Question, does the bonus versus infantry affect the melee attack or the weapon strengh? For example 30 Bonus vs infantry = +30 melee attack or Just weapon strengh?

They need to be able to dig anti-chariot ditches like how you could erect fortifications and barricades in Empire: Total War. :P That is the only thing that can save them now. Just dig deeper.
Dwarfs do have a few things to deal with that, but I wouldn't say no to a giant super gyrocopter heli carrier type of thing, with like a broadside of organ guns...mhh yes, please!

I'm actually pretty keen on the Silverin Guard. They fill a nice niche. Once you get to late game regular Elf spearmen aren't very viable and shielded Lothern Sea Guard aren't as numerous as you'd want. The silverin guard look like a good late game option for a frontline.
Usually I would go with phoenix guard like everyone else but they're really meant as a premium anti-large unit rather than a unit for holding back infantry for an entire match.
@@CompetitivelyAwesome Yeah it's actually pretty cool that the rangers are an early game alternative to spearmen. As you said, they've needed early game unit variety pretty badly. I almost always end up just spamming spearmen and archers so hopefully they'll change things up a bit.

Man the Silvering Guard is gonna be such a backbone unit in the Campaine, since they got the stat line as a Rank9 regular spearman with all the skills from the red tree. But the inate magic resistance is good and thr charge defense is even cooler. Well anyway the high elves seems to get alot of good stuff and i bet Chaos in game 3 is gonna get alot of cool stuff they can use. But back to the Silverin guard i bet at rank 9 is gonna be really crazy
So, Greenskins finally have a lord with a regen. And 30 seconds of 40% ward save. And AOE buffs with MA and ITP. Scary and pretty unsnipable. Edit: And oh god, Helm of Yvresse plus a Fire Phoenix on low HP. If this bird gets Rebirth proc, it won't shatter with full HP anymore, if it does not, you still have a small chance to heal it and get it out of combat. And... can Rebirth actually get triggered a second time? D: Edit2: Oh god, so many new things for HE, so many potentially broken combos...
Grom is far from unsnipeable. His health pool is honestly way too low for what he is and he's got pretty poor melee defence, besides being bound to his chariot so he doesn't get knocked over by big hits. I've just seen a match against High Elves and he got double teamed by Eltharion and an Arcane Phoenix and utterly deleted within seconds. They should move up all of his health just up a tier, so he gets 5k instead of just 3k on large unit size and he's gonna be fine but right now I don't see him being particularily competitive. Still might be good in certain matchups but absolutely not against HE.
I wouldn't discount the strider effect the flappa wagons have. They're immune to forest effects/water effects, which can have a surprisingly strong impact on some battles. These guys with access to trees might have a decent chance of juking most cav.
I was kind of sad that the winged pump wagons didn't come with a pseudo-fly ability. Imagine an activated ability that becomes available when moving fast where they start flying for a limited duration letting them jump over front lines.
@@jaiden1121 why just make a 1 min cooldown ability where they lift up like arkhan's chariot model and ignore collisions with small units for 5 seconds, done

Imrik's stats are nuts, normally it's relatively easy to hit monstrous characters like those riding dragons, but his Melee Defence is massive, not to mention how hard it'll be to hit him when he uses that Lord of Dragons ability. It really makes me think that he'll be used to bully out any other aerial lord/heroes.
I mean dragon mounts are strong, Star Dragons are the Strongest and then we get the dude that is all about dragons and his own named dragon. He is supposed to be crazy on it and reign the skies. His counter it pretty much the same counter any monsterous unit has - shoot him and hope for the best.
@@FieserMoep I know, but normally a Dragon's melee defence isn't even close to 60, let alone with those kinds of buffs. Not saying it's OP, just that it's way above and beyond.
i assume they change the stats of him to include all chrace units. it will not be a top tier army but might be worth it if it gets cheap enough :-). would be weird to me if they don t.
Yes I feel like it’s missed opportunity to make lions a mount. I mean look at the exotic mounts of wood elves for wild riders! Deers are amazing and they still didn’t give them to at least the mages... we basically get a generic horse or unicorn *sigh*
Eltharion the Grim is a great utility character who has a good amount of everything once fully unlocked. He has good combat ability, can use magic, is mobile and can help your units stay in the fight. He is a High Elf version of either the Red Duke or Manfred von Carstein on a Zombie Dragon.
As awesome as it is to see cool toys for Greenskins i want some love for the Dawi. Oh well maybe in TW3 we'll get Rune Golems, Runge Guardians, Thunderbarge, Shard Dragon, Doomseekers, Daemon Slayer and some other cool stuff.
like, literally, dwarfs cant do sht against this many counters, everybody gets magic resist/missle resist/ only control rune given to Troll hag as a side ability ffs
Niblet is the little goblin "mascot" of Grom the Paunch ^_^ He managed to survive being sat on by Grom (accidentally...) and from then on Niblet was Grom's standard bearer.
Hey Turin, Not sure if you mentioned it, but imo best selling point for War Lions of Chrace is their strider ability. You can run them trough forest and hills and they will still be fresh, and they will quickly catch up with anything that beckpedals into rough terrain. I think they will munch hard on anything out of position or routing.

