Many sounds in this game are unrealistically loud. Most of the listed sounds below can be heard up to 25m. (I tested them with a mate) - Lips sounds when dying of thirst - Stomach noises when starving - Drinking noises from some sort of container - Eating sounds - reloading magazines (loading a magazine could be loud IRL but not hearable up to 25m +- 10m on top (depends) and I mean, cmon... (and that extra slap at the end is so damn unnecessary) - reloading guns (basically same thing here) Realistic or not. This is still a game, a product made for entertainment after all...
Or just doing vehicle maintenance. Washed the grease and oil off my hands with a bit of gas or kerosene dozens of times as a kid with my dad before heading inside (then washing with soap like normal though).
Wobo you have no idea what kind of itch you scratch when it comes to this game. Lucky are us DayZ players that we have someone to break things down for us like you do! I must ask though since you've been around for so many years what weapons/features or any additions would you personally want to see added to the game?
You're very welcome. More so given you're a channel member. The feature I want more than any others are other forms of transport. Bikes, skate boards, long boards, scooters and maybe even zip wires in many locations. Not travelling super fast, just slightly faster than sprint speed
The helmets themselves are not the same. The "old" helmets are the more modern MICH 2000/ACH, while the ones with the camo covers are the ACH's predecessor, the PASGT, which was in use with the US military for quite a long time and remained in service with the USMC long after the US Army has switched to the more modern ACH. 2 of the camo patterns in the game are actually the USMC camo patterns currently in use, while the M81 woodland is the "OG" camo scheme when the PASGT was introduced late in the Cold War.
Also for the helmets: The "Ballistic Helmet" appears to be a US Army Advanved Combat Helmet (ACH) developed around the early 2000s. The new helmet appears judging by that lip on the front to be a PASGT helmet which is an older helmet used around the 1980s which has less ballistic protection. The same helmet is in Arma Reforger but I'm not sure if the DayZ devs are as adamant about accurate ballistic values
Makes sense that the PASGT helmets have the MARPAT and older US Army M81 since I think the USMC kept using the PASGT for longer after the Army switched to the ACH, nice to have camo that matches the BDU and the Marpat uniforms and nice to have more disruptive camo for your head than the current solid colour helmets. I would often go helmetless with a boonie for better camo rather than the protective but more noticeable helmets.
Yeah the DayZ devs never seem to consult with the Arma devs, Bohemia has weapons and gear experts and instead of staying realistic, even as we once were, it seems they move further and further away, like this new recoil is utterly disgusting.... it's never been this bad, and now they made it even worse, if they're going to have ridiculous, completely unrealistic recoil and weapon sway, they really need to return the damn bipods, I can barely hit a moving shot from 100m if I have a 3/4 full inventory because for some reason, I can't breathe 🙄
@@johnnygeorgopoulos4072 Yeah they seem to be overly concerned with "balance", when personally I don't consider balance to be a benefit in this genre of game. Yes assault rifles are OP, but that's legit the whole point of them IRL and why they're used by basically every military now, they're supposed to be capable and well balanced weapons and shouldn't be nerfed.

It seemed from the patch notes that suppressors were buffed as much as they are until they figure out how to make the infected AI react the way they want to them. That's what I inferred anyway. Pretty pumped for the 30 round SVAL mags though. That's something that's been long overdue.
I think only the MK2 should have a totally silent suppressor. Regular suppressors should make half the noise as they did in last version. Bullet impacts should still attract zombies though.
I think the bullet impact attracting zombies was kinda weird. Bullet impacts aren't that loud on most surfaces. And also from a game design point of view, it was weird that you could lure infected out so easily out of gas zones to get filters.
I dont agree. MKII should not be more affective than a real suppressor. For me the mk2 is a early game suppressed weapon but a pistol with a suppressor should be an upgrade
I wish they would let you put a fishing rod on your shoulder it makes far more sense then a gun as none of the guns in game have any sort of strap on them.
I wish they would add more options to console building, like a wooded floor, a wall with a lockable man size door with keyed lock, code locks and usable lockers or other storage options

Suppressors not causing zombies to agro seems less realistic to me. But that aside let's just take a moment to thank WOBO for being the best for always informing us about the updates. ❤ I wouldn't be half the player I am if it wasn't for him.

