pie, I know pathetic. 🤦 You have just kept me, and probably others from making alot of mistakes, (Thank you!) and helped us save money because butter and eggs and sugar and flour, and all that stuff ain't cheap no more.😔 🙏🤦 You know the saying, "you learn from practice and by trial and error..." well we didn't have to TODAY thanks to you my friend! Thank GOD! God bless you!!! Thank you again. Oh what a joy and a treat!☀️🥧🧁🍰🏆🥇🙏🕊️🧸🍰🧁🧸🍰🥧🎈❤️😊
You can save a short by liking the short and then going to your library, from there you can go to liked videos and click the three dots on the video you want to be saved on a playlist
This video is so refreshing and original and necessary. Most YT short hack vids are usually derivative, saddled with corny jokes or effects and just not worth watching. I learned a lot watching this, thank you
I love this! Give people a chance to understand where they may be going wrong. I don't make pies because it is messy/wasteful blind baking with rice (don't have beads), but I LOVE this 2 tray idea. GENIUS!
I want to try this tray idea, but in the past I've always used dried beans. I use the same beans repeatedly and just keep them in a ziploc. They're my pie-beans.
The tip for fruit pies is greatly appreciated! I've watched a lot of videos on baking pies, but nobody I've seen has mentioned this. I'll have to pay attention to the bubbles next time I get a chance to bake a pie!
I love that last tip!!! As someone who never remembers to buy pie weights long enough before I'd need them to actually have them arrive this will be a life saver
Thank you Benjamin! I love making pies, i don't do it nearly enough. It's lovely to have someone give out such helpful advice, and so clearly too. Thank you!
I’m literally baking mini sweet potatoes pies and I recalled this short - couldn’t remember your name but searched baking shorts and this exact video popped up! Love it! I’m so grateful your videos have a signature look because I was ready to scroll through your page
Thank you for the tips! With Thanksgiving and Christmas coming up, I've got a few pie orders and your tip on blind baking the crust will be an excellent addition to my process! 😁
I suck at baking. My first pie was a pumpkin pie from scratch and I didn't know I was supposed to shave it. Also didn't know that I wasn't supposed to use the big pumpkins. I should mention that I did not do any research for the pumpkin pie. I winged It with no recipe. 🤣 The only person who ate it was my sister. She said it tasted good but the texture was weird.
you're gonna be big. you make high quality videos despite the fact that your page is still small. I've only seen two of your videos but that's enough for me to sub
I get the same feeling watching you cook as I do when I watch my wife play Stardew Valley. It’s so interesting that I become invested in learning and try different methods out myself. Thank you! 😊
My family loves my pies. I just follow the old Betty Crocker recipe book my mom has. I prefer my homemade pie crust. Thank you so much for these tips so I can become even better!
Making pie is so much fun and delicious. I have been doing it for about a year now, and I have learned what not to do, and I'm always on the hunt for more tips. I like to use metal pans over glass. I have better results especially when it comes to fruit filled pies. This will always be something I need to better myself with. Thanks for the blind bake tip. I can't wait to try it out.
the way that you present information and examples is *chef's kiss*. it's so much more concise than anything I learned in culinary school. in school they don't have time to make every variation and explain the why's of every little variation, make sure everyone in class does everything correct. we all try our best to watch the chef do it and then try ourselves, sometimes it's impossible because of the technicalities, as you know, baking is complex. they'd expect us to pick up what we couldn't practice in school from reading the textbook and trying at home. needless to say it was impossible to fully grasp most concepts and to learn them properly to do them right. my chef in school would just say curse words in French/Italian and throw pans around when we royally screwed up lmao...🤣 anyway 👍 wonderful teachings sir, bravo
Oh my gosh, I always wondered what the heck was wrong with the pumpkin pies in my household. I've had good pumpkin pie before, and I knew it didn't have to be grainy and curdled, but it always was. Thank you so much!
In my 50 some years of baking I have never seen anyone make a pie crust upside down and it makes so much sense that I must say, “ why have I never heard of this before?” Thank you.
As many years as I have baked (and I started when I was a little kid), I’m still in awe of the blind baking tip. Why didn’t I think of that? It’s common sense! I always have extra pie pans! I mean, I’ve always poked holes to allow for steam to escape, but I went a step further and bought a box of pie weights. Lol. They were on sale, so I’m not too broken up over it. Thank you so much! Your foods look awesome (even the ones you use as examples of what not to do)!
