One of its dex entries mentions how its lights tend to confuse people. -Stufful: May involve the word scuffle, given its dex entry states how it has aggressive tendencies and gets into fights a lot. -Comfey: May involve the word fey/fay/fae, which seems to be used in relevance to fairies a lot. -Passimian: May involve a play on the term prosimian, which is a group of primates that includes lemurs. -Palossand: May involve the word palo [Spanish for small shovel] and possibly the word colossal. Also literally sounds like "pile o' sand" if you say it fast. You also spelled Palace wrong. -Minior: May also involve Minor and Armor. -Togedemaru: May involve the individual words Toge [Japanese for thorn/spine], Denki [Japanese for electricity] and Maru [Japanese for round] -Tapu Bulu: Bulu actually doesn't mean anything in Hawaiian. I think Nihilego might just be from the Latin Nihil meaning "nothing", not necessarily nihilist or the belief of nihilism. And I can't believe they named UB-02 Buzzwole.

also I want to make an add on to your ultimate theory of awesomeness. Delta in Chemistry formulas means "to heat" or "to change". With the Delta episode Pokemon was telling us that it was changing (for better or for worse we will have to see). But it gets even better. Evolution's definition is change over time. This is really what Pokemon was hinting at us. That it is evolving to adapt to the times and continue to do so as long as it exists. :)

Im a little late but I wanted to say this just in case. Koko can also be blood in Hawaiian. So it could translate to "forbidden blood", which might to the fact that Tapu Koko is a Deity of war, and the the design origin is based of Ku, the Hawaiian god of war.

Another name origin for Trumbeak could be "Trumpet beak" because the Pokédex calls it the Bugle Pokémon (or something like that). A bugle is a type of trumpet that has no valves.

I believe Marshadow is more Mars + shadow, Mars as in the Roman god of war.

Oricorio could also be partially in reference to an oratorio, which is a large-scale vocal work usually involving religious or spiritual content. It makes sense considering oricorio is a bird pokemon with obvious, close associations to music as well as the Alola region's strong emphasis on ancient tradition and local mythology.

Trumbeak also references trumpets. If you watch its beak it actually flares out at the end during some animations.

For the Tiger part of Torracat, I was thinking more of Tora, Japanese for Tiger. For the Turtle Turtle bit, "Am I turtley enough for the turtle club? Turtle turtle turtle!" I couldn't resist that. XD

For Type: Null, the Pokédex didn't name it. The three Pokémon were originally named Type: Full, but when it was restricted, the creators changed the names of the three into Type: Null. Also, I think the Trum in Trumbeak is supposed to be Trumpet, because when it attacks, it uses an animation that looks like it's blowing a horn. Hence the name "Bugle Beak Pokémon."

A few of these aren't quite right, or are at the very least are a little bit off. I've listed them below: - Decidueye (Deciduous + Deadeye/Hawkeye), referencing it being an archer or a sharpshooter, commonly referred to as a deadeye. - Popplio (Pop Star + Popping bubbles + Sea Lion), makes sense with its' whole evolution line focusing around a singer theme as it evolves. - Toxapex (Toxic + Apex), likely referencing the fact that it is an "apex predator", since it feeds on Corsola. The apex part could also reference it having apex defenses, as in it being extremely potent defensively as well. - Comfey (Mostly correct, but... Comfy + Fae + Lei), Fae referencing the fact that it's a fairy type. A comfy fairy lei. - Pheromosa (Pheromone + Mosa), Mosa being an urban dictionary term, which apparently means "A very sexy, attractive girl that will initially draw you in by her eyes". This makes sense as one of Pheromosa's main notable design aspects are her eyes and attractive looks. This may seem like a stretch, but seeing as Buzzwole's name includes "swole" in it, which is also an urban dictionary term, this theme seems very likely. Not to mention Team Skull's very urban thematics, which tie in well with these concepts.

Ruff could also refer to the structure around the pokemon's neck resembling a collar, that is made from rocks

Minior also has 'ore' in its name, a rock that minerals or metals are found in. Minior is found in a mine, so this fits quite well.

Alolan Decidueye is based on the Stilt-Owl, a species of owl native to Hawaii that went extinct. This is why Decidueye is a Ghost-Type and has long legs. Hisuian Decidueye is a Samurai Archer. With its head feathers made to resemble a ayaigasa hat, which was worn by samurai archers for hunting or ceremonial purposes. Either that or it is a Japanese kasa hat. Hisuian Decidueye is also based on Cikap-kamuy, the god of owls and the land to the Ainu people, who are the indigenous people of Hokkaido.

Pretty sure the latter part of Toxapex's name has something to do with "apex predator". As in what it is to Corsola. Also, have you heard of cosmogony? The study of the origin of celestial bodies and even the universe? That likely played a big part in Cosmog's name, too.
