I've begun to respect lord Eddard Stark a lot after seeing this. He tarnished his reputation to keep his word and fulfill his sisters last wish. Makes me look at him in se1 and wonder what a great king he would have been.
As if Eddard Stark couldn’t be more honourable, it turned out the one thing Ned did that was ‘dishonourable’ was possibly the most honourable thing he’s ever done. Such a great character.
Just think about the ridicule Ned faced. The scrutiny from his wife, the scrutiny from other lords. He was known to be the most noble and honorable and he took a knock on that because his sister had fallen in love and had a child with an enemy of his. And he kept a promise to his sister to raise that child in secret. Ned was the best character in that world and he raised his true heir in Jon. The true heir.
It's absolutely heart breaking and amazing how Ned Stark is willing to be belittle by his wife and fellow friends and peers, just to make sure Jon was safe and the secret was kept hidden. It's tragic how much he's willing to give up and his honor be spit all because he loves his sister and nephew. Good job, Ned. You will surely be missed.
Love how everyone is all dewy eyed over brave and noble Rhaegar and his ''love-story'' with the beautiful Lyanna and no justice shit is ever done to Elia.