Don’t seem to see many people mention it but, the tree hitboxes. I don’t know how to feel about that if it does indeed reduce damage. It changes how PVP will be played
I think it would be cool if the devs added a feature to allow using planks to board up windows on houses. That’s something I think we would all do in an actual apocalypse 🤨
@@fluzzles honestly, that's probably a relatively simple addition. You make a blueprint in the engine and then you attach that blueprint to all windows on all building mesh assets in the game. You can then make alternate versions as needed. Kinda simple really, from a development point of view
I don't think the camo helmet is a reskin of the ballistic helmet, the camo helmet seems to be based on the PASGT helmet where as the ballistic helmet imo looks more like a low-cut MICH-2000 helmet.
DayZ 2...., You can add another 10 year to DayZ 1 until part 2 comes out. Yeah because if you look at GTA5. That game been out for 10 Year's already and part 6 can be push back too.
Yeah, it didn't need changing. It was fine. And distinct from the other weapons, while the other weapons shared the same sound files (well, ALL rifles shared the same sound files after a certain distance).

All AK rifles have literally the same sound😂 and on a long distance all guns almost sound identical. Yeah, the content of the alpha version of DayZ was way more alive.. and now? Idk how i feel about the bullet impacts not attracting zombies. I had a moment on Namalsk one time where a guy was way down at AC-130 and i was way up on the mountain with a sniper. I took a shot but missed and the bullet impacted right at his feet… I sat and watched as the poor guy got mauled by zombies then went and gathered the loot. It was such a cool moment, probably one of my favorites.
As an avid hunter, I can say the ability of branches to deflect bullets is very real. With pointy high velocity bullets, like mostly rifles fire, hitting the tiniest twig or blade of grass can destablize your bullet and cause it to fly feet off target. This is where rifles called "brush guns," or even hunting handguns come in. Generally, the slower and less pointy the bullet, the less brush deflection you will sustain. Rounds like .30-30 Winchester, .44 Magnum, and rifled shotgun slugs are popular brush gun choices.
Being a hubter doesnt make you a ballistics expert... A blade of grass is not throwing a bullet off its trajectory by FEET. Not when within 100m of the start atleast. Maybe after the velocity drops off alot. But now we are just talking about useless information for a video game.

Don't take my word for it, it's a well documented fact. .223/5.56 especially has a ton of brush deflection that was studied and well documemtedby the US military during the vietnam war. The determind that even leaves and grass can deflect the bullet by as much as 15 degrees. Why you gotta be a little naysaying ankle biter? You obviously did zero research.
@@TokeThenJoke Also, it's not about the "tragectory," fool. It's that the gyroscopic stabilization from the rifling becomes disrupted causing the bullet to be defelcted by the air, like a stone skipping off the water.
bruv, Vikhr, it's not a miniature version of VSS or ASVAL, the receiver is even bigger than those 2. It usually has a removable suppressor which is as big as ASVAL's built in one.. they might add it down the line.
I watched TRMZ's stream tonight and at Bolota airfield using a suppressed Makarov he headshotted a zombie from about 20m with one shot and two nearby zombies about 30m away from him, maybe 10-15m from the zombie he shot instantly agroed and locked onto him as the shot killed a zombie. So I'm thinking this mechanic is still somewhat buggy
One thing I've been saying 5hey need to add is a new sort of code lock. Possibly a resemblance to the mod in pc or similar to rust codelocks. This would make the game 10x better on vanilla dayz and console, since console dosnt get mods. What do you guys think?
Hope they add more base build options soon honestly, but hearing the AI change does make me happy as it's needed tbh. Maybe someday they add roaming hordes and infected breaking down doors... That'd be cool 😁
Back then when Brian Hicks was still "in charge" about the game's developement, there was (or still is idk) a website where you could see things or ideas that were planned to get added to the game eventually. Birds, Helis, a yellow plane and more. One of the things I remember was some sort of GIF where a zombie had a kicking animation. But it looked more Human-like than "Zombie-ish". That was around 2016 I believe

The reload sound is the same one used by the SA80/L85A2 in the EU Gear mod, could be an existing sound file within DayZ files, I never used the FAMAS so I can't confirm if it's a new sound or a previous unused sfx.
It's for game balance, if they had the supressor it make the AS VAL and the VSS useless. + it's a cool compact cqb weapon that you can put inside your backpack and you can finally use all thoses boxes of 9x39 before the end game.

