Tenebris! You have to use the shock ammo on the Alg thinking like a big game hunter. For things like tanks and harvesters, it's a beast. I brought down a level 4 rival tank with less than 20 rounds because I stayed at range for maximum power and started tacking them to the trees around the rival, then put one or two on the rival itself. As far as I can tell, they're like the regular rounds, in that the further the distance, the more juice the electrical arcs have on the spikes you land. [Edit: I am also questioning whether I want to bother grinding for the rest, as I have been through 14 rivals and have killed the Reaper 3 times, never getting the magnus, or KVM, which honestly, after taking so freaking long and soliciting so many suggestions for new experimental weapons for so long from the community, the fact that Systemic Reaction rolled out with only 3 new experimentals of extremely questionable conception and usefulness, is...insulting. If you include the DLC weapons, the game is AWASH in standard weaponry of all sorts and kinds, to the point of absurdity. I refuse to pay for another stupid weapon pack of also questionable conception and use if these are the kind of lackluster results we can expect from such continued support.]

For the alg just don't waste any uranium on the shock ammo from my results it really is just 20 ish rounds flat out

I understand, but I've always wondered how they were even supposed to implement new unique experimental weapons that would make sense for this setting. There's really only so much variation possible.

Yes but, there is nothing worse than die 30 times to kill the Reaper, and then it gives you only a Exosuit jacket, that I have 50 at least somewhere...

A little underwhelmed. I really want more land mass opened up. The reworked control points were frustrating because I had put a lot of time and thought into my bases and they were all wrecked after the update.

@@JMonkey7575 this update changed the lay of the land, added building and fences and physically moved the controll point trucks. If you had a base there it's going to be missing a lot. Anywhere that interfered was deleted and the resources returned to your bench

The Exp Kvm 89 is strange. I can kinda see what the devs were going for, it reminds me a little of the Vladof and Hyperion guns from Borderlands 2 with the wind-up accuracy and the increased fire rate, but I would probably have balanced the wind-up and the "optimal zone" way differently. Smaller initial spread, slightly longer wind-up, but then also a good long time in the optimal zone where it's just pinpoint accurate. Maybe they balanced it around the base 50 round ammo pouch, and everyone's running around with 200 round extended pouches? Who knows, eh?

It is the worst weapon in the game. It is impossible to aim with it. Without a very round mag the mag runs dry. It just doesn't make sense as an experimntal. Awful awful awful

​@justinmartin738 I find it to be a great experimental, given I only have 2, both lmgs. Sure it has a wind up but if you have an ext mag, it's great at destroying machines at a distance and does pretty good damage in overheat range. Also pinpoint accuracy at long range.

Would it be bad to ask for experimental attachments ? Maybe balance it by making it where you can only have 1 equipped at a time (or don't) ex:adding the experimental barrel mod to the new kvm would maybe make it take 2x as long to overheat, just some stuff to maybe balance out/buff weapons that need it , or to change how they work entirely, I like weapon variety but they all just shoot bullets until the new rifle , I hope they start making experimental dlc weapons also

Real life machine gunner here. Remember in the dev letter, where they talked about a mix between realism and sci fi? The 89 is the perfect example of this: the build is sci fi, but the thought behind it is 100% real. You do NOT Run and Gun with this piece. You use one team member, who gets behind cover and carefully gets into the rythm of the gun. The rest of the team leads the target, and make sure that the tank, for example, don't bash the machine gunner. I do think that that was the idea behind it. If you are a One Man Army-hero, this gun is not for you.

Was super hyped before for the exp weapons but now, kinda bit disappointed by them i find the kvm 89 a bit of a hassle to use sure it does more dmg on the top end but your only gonna fire in burst and most of the time the machines dont make it easy for you (as they should) and than the magnus i feel like its a bit underwhelming tho a bit more fun when taking on fenix bases other than that bleg, and than the Aulg, great concept and pretty good for attacking fenix bases but other than that also a bleg, overall for these exp weapons i give it a Missed opportunity/Could have been better.

