The difference between Ingrid's superb delivery and somebody like Claude (who just sounds like he is saying a normal line) is so striking. Brittany Cox outdid herself.
Yeah, what on earth was Claude doing there? It can't be a direction issue, plenty of the other VAs knocked theirs out of the park

Ingrid sounds so convincing. In the moment of your death, I imagine it would be hard to breath which makes it hard to speak clearly. Ingrid sounds like she’s gasping, desperately clinging to the little life she has left. Very well done by the VA.
It's part of the 3H charm, if you recall how Dorothea mourns Ferdie if you didn't manage to recruit him but you have her, it was truly heart breaking... --Spoilers-- Dorothea is standing by the water, looking at the horizon, she speaks in a broken voice: We killed Ferdie he was our friend! Don't you remember those days? Me: Starts sobbing. 3 Houses/Hopes is such a great set of games with talented voice actors.
I mean idk he lived for like 2 mins after A) getting stabbed by a toxic dagger in the back B) getting slashed in the side by a mythical sword gifted by the fodland equivalent of satan
Ingrid death is the best quotes here compared with others, no wonder her dedication as the knight is the best and also one of best waifu in three houses
It's sad to know what everbody thinks. Like Shez has doubts. Ignatz had wishes. Caspar wants everyone to keep going. Sylvain thinks he died protecting nothing. Annette seems that she doesn't want to die, but knows that this it. Balthus makes a joke about it. Hilda is in denial. Ingrid welcomes death. Ferdinand saw a bright future ahead of him, but was tragically cut short. Marianne has no regrets They're all sad.
At least Ingrid finds some kind of peace and pride in her death, Annette is just suffering. I found Petra's even sadder, longing for her homeland and not knowing what will become of it.
I think Ingrid, Jeritza, Shamir, Shez, and Constance have the saddest dialogues, as everyone has pointed out Brittany’s delivery is so perfect. Jeritza is also kinda heartbreaking to me once you know his backstory and why he did what he did, all to protect his big sister Mercie. I wasn’t expecting Shamir’s dialogue to be so sad. I just felt bad for Shez, I didn’t know they thought that about themselves. And Constance, all she wanted was to restore her family’s name, both her indoor and outdoor death quotes hit differently. Jeritza’s is extra sad in that he was always seeking the release of death, yet when he finally gets it, he doesn’t get the glory of Death Knight, but the memories of Emile
5:58 Imagine being the horse that kills Marianne. Makes one wonder if it was hostile towards Marianne or if the horse held no hostility to her whike internally sceeaming, "I'm sorry!", since Marianne is able to communicate with animals and vice-versa.
I know this is supposed to be sad, but I can't help finding it funny how the enemies keep hitting them even when they're already dead. Especially when their body gets serious air time
I was kind of expecting Jeritza to recite the, "To kill, to die, to know one without the other would be maddening," cause I thought it would be a cool callback. But this one was a lot sadder 😭
Also Hapi make feel in three houses she is genuine afraid of death and what coming next, like she was having a panic attack while dying that horrible :’(
The first death i got was Claude's, seeing him laying there with his dead Wyvern, struggling to make some sense of what just happened to him as he's fading to an eternal sleep... It was sad, especially since he's my fav character in 3h. I'm so sorry Claude!
Huh, the Ashen Wolves finally got their English death screams. Also, does Marianne and Flayn not have screams or was it put in too early? Also Byleth, Sothis and Arval are the ones who withdrawn from battle (although it makes sense for the latter two seeing as they're just gods of sorts). Wow...
Zach Aguilar also gets his death scream in the game this time. In Three Houses, it’s still the Chris Niosi death scream even after Zach was patched in (which I didn’t mind because Chris’ scream was amazing.)

Flayn and Marianne have screams, they just didn't get caught in the vid because they can be cut off for more grunts if the fatal blow multitaps, and the Paladin's charge attack is... well, you saw. You can kinda hear it with Dedue as well; he gets hit a few more times after he screams but before the death quote kicks in, and he does damage grunts.
Shez has a routed dialogue during gatekeepers paralogue that is something like "I sure picked a good day to get lost" I'm thinking there may be more unique routed and death voicelines within the game?
Is there a difference between the death quotes and the retreat quotes for the different difficulty selections? If yes, could you do just them retreating next?
So to add another question related to this, are some of these only available in missions with the record keeper? Like I underatand the Renown ng+ characters but characters like Hubert and Hilda are only available on one route and they retreat or you game over if they die normally Edit: meant to ask this on a different comment, woops
@@Manavine Pretty odd... especially since they have a Game Over quote that says "So this...is what it means to die? Strange." Sounds like a death quote but it doesn't seem to be...
@@rielysolorzano1339 Yeah, the actual death quote in game is "I never thought it would end...like this..." so it's weird. I assume it probably was a 1.5th route, where it goes normal but you know, Byleth doesn't do the thing because you recruited. Likely was cut... but they probably forgot to enable it back for the final chapter.
The demo had some characters who didn’t die due to plot reasons. I wonder if there’s a point where they could die, since they do die in this video. Or maybe it’s for record battles
For me personally Whenever I control For an example Shez and He or She dies the sad music doesn’t play only Battlefield music plays during character death Quote but If control someone besides Shez or other characters if they die I’ll encounter a Sad music and they’re death quote
with byleth you can still die, theres a scene in which byleth is on the ground dying, saying "I never thought it would end like this" the one in this video is different
Dang all of these were so sad. Hubert, Ingrid, MC, hits me so hard. But “death knight” tragic backstory of his childhood leading him to become this monster and him only wanting to be with his sister Mercedes as a happy kid is very sad.
This video kinda illustrates why the Golden Deers are my least favourite. Hilda is the worst of these by far, Claude and Holst sound like they don’t care too much, Ignatz, Marianne, and Lorenz sound somewhat detached, Ignatz, Lysethia and Raphael’s are the only ones that sounds sad. Best: Ingrid (She is still fighting for life even as she says her last words) 2: Annette (Only realising she is dying once her body stops moving) 3: Lysethia (Her whole fear has been her knowledge of her own untimely death; she dies even earlier) 4: Yuri (Aside from being my favourite character, he was extremely religious. His prayers went unnoticed) 5: Jertiza (He always wanted to die, yet when it finally happens, he just wishes he could live as Emile)
Ok i so not like Raphael but damn his is really sad he has a little sister waiting for him to come home but all what comes at best are soldiers or friends to deliver the message of his passing
Here’s an interesting question I have since I played all three routes on Casual mode. If Hubert, Ferdinand, Monica, Lorenz, Hilda, Holst, Dedue, Felix, and Rodrigue die in classic mode, what happens to the cg cutscenes they appear in?

Other than Claude of course. I feel like Ignatz and Leonie are the ones out of place because of their reasons as opposed to them in Three Houses. Ignatz wanted to be an artist so him viewing more of the world makes sense, but since he became a knight, I feel like that's why it's out of place here. Byleth was the reason for him staying true to his artist dream, but since they never met in this time-line, he was bound to be a knight to please his parents. It feels a little odd that Leonie has that quote even if for a few reasons; In the case that you never recruited Jeralt and Byleth or if it happens before then. Her promise was that if anything happened to him, she'd support Byleth in his place. Like I said, out of place because what if Byleth was still the enemy to her. In my opinion, that just seems odd.
@@AkemiHikari Ignatz’s quote makes sense once you get his supports and realize that’s still what he wants to do, and a few characters encourage him to pursue his actual dreams of seeing the world