Is it possible that you can't sprint-prone through concrete walls with a hole anymore? I noticed that I hit the wall and need to crawl through the hole in 1.24
I don't really get why they changed the suppressor/zombie mechanic. It seemed realistic before and actually made you think about fighting in a town. Now that is much less and zombies have become even more useless... while we're in a zombie apocalypse...
Because it aggros the infected and they run to the point of impact. Then they immediately turn and run towards the shooter, no matter where they hide. That's not very realistic either. The devs made it a little more tolerable by implementing this fix, which might be temporary. Modifying the infected takes a lot more work than modifying bullet impact sounds.
Can't believe they still haven't given New Gen. Consoles the Option to customize our own Keybinds. This has been a Thing for quite sometime now and 100% needs to change 🙄

wow, everytime when I would like to back to dayz there are some changes addons, gj BOHEMIA. i Have seen goals of deveopers so(they were in very bad quality shown on presentation movie)They are going to add new maps following and there were about 60(maybe am wrong) maps to explore! CHernarus plus was just tiny peninsula on the south west of that huge map. I didnt notice livonia but it should be in there on middle.
Kinda confused a bit about the hit boxes on the trees, I pretty much play Namalsk mostly, an you mentioned giving it more server load, so shooting trees in namalsk will make more lag now?
I like the new additions but I’m fed up with the devs giving guns a bottle suppressors instead of the proper suppressors like in real life it’s daft just like the new DMR it should have a western suppressor just another reason to play on PC
i think it's for gameplay, the DMR is already one of if not the best snipers if there was a suppressor for the DMR it'd put it even higher than the svd
@@exquisitedark but the SVD has a suppressor, and the DMR Is range limited I understand balancing but taking things further than the reality it is in real life is daft I’ll use the new gun for a bit then the 30rnd mags are just gonna go on my sval. Look up the gun it supports a suppressor, it’s a shame though that they add a gun close to the vss / sval when there’s plenty of period guns they could add to the game such as an rpk we already have supporting magazines and ammunition for the rifle I wouldn’t expect a suppressor there because it’s classed as an lmg even though it could take one but I digress I’m loving the additions they are making the last two years have been phenomenal and more is to come, no one is ever gonna be 100% happy regardless hence why I say pc is more appealing that lar with 50rnd mag and a suppressor 👌🏽

Love new guns. I like the gun raising mechanic change and hope it makes it less buggy. I like the changes to muzzle flashes simply because I predict that it’s for old gen consoles that get really laggy and low frame rates during 900 rpm full auto fire. Especially with 2 guns in their line of sight.
I'd love for them to add books. That was one of my favorite things about the old arma mod. Getting dark let's stop in a house light a fight n read till day.

It's actually the SR-3M and like usual, they forgot to add it's specific suppressor 🙄 The detachable suppressor looks almost identical to the AS VAL and VSS suppressor, but of course, is detachable instead of integral like on the others. This is two in a row now that specific attachments made for the rifles were left off due to laziness.... the M14 DMR's specific optic and bipod, and now the SR-3M's suppressor. 🙄
The pioneer has a built in bipod a d extra mag well in the buttstock as well. Cr 550 should be chambered in 30-06. Reason 60000000 europoors shouldn't make games with guns in them. Their ignorance to the subject shows.

