I’m hoping the hybrid has more power. The Forester is among my favorite models but the engine just isn’t sufficient enough to consider buying one. Weighs as much as an Outback.. it should have the same turbo option.
I just hope Subaru can leave space in the hybrid model for a spare tire/donut. That's the only thing why I'm not considering a CRV hybrid. And yes, I'm over Toyota and their price gouging dealers.
No engine upgrade is deal breaker for me. Subaru said a couple years ago no future upgrades for forester engine, with the exception of gas/hybrid. Same old boring engine for years. Also the cvt tranny is made by Jatco. No thanks Subaru. Good cars, lousy drivetrains.
I love the Forester. I would buy it in a heartbeat but for the engine. It's just too underpowered. They either need to offer it with the XT or at least a hybrid producing over 225 HP combined. Until then I will enjoy my KIA Sportage Hybrid SX Prestige.
Those hexagonal copper trims on the front lower bumper look like an after thought. Like the designers had a space they needed to do something with and have just been plonked on. No integration with the overall design elements. For example why were they not integrated as the fog light design element?
I prefer the look of 2005 SUVs to the curvy “tall hatchback with tiny windows” look in style now. Classic SUVs are box shaped with maximal storage and visibility.
I'm a little upset about the cheaping out by Subaru in some areas like incandescent rear bulbs and hard plastics. This is the sort of stuff you'd expect from a Toyota or a Honda, I would've hoped that Subaru would do better than this
It would be helpful if you specified the exact cubic feet of storage in the cargo area behind the back seat instead of just saying it's large. We can then use that spec to compare cars. Thanks!
I have a 2019 forester sport. The orange trim is way way better than bronze. To me, bronze trim on any car is super ugly. On the sport model, you should be able to pick the color of the trim you want along with the car color.
It looks a lot like the current equinox but i see a little bit of the 2011 explorer. However, it looks a bit odd looking on the side, mainly because of that small awd logo on the pillar itself. Its a unique looking Subaru on the outside unlike the rest of the models. Though I hope subaru finds a new interior design because its been a copy and paste for all new models since the 2020 outback. It gets boring after seeing it used in all their products every year.
I had a 2016 Ford Explorer and it looked nothing like this. It also did not drive as well as this new Forester will. Let’s not even talk about reliability or how it handled in snow.
It looks like a small Ford Explorer. But I heard that it will be available with the RAV4 Hybrid system. If this is true then I’ll wait until the 28 year model so the bugs can get worked out and sell my 19 Forester Touring (currently only 14K miles) and buy a new Forester Touring Hybrid. I’m very disappointed with the fuel economy on my 19. My previous car was a RAV4 Limited with the 268hp 3.5 V6 and a 5spd automatic transmission, 4WD. It got Better fuel economy than my Gutless 182hp 2.5L 4 banger. The ONLY reason why I sold my RAV4 and bought my Forester was for better fuel economy, but Subaru LIED about the mpg. Other than being Gutless and the fuel economy, I do Love my Forester. It’s very comfortable and loves to run at 85mph, so it’s at home on I-90 in Montana where the speed limit is 80mph. My wife’s Outback runs best at 90mph. But here in Washington state I have to set the cruise on 75mph, or 65mph if on a highway. My rear seat passengers enjoy the heated seats. On occasions I’m wheelchair bound and my Forester is the First vehicle that I’ve ever owned that I don’t have to fold the rear seats when my wheelchair is in the back. I hope the new generation is the same. If not, I’ll go back to Toyota and buy a Venza Limited.
I like the looks of the new gen Forester. I don't care for the whatever they call it trim on both front lower corners. That's where the fog lights should be. The new CRV's have the same stupid trim & just looks totally out of place. Subaru messed up by not offering the new hybrid system @ the 25 launch. It will be interesting to see if they can incorporate Toyota's ECVT into the Symmetrical AWD system when they do introduce the hybrid or if will be something entirely different...
There is a programming joke that perfectly mirrors what these automakers are doing and it goes like this: Debugging - where you are the detective in a movie and at the same time, you are also the m|_|rd3r3r. They may give us standard driving assistance functions but also give us features that endanger us a.k.a "Let's dump almost every vehicular function in the damn infotainment screen and bury the vast majority of controls under levels upon levels of menus"...as I call it: "Tesla-ification". Dumping almost every function in the damn infotainment screen is less intuitive, far more prone to drivers fumbling on them, takes more time overall when compared to physical buttons. This move by them clearly puts fad over safety as every second counts when you are driving. Touch screen controls are great for certain applications but most definitely not for vehicular controls.
front Grill is very Ugly and it is still very under power I Hope the Hybrid version has Better design and something to Wow customers to Buy them I will pass on this trim thanks.
This looks ugly and terrible inside and out. Why buy this over Toyota, Honda, Mazda or the Koreans. Everything looks cheap, ugly and outdated. Underpowered engine with CVT and no hybrid makes this a dealbreaker.
You mean Ford Edge or Explorer? Used to sell Subarus and i really dislike the way Subaru is going. Especially with that terrible touchscreen in everything. Already looks outdated and its gonna be around for the next 6 plus years.
Thanks for the preview. Man, the styling on that is a mess. Horrible grill, horrible fender moldings that don't match the wheel shape, bad shapes all around. I want to like this, but the current gen is so much cleaner. All it needed was a better front grill, a real non-CVT tranny, & better fuel economy (hybrid?). But they went and messed it up.
They’re doing a hybrid but for some reason chose to delay it until later after launch. Seems silly not to have it ready at launch considering how long it was between redesigns
