ALL NEW Priest Class Spells and Abilities in Classic WoW Season of Discovery 

Kinda sad there's nothing for a Holy-Dps-Priest. Really hoped we would get something like: Purge the Wicked: Replaces SW: Pain. Deals Holydmg instead of shadow and if the afflicted target gets hit by Holy Fire it explodes causing Purge the Wicked and the Holy Fire dot to refresh and spread to nearby enemys. Penance: Well Penance, but Renew and Holy fire ticks have a 10% and smite a 35% chance to grant your next Penance an additional bolt stacking up to 7 times. Persistent Inquisitor: Every time Smite does not crit its critical hitchance increases by 8%, stacking up to five times. When your Smite crits you lose the stacks, but Smite gets instantly recasted without generating threat. Additionally critical hits with Smite and Holynova allow your out of combat manareg to activate for 5s.

I was hoping to hear about the new circle of healing, it was one of my favorite spells at one point in time, when it didn't have a cooldown, same with Prayer of mending. Does both CoH and PoM have no cd? How mana efficient is it to?

Need more utility/mechanic changing abilities. Mostly all Ive seen are "give x class more dmg and/or more healing in x flashy way" We need variety. I think they may have already taken classic plus in the wrong direction, but we'll all give it a shot nonetheless.

Shared pain and mind sear together means priest will have some incredible aoe dmg. Wow

im assuming further down the line priests will be getting shadowfiend because even tho the aoe combo of mindsear and shared pain and single target with swd and homunculi their big classic problem hasnt been fixed, MANA

I picked up two rune spells, but don’t understand the blessing part? Say I need to have two blessing to learn it.

Honestly I think of any spec in the game, shadow priest gets the least impactful and least interesting additions in the 1-25 bracket. The AOE improvements are nice and SW:D is a great addition, but there isn't anything really juicy like, for example, Twisted Faith making your Mind Blast damage affect all targets afflicted by SW:P so that there was actual synergy between that and Shared Pain. Compared to the really powerhouse abilities that every other class/spec seems to have been given, these abilities don't fundamentally change the spriest gameplay style or rotation really. Would have been more exciting to see some abilities that reflect the more foundational reworks of spriest that happens in later xpacs. But maybe those will show up post lvl 25 considering we won't even be using shadowform in phase 1.

prayer of mending is much better here because it bounces when you heal the target, as well as when they get hit. different from what it normally is.

does mind sear hit the primary target also? been seeing conficting info on this.

As a guy that mains a priest in hardcore i was hoping for some sort of movement ability

If they added a chest rune that was Surge of light that also gave 5-10% overall spirit I'd be very happy and main a holy priest, I might still make a priest first but the rogue is looking pretty dope

All these new abilities are pretty dope but my question is. Is mana regen, cost os spells still unchanged? Cause casters go oom quite fast as it is and with all these new abilities they should go oom even faster.

Hope we get a “Mind Flay and Mind Sear refresh Shadow Word Pain” OR Mind Blast Criticals Refresh all Priest DoTs. Also, base mana regen on SWP ticks so we can apply SWP and refresh it for mana sustain gameplay. I also hope we get Devouring Plague across all Specs as well instead of Void Plague. NEW THING: Shadow Priest focused on healing with Vampiric Embrace (this heals from 30% of shadow dmg so it’s possible to make PWS apply a “beacon” effect or use Weakened Soul like the Mage Regeneration ability to cause shadow dmg to heal targets with Weakened Soul an extra Amount For Holy DPS: Smite and Penance has 20% increased damage on Holy Fire and Smite and Penance Criticals reset the cooldown of Holy Fire Holy Fire refreshes SWP (combine that with the base mana regen on SWP dmg from above) Surge of Light: Any Spell Crits have 50% chance to make smite instant and free (can crit too) For Priest healer: A PWS Mana Regen rune like the WOTLK disc Talent would be great 25% increased Crit on your next Heal after casting PWS or Barrier Include Smite into the Serendipity builder Direct Holy Healing Crits apply Renew OR Direct Holy heal Crits apply Shield for 30% of heal OR Direct Holy Healing Refresh Renew Wand hits generates 2% max Mana OR Smite costs no mana and regens 2% mana but cannot crit. Reduction of inner focus cooldown

Super psyched at priest getting all this stuff from TBC/Wrath but the thing that terrifies me is the thought of Blizzard nerfing the damage of their dots in exchange for granting Priests the ability to replenish party mana. Please don't make priests the Warlock's less powerful little brother/sister.

I feel like this is time for them to play with the specs, maybe a healer shadow priest or dps holy priest...

most runes are good for lvl 25 but completly useless if you try to minmax at higher level later on like strength of souls

I’m like low key insulted as a priest main that we didn’t get Holy DPS support. Like, mages can heal, but we only get 1 DPS option?

I might go with Dwarf priest. I feel like they might be one of the most in demand combo's still.

The problem for shadowpriest in vanilla is mana, not dmg. :/

You should really watch Esfand's video "Main concerns" on this. We asked for Classic+ but we got Season of Disaster insted. Season of Discovery is *NOT* Classic+ It's basically an experimental precursor for a classic+. Blizz dunno what classic+ should be so they're gonna experiment and let feedback guide the way for future real classic+ content. SoD is a Classic+ beta at best. Classic+ was to extend the world of Vanilla, not to just reuse it. WoW Classic's Season of Discovery will break rules that have existed for 19 years. They managed to make the Classic Plus we wanted into some downgraded Ascension WoW. Amazing. ALL they needed to do was to tweak some classes, not break em into other class roles. Not even Retail got it this bad. Mage healers...rogue/lock tanks, ye we really "asked" for that. Pala and Shaman tanking is a long time coming tho sure, nice with scarlet raid, kara crypt etc, but the rest...bah! This SoD is just a way for Blizz to try get bored Retail players back into the game as more and more are leaving it for (drums...) Classic. Some good things here but some rule breaking too.