I doubt they have intentions on adding it's suppressor unfortunately, it really seems like weapon accessories are non-existent to them, but we all love DayZ due to them trying to keep it as realistic as possible, but it's in these cases where they fail miserably.... and with this new utterly disgusting and completely unrealistic recoil they just added, anyone who's ever fired an automatic or select fire rifle knows damn well that they don't recoil like this, you can shoulder an M4 and be able to easily hit a human sized target within 50m in full auto without doing anything but holding it against your shoulder, same with sway....if they want to do this crazy stuff, they really need to return the bipods before I snap 😵💫🙄😅
@@DaleMontdale-xd1mc it has zero to do with "Europeans", they work for Bohemia, Bohemia has weapon experts, they have the best sandbox military simulation franchise in history, it's seems like the DayZ devs themselves don't ever consult with the Arma devs before doing something, and they certainly should, DayZ literally wouldn't be here but not for Arma, but they consistently move further away from it's Arma roots into the unknown.
Would love to see the two consoles be able to play together, combining player bases and actually making things like radios useful since ps/Xbox can't get into parties
Actually.... the Ballistic Helmet is a MICH 2000 helmet while the new Camouflagued Helmet is a PASGT helmet with a fabric cover, an older model used in the 80s and 90s by the US armed forces.
They need to dedicate an update solely to revamping the infected, allowing them to breakdown doors, climb ladders, breakthrough large windows, and most importantly fix their AI and path finding. Overall nice QoL update for the start of the year, keep up the good work devs!
@@lumertzjoao exactly, dealing with infected now is more often a chore than it is a real threat, which considering this is a zombie game definitely needs to be addressed.
Agree with everything except the ladder part. That's just dumb. Also, while zombies/infected need to get better to be considered as a real threat, they still shouldn't be annoying to deal with. There was once a change in the zombie AI actually not that long ago (Idk which version) but everyone hated that change so much, they had to revert it back.
Happy to see this new weapon listed as "Very Rare." And not "Extremely Rare." Hopefully this means it can be looted at crash sites or possible T3-T4 Military, since VSS and SVAL is so rare, I have never looted one in Vanilla.
From my experience on exp, the suppressors where not as effective as shown in this video. But I didn't try shooting at their feets etc. I just noticed some aggro when killing them silenced
If you have any inside ears at Bohemia. Please tell them to remove the hit boxes from garden plots and fireplaces so players can’t climb them into bases.
Question I know dayz has come such a long way but how would everyone feel about a like “weapon” update mainly focusing on adding weapons like one month is weapons and bugs obviously they have to fix and next month new clothing back packs and stuff like that and etc ?
@@heychimney007 there is no point, zero.. except to make you glint in the sunlight and be much more visible to other players ;) You can always kill someone with a single shot, despite armour, if their health is low enough beforehand

@@reed1418 what I said pretty much, the tracer mod is from DaOne, one of the devs of VPP. It required to run dayz diag for it to work. And then depending on the need COT or VPP
Seems the suppressed and infected might only be for civilian zombies? Was watching trmz earlier on the experimental and mili zombies were attracted to suppressed shots all the same.
I'd love if they added an easier way to base in buildings, of course it's currently possible but stuffing an entire gate in my house doorway seems a little excessive lol Also boarding windows and completely barricading unused doors/doorways would be cool to, just worried about how people might try to abuse this or grief with it.
Hmm... Mini dayz 2 have vikhr, mini14, rpk, and a m249... I always expected them to add something thatll also be in miniday2... Not to mention the minidayz2 has already have a longhorn before dayz does... Now, im expecting they'll also add a compound bow and groza
6:07 racking the bolt sounds like a mistake. That sounds like a pistol slide. It sounds like racking a Beretta M9 or 92SF pistol slide. I know they are going for balance, but I really wish DayZ and other games would be a bit more realistic with recoil. Base more on the weapon platform and caliber. An M4 does not have much recoil. They are pretty flat shooting unless you are holding it like a wet noodle.
Wait if all suppressed weaponry is undetectable by infected, then a svd can be used without infected comeing for that booty. Seems a bit unrealistic as its supposed to dampen the sound and not eliminate it entirely! Might i suggest that all sounds are not heard very well by infected but sight is the same or improved to help with this discrepancy in logic.
Would like to see new skins and possibly nrw movements for the infected, which sounds like they are doing.. similar to the Arma mod 😆 Damn glad the suppressors aren't a dinner bell anymore for the A. I... that was too much. 👍
I don't see why they would remove washing your hands with gas. Gasoline is very good at removing stuck on scum from your hands, is used quite often by mechanics.
