at 16:43 - 17:20'ish....holy hell that is so much light above the "cutoff". This showcases perfectly why a proper projector retrofit is the way to go instead of just led bulbs. Great video!!
No need to go through all that hassle to remove the glare shield, you can just push and bend it in and out of the way using a flat head and don't worry it won't break, it's metal for GD and GK and then put your projectors on. Took 30 minutes to swap them, as I took the tires off.
@@ShoebHussaini the shield is too big to fit through the hole on the GD, even if bent it still wouldn't fit (I tried that at first thinking I'd let lucky)
@@Sebs.garage_The key is to never remove the shield or pull it out; instead, just bend it inside the headlight, and it'll stay in place. If you ever want to switch back to halogen bulbs, you can simply use long nose pliers to pull it back to its original position.
@@Sebs.garage_ I get it, I don't mind it. It's just for someone who doesn't want to go through all the hassle of removing the bumper then headlight and then cutting and prying the thing out. Feels like almost a day of work.
I would have liked to have seen more of a comparison of the brights... Every LED light I've used the brights barely make a difference & from what I saw here it's the same deal. Granted, the low beams are pretty freaking amazing. I've found on cars that have double headlight bulbs like EF civic/CRX LED in the headlight & standard halogen in the high beams gives the best of both worlds. Allot of LED lights are very hard to see when it's wet conditions. On my GD I've got LED headlamps & halogens in the fogs & it's much better than when I had LED & LED. Another good upload Seb, keep them coming. We all appreciate the content. MrE Garage signing off.
The LED and heatsink can also just be removed from the projector lens during assembly. Its got spring loaded balls on each side so you can install the lens lock it down then install the led into the lens.
Alright I'm sold, lol I do wonder if there's another alternate method to getting those glareshields out non-destructively besides taking out the lens, but I'm still stoked to save up for a pair of these! Only question I do have, do the DRL lights still work with these or no?
I don't think there would be because they are larger than the hole, but I'm all ears (and eyes) if someone comes up with a way to do it. The instructions for removal are a bit different on the Roadmanners website, so take your pick on which method you'd like to use. As far as DRLs, it should be no different than any other HID or LED bulb.
Only issue i have with these types of aftermarket headlight setups is they don't last long ended up using quality halogen bulbs & they are pretty bright & was only 40 bucks
It really depends on the bulbs. I've used Sylvania LED bulbs in my fog lights and they've been on there for 5 or so years without issue. I've had Sylvania ZXE bulbs last under two years. Either way, any halogen bulbs I've used do not hold a candle in comparison to a projector LED (retrofit, or these bulbs in particular) in terms of light output and visibility.