Someone probably said it already but the hype goblin is niblet. A lucky Goblin Grom sat on but didn't kill. Since then Nibblet has become his lucky advisor/side kick
I got into High Elves because of the White Lion Unit. The fact they are getting even more stuff is just awesome and has me excited! I want to roll around campaign with all white lions units(Probably add in some archers at least...)
I think this just highlights how desperately the Dorfs need an update of their own - increased mass when bracing, buffs for their artillery, anti-infantry bonuses for Longbeards/Ironbreakers/Hammerers, Thunderbarges with automatic bombing, Slayer heroes with stalk, and Doomseekers.
War Lions also have strider and do not rampage(!), which means they automatically lose the fire and forget sticker that most units in this class have. Although, I was surprised that their base leadership wasn't any better... It seems to be on the same level as the Razorgors. Majestic lion vs spiky pig leadership contest lol.
Just a though for fun, Fireborns charging into a non braced unit of non pike infantry, after they have been rebuffed by ror archers, kindle flame of firemage and also with Imrik’s melee attack boost
Looking at the lion chariots really drove home just how amazing the DE lizard limo chariots are that have that great anti large ranged attack. I don't use chariots since they require too much micro to be useful but the dlc DE lizard limo is the only chariot that I use on the regular. It's impossible not to get some value out of.
Very happy as a High Elf main with the Rangers and Silverin Guard - charge defense against all is sorely needed for high elves or else they just lose their martial prowess immediately against high burst damage and the rangers provide juicy dps and speed so the high elves now actually have a valid cheap option for grinding through enemy front lines (especially with war lions stacked on top). Also I like that we're getting physical resistance on one and magic resistance on the other. Being able to bring a magic resist unit keeps your opponent honest with high magic damage factions.
Depressingly, you cannot really bring Grom against High Elves. That Arcane Phoenix will just straight-up murder him and there's quite literally nothing he can do against it. The Bird is faster, has more health, deals comparable damage (fire damage, mind you) and with Groms melee defence sitting at a humble 30 he can't really defend himself nor can he run.
So, the skaven outgun and outnumber the dwarfs and have excelent armorpiercing missile and arty plus monsters and good "chariots" and now de Greenskins have good chariots and overwhelming infantry and monsters. It's a sad day to be a dwarf player, your closest enemies have so many good options against you.
Tbf early game skaven have to scrape by with horrendously shitty chaff, and nothing but chaff. Also, the autoresolve hates them with a passion. It's not all bad for the manlet brigade
I am just sick of seeing the orcs getting stomped every fucking campaign. It was funny like once or twice like Vlad migrating to South East asia by foot but it has been happening for years. fucking dawi make treaties with rats for the grudges sake
One interesting point is that all of the snotling pump wagons are also expendable so they wont affect the leadership of your other units when the tiny gitz inevitably get squashed.
Sounds like the new fire synergies make regenerating units a moot point against elves now. It’ll be interesting to see how they balance it after they let dlc power creep for a while.
I really would like to know if Imriks and the Talons fire-resist-debuff stack. That would make a for a hilarious army, with Sisters of Avelorn just absolutely wrecking everything Imrik and his archer-buddies touch.

Shouldn't lions be anti-large? They hunt down large prey in the wild, which is why I think it would make a lot more sense for them to be an anti-cav unit.
I want Alastar the White Lion to get the option for a White Lion mount, in the same way I can mount a Skaven Lord on a Rat Ogre. In campaign, using him with his White Lion-specific buffs is the only way White Lions of Trash are worth it - he turns them into cheaper upkeep Swordsmen Of Hoeth.
They should make the hype goblin a legendary follower and add legendary followers and make them appear on the battlefield next to their lord. Like extra mini heroes or something.
I wish CA would spread around some lores of magic other than death. It feels like every faction has access to at least 33 units with death magic, but something like Shadow magic is hard to come by. I don't care about table top, troll hag should have been beasts, or life, or shadow, or even wilds.
I hope the Dawi get a buff soon, cause with all the buffs the greenskins got in mechanics and units, I don't see Dawi surviving in campaign for very long.
