Dave is the GOAT!! Really nice to see you back on youtube, insta doesnt do you justice. The FPV community needs more of your valuable input and contributions so please dont stop sharing.
Just finished building a Rekon 7 Pro… you are such an amazing engineer/designer/creator. Glad you keep pushing the boundaries and keep thinking outside of the box!!!
This is super cool. I want one because it is just so different from what everyone else is doing. You should definitely capitalize on this and make a 2207 "Tank" version for freestyle. Either way, this is badass and props (hahahaha) to you for making such a unique frame.
For me wanting a longrange, lightweight forward flying cruiser, I would ditch the top motors in front and increase prop sizes for the bottom ones. Now I wonder what would happen if I halve the size of the rear motor/blade combo, maybe lengthen the tail arm to compensate?😂
I like what you have done. HD is an awesome platform, I have several of them. Do you plan to do a video on the analog platform? There are still customers using analog and would like to see the performance of analog as well as 03, caddx, and walksnail.
can u just put on a good camera like a night vision DJI cam style & leave out the Go-Pro? It looks like it should get good reception with the antenna like they are.. it looks really good quality
It can be either RHCP, or LHCP, whichever you want but you must have same RCHP or LHCP on your goggle antennas. Got to be same on goggle antennas as 03 system antenna, but no matters which you want RHCP or LHCP.
@@indroneswetrust1 I am aware of the difference between RHCP and LHCP but are you part of the development team so you know what they will ship with it? I am looking for brand of antenna as well. R and L do not match what is on any modern Latest DJI Goggles and starting with G2 the internal ones cannot be replaced and G3 or Integra none of them can be replaced.
@@gregdavidd ohhh I'm sorry, but I'm not with any of development team or anything, I'm just regular FPV pilot flying my customized build drones with HD system as of DJI Air Unit 03 system and Vista with polar camera. I been flying ever since January of 2015, but I was on analog system for first 4-5 years then the very first original DJI Air Unit HD system came out as 4s max only at that time and I got one and never looked back to analog system ever since I started on HD system about 4 years now, so I'm just regular FPV pilot, sorry to confuse to you or something.
I’ve always wondered if the motors stacked on top of each other causes inefficiency? because if you think about it, both top and bottom motors are pushing the same air molecules, but if they were spread apart they would be pushing twice the air instead of pushing the same air twice. Either way that still a bad ass drone.
Wow Dave thats a really good drone, I really like it and actually I would want to buy it but it's not sub250. Is there any mods I can apply to it so it will be sub 250?
glad to see my motor mounting idea was used, back when kababfpv did a y6, and someone else made micro y6 of various sizes, i wasnt happy with the way motors got mounted.
Looks very nice, but isn't the tail overpowered due to center of mass being way in the front? That would reduce efficiency. Also not quite 50% more prop area due to inefficiences of stacked props. Back in time they used higher pitch - lower diameter props on the bottom to compensate for this. One real benefit of this setup is the added redundancy if one of the motors or ESCs fail.
Why not use prop nuts instead of the T-mount? I really hated the t-mount on my rekonfpv4 FR and switched to 1804's with propnuts. Losing those tiny screws in the field, only to find them down in my flight bag when i get home really ruins an already ruined trip to go fly. One clipped prop causes waaaaay more hassle then needed... Prop nuts please. Would instabuy if it had those, and maybe a version without the vtx, so i can instal my Walksnail V2 or whatever. Maybe even with a pre installed vtx cable so we can pnp our digital vtx after some re-pinning (so HDzero pilots can enjoy this to).
yeah i agree, i plan on replacing that right when i get it. Not sure why they would go that route over simple cloth tape. And the tape just looks so much better on top of actually holding the wires down under Gs. Its literally the only complaint i have so far untill i get it in the air.
It’s different I like it. I’m very interested in this quad for a job opportunity with the media company and all they need from me is GoPro footage. He not liking the 03 footage from my rig and I need a little more speed. Nice work sir.
you can always try shooting in dcinelike and then give them hevc main10 for better color correction. O3 really needs to make sure you dont overexpose and set an appropriate iso limit to prevent exposure blowout when coming out from a shaded part of the scene. Its a finicky camera!
@@BrandonBeans I told the owner of the company that I would play with it some more to see if I could make it better but at this time he asked to set up my gopro and had me run some lines. He said he had 15 pilots in three states all DJI mavic pilots and no freestyle pilots. This was my interview and the company I work for was having a marketing video made and the owner of my company told him that I was a freestyle pilot. This was so F up but really cool at the sametime. Thanks for the tips Brandon
Is there such a thing as a separate 'mothership' drone with a sole purpose of hovering up high / hold it's altitude statically with a signal repeater setup of sorts? I would think the signal penetration and distance would be much greater than just ground to drone alone. Sounds like a product begging to be created with many uses even outside just hobby level.
@@DaveCFPV Oh, sadly, thought it's somewhere near the xt60 connector,, behind the body. At the specs on the site therefore some sort of misleading, coz there are buzzer listed. Also complaining between this one and rekon 5. I'm relatively new in FPV, and for this moment i figured out, that minilongrange is my main interest. Wanna carry fullsize gopro on the aircraft. This one is more capable, but wanna see more reviewa and footage of flight performance, light freestyle. Can't find rekon 6 on sale,, i think if it was, i took rekon 6 to carry gopro.
Why dont you make use of the antenna as landing legs/stands instead of just pointing out all over the place, you can make em multi-purpose that way and give em a strong springy plastic or something. Send me a drone to test if you make use of this :P im broke and it looks cool
You told you will talk about the pros and cons but the cons never came :( Here I got some what I was seeing and hearing in the video. After take off a seconds later you tell you have an ND filter and stabilization ON and right in the next sentece you say it's not stabilized (afterwards, No! Becuse you can't stabilized a footage twice).. I don't need 2 extra motors and pros to take a fullsize action cam thats a lot of addicional weight..just increesing the prop size makes the deal. It has a lot of vibrations (visible in the footage in the freestyle section) and the yawl feels strange by every "Y" configuration. It's small BUT is not for freestyle, is cinematic BUT is not long range, it's stable BUT you can't dive. It's good BUT is unnecesary. Your best product was the recon 6, thats an amazing rig this should be minimum as good as that is if you coming out with a new quad in 2024. The quality is realy nice, the prints are well made and it's visible that you were thiking on this for a while but did it made the point? A few years earlier it would be an amazing idea. It's like iFlight's Afterburner 5 it's unnecesary, thay also made a quad which is cinematic and great and nobody saw something like this before and it has the props in view and is perfect for everything but . In my opinion it's something what keeps the numbers up, you have to come out whit something otherwise people will buy other companies Y6-es and Afterburers. Peace! ✌
I’m definitely intrigued with this configuration and would love to fly one. I just find it hilarious that they are calling it a Y6, when they chose to use the dead cat positioning for the front arms, which clearly/visually changed the shape from a “Y” to a “T”.
@@FpvBerget - funny how there is so many posts from India claiming they don't have money for drones, and in many cases even asking for free ones. I mean c'mon, it's not like they are $50 so they will simply hand those out like hotcakes.
