It's interesting that you don't like flying. I love it! For some reason I just really enjoy flying. I know, I'm weird! Maybe because I'm so petite I can just curl up in the seats comfortably lol. Although I do constantly fear getting in a plane crash. That's the only downside.

You are such an adventurer. I have liked going with tour groups like Trafalgar, Go Ahead, and Disney since they are in control and I travel with a group by bus or rail. When I have travelled on my own (actually, with one of my daughters), it is fun being on your own and picking what you want to do being by yourself, although tour groups do provide for free time on your own. There are trade-offs either way. Great hearing your stories.

Oh, wow, these are some crazy stories:O I had just one story which was a bit like a horror story because it was also the first time I ever flew for over 10 hours... But thank goodness I never lost my passport:O

omg it's soooo stressful !!! for the passport story at first I thought you forgot it inside the cat bag when petting the kitty hahaha glad the woman found it tho !! Me worst flight story ... I have a friend working for American Airline and so one summer she got me stand by tickets. So you go on board if there is room but it goes by category (1st people working for the company, 2nd their family, 3rd their friends) so a lot of people will go in front of me XD But the good thing is that you pay wayyyy less than a normal ticket so during holidays I didnt' care ! 1st way to DC i succeed to go and they upgrade me to business class so i was like damn best thing ever !! on my way back there was no room so i stayed 24h in DC which was fine. BTW if you have connections it's the same thing again, you wait til people board, then 1st category stand by ticket and so on. Few months later, January, I was in my last year of master, supposed to start an internship in Paris max on Feb 1st (internship I didnt have yet ...) but I decided to go to Montreal visit my boyfriend. My friend booked me on stand by ticket, perfect. Tho the night before my flight she text me saying okay the flight is cancelled due to a snow storm i'm putting you on Paris Phili and not Paris NYC. Okay no worries, I was going to go to the airport with her at 5am since she was working from like 6 til 1pm everyday as American Airline only have flight leaving Paris in the morning. I tried the flight, waited casually, everyone boarding. No room for me, of course since they moved everyone from the flight cancelled to other flights .. Then okay I was like it's part of the game ... Went back home with her and used this time to plan an interview even tho I didnt sleep much, didnt care (it went well but didnt get the job, anyway) ... Next day back to her place to go to the airport. Again NO FREAKING ROOM ON ANY FLIGHT. I tried each 3 flights there was on this day ... SO again back home ! My dad everyday was like ooh hello again XD I've been doing that for 5 DAYS ! on the 5th days, my friend was like okay you didnt get in NYC, Phili, Dallas, TRY MIAMI. I was thinking WTF Paris - Miami - Montreal what is this trip. So I went just to see and they finally called my name! While boarding I was thinking WTF AM I DOING, texting people and emailing because I had interviews scheduled on this day by skype, knowing that in Miami I could also wait a long time til I get on a flight (could sleep at the airport ...) I got room on the flight but was everytime so scared to never board and stay there ... So let say it can be a great deal but only if you have time XD Anyway good story but not fun at the time XD I could have other stories but I don't wanna write a novel XD Love from Montreal ! Oh god I’ve had a nightmare of a missed connecting flight. I had a long flight from California to JFK airport and that was fine , didn’t miss the jfk flight to land in Iceland and of course I ended up missing my connecting flight from Iceland to France ( was the airlines fault ) and they told me I had to stay over night in Iceland and leave at 4 am the next day. It took off a day in France 😭 but hey these things happen !

I have also been on a flight and hit an air pocket - absolutely terrifying and now I have a fear of flying lol!

So happy to hear that I’m not the only one shit happens to! I have the plan to live in Canada for 6 month now, arrived about a week ago BUT without my bags and they didn’t find it till now... 😫

I really enjoyed your air pocket story. One of the first times I flew we hit an air pocket and I grabbed the arms of the chair thinking we were falling in free fall. The guY next to me calmed me saying we hit an air pocket as it was OK.

I watched the whole thing, you're an amazing storyteller and I'm thankful you've been so blessed through all these situations, some could've really ended up badly (worse) 🙏 Also, on your thoughts about the last story, I would've thought it was a quarrel of some kind between soccer fans LOLOL just bc that's happened before in my country, so we all have different reactions during a big commotion 😆

Crazy stories!! Gotta love when things get crazy when traveling!! Those double flights are always a little bit stressful, especially when things get delayed! We've lost luggage before too!

Hope you have a great time in Spain! If you have time to travel around, Sevilla is one of my favorite cities and the Plaza De España there is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been in my life! If you’re in Madrid, definitely go to the Parque de Buen Retiro it’s a great green space, La Latina and Chueca are cool neighborhoods to wander around, and also check out La Pecera for cute ice creams, San Gines for churros and chocolate, and definitely try croquetas for tapas! Pasarlo bien!

Hi Tess, I have a weird question. I know u travel a lot and have been since u were young, I was just wondering if you’ve ever come across bed bugs on any of your trips. I’ve only started traveling more recently as I can afford to now but I feel like it’s not talked about enough, how frustrating it can be to find adequate sleeping situations when traveling on a budget. Those pests are so annoying and they follow you everywhere, I don’t know I guess I was hoping to see if you have any experience with them.

I had the airplane fall thing happen to me once. I was finishing up Army training in Indiana. My seat was the last row in the plane. I was hungry as hell and the last row to get served a meal. I took two bites of my food and wham; the plane pitches forward and dips. My tray bounces off the tray holder and onto the floor. So we are dropping and dropping but all I could think was. 'MY FOOD!'. Then I realized 'oh ... are we crashing? No it's not my time to die'. The stewardess I noticed turned blue, green then the color came back to her face. Everyone around me panicked but I was still thinking. Will they replace my food? They didn't. 😆
