Their biggest problem is acquisition cost, I think that Kevin could have solved that situation almost immediately, the product definitely does not sell by itself. They should have countered with a reduced royalty until they start to become profitable.

The deal made by Kevin is a no-brainer. If you think about it, the royalty could be covered since kevin is an expert in bringing CPA down. and he was only taking 10% , they still have 90%. One of those cringe deals where the entrepreneur wanted to "stand up" for themselves. You can also tell in the end the husband is so sad. Horrible execution by that lady.