Honestly I think the problem of all 3 of them is just damage They all have a high-effort playstyle If we were at least somewhat reworded for that high effort, they'd be quite good As it is, they are just meh, and for no real reason? I honestly see no reason what so ever not to make them more powerful

Anyone having issues with corrosive rounds etc not working with experimental 49 (rocketlauncher) it won’t let me equip the ammo with it anymore i tried regular rocketlauncher and same thing

One thing I would like to say exp magnus it is actually really good for taking on base assault missions i had a lot of fun and their is an odd trick you can use to make it really effective.

@@atacstringer8573 if you have a height advantage on let's a runner shoot its foot so that all the extra shotgun pellets all those pellets will explode and probably kill your target. With enemy base walls you should really pay attention where the extra pellets are going cause you can destroy base wall easy just keep in mind your not hitting the first wall to take it out but using that wall to break all the others. I took 300 44 magnus explosive ammo it pretty much did most of the work also keep if mind if your are shooting into rooms of enemy bases you possibly have a chance to kill the things that spawn Enemies.

@@lifeforceken I had to completely restart new because my save file would crash the game before I could accept the new terms haven't played in a while so I haven't had a chance to get this new weapon yet but from what you're saying it sounds like it's the experimental shotgun in pistol form as far as the spread goes I was under the assumption that if it hit the ground or something it just wouldn't split but if it does that's very very powerful thanks for the tips can't wait to get my hands on one of these

@@atacstringer8573 i don't know the exact details but what I do know is the round that comes out of the gun at first is like your normal magnus bullet shot but when it hit something extra pellets comes out of the target you shot and 8f you have explosive ammo its these extra pellets that explode. So when you shoot the foot the normal bullet passes through the leg and the the explosive pellets plant themselves into the ground and nearly explode instantly killing your target. I have noticed it kills runner instantly hunters unsure cause they may have been damaged by other stuff.

That mortar rifle sucks hard... its sights are completely pointless since the arcing is so much that u cant see the target at 100m to hit it and it does verry little damage

@@josiahfuller2094 Yeah they should've added burst fire with this one imo.Another thing they could do is make the gun overheat near the end of a magazine,or at least let us shoot more than 29 bullets 🙄.And the crafting overhaul is another thing nobody asked for is imo a step back for the game.I like the tree system but not the expensive cost of making ammo and medkits,i'm back to farming those instead of crafting

@@reaper6ix664 The KVM is only good when in the red zone. Otherwise it's a very inaccurate weapon only allowing 8 to 10 shots to burst fire. Which has a seriously slow delay in each burst which is not an advantage because an enemybis moving you prefer not to waste the ammo on the clip to maintain that accuracy and improved damage. It overheats way too fast to truly take advantage of the benefits it earns over time.

The new exp's feel under baked. The rifle and revolver are pretty much useless. Ads with with the rifle is difficult to gage. Yet with the bow I'm easily capable of target acquisition. The revolver does well if you group them behind a target and shoot them. But the ai isn't conducive to such play. Over all underwhelmed. I'll be sticking to my standard loadout still. No need to even include these.

The exp Kvm is really really bad. You take an lmg and make it where I can't use it as an lmg. It's basically just a weird wind up burst fire gun. Literally what is the point. The aulg and the Magnus are alright but underwhelming, I've very disappointed with the lmg tho. Not what I was expecting.

Älgstudsare - good for distant base assaults to soften the target, other than that, I haven't found it to be useful. Kvm 89 - didn't find this to be useful or effective, and it is an instant recycle item when I get it. .44 Magnus - haven't really done much with it, tried it for the destroy a Wolf with a handgun challenge, it didn't seem to be doing anything, went with 5 crown .44 instead.

I was really looking forward to new experimental weapons after using the same basic ag4/kvm59/pvg90 loadout for a really long time (years). DISAPPOINTMENT. The usability in daily combat is really low on all the new weapons. The magnus is ok in some scenarios, but the other two guns are just unusable compared to the older experimentals. The kvm89 especially could have been a new favorite with minor tweaks, I like the concept alot. They had YEARS to think of new experimentals, how could they be this bad? Poor synergies, poor usability. YEARS.
