It should be noted that in Japan, Gundam Wing was the Gundam show after G Gundam. Which doesn't exactly invalidate the Gundam Wing spottings, cause they were probably working on it about the time G Gundam was ending and may of put some prototype designs of Wing in the mass attack scenes.
Absolute facts right here. In addition to that point, a lot of the same animators worked on both animes and the Mechanical Design team was nearly identical for both (Katoki and Okawara). It's reasonable to presume they were foreshadowing the next anime. Not sure how anyone could say the sightings of the XXXG-01W are invalid, we see it so clearly in a few shots and it looks exactly as it does in its anime.
@@thomasmcghee2430 G Gundam is literally the only Anime set in the Future Century timeline, does that invalidate every other cameo in the final 2 episodes? How about Zambot 3 and Daitarn 3 not even being in any Gundam universe? I suppose those are all just identical looking robots from Neo Nations we've never heard of?
@@thomasmcghee2430 Actually, it's been confirmed that Turn A Gundam unified all the Gundam series into one universe. They're just in different eras and time periods.
@@TheWeebinar when the forces of Earth are launching their gundams I do believe it is legit riding a rocket, it may have been a different MS, but I know for a fact that the Crossbone is in G Gundam
@@corbingarrison7167 You are not mistaken at all. Episode 48 at about 6 minutes and 37 second you can clearly see the Crossbone Gundam holding onto a rocket as it launches into space. That is one that I missed but we know about now, thank you for bringing this to my attention.
@@corbingarrison7167 Agreed. Crossbone would make a really awesome anime series. I think it would perfect for a more adult oriented style of Gundam but sadly Sunrise doesn't seem to agree.
Clearly you are a person of good taste. The Tequila Gundam is one of the very best. If you buy the Ultra Edition Blu Ray of Mobile Fighter G Gundam they include a Tequila Gundam shot glass because Sunrise is awesome like that.
I am German. I am not sure why they opted for a ninja design for Germany's gundam, though I heard there was some sort of fascination with ninjas in the 80s or so. Also, Spiegel means mirrour, so it would be called Mirrour Gundam if it was a literal translation. I'm not sure what the original word is in Japanese, but if they decided to use the German word for shadow (schatten, pronounced sh-ah-ten), I imagine people would not take it seriously.
@@TheWeebinar My pleasure, it's probably one of the only instances where I'm able to answer some niche question about Germany rather than one of my countrymen doing so.
I have no facts, but i do have a theory about why the Spiegel is designed to look like a ninja. While the German culture dates back to ancient times, Germany as a nation has only existed since 1871. This gives the designers a relatively small window of time to pull inspiration from, and a large portion of that time is taken up by Germany featuring as the aggressors in 2 world wars and being split between 2 larger powers during the cold war. The show runners probably decided that, given the Spiegel's and Neo-Germany's importance to the overall story, most of the culturally appropriate designs would either be offensive to large portions of the audience or would be too goofy for a suit with such a prominent role. Most likely, the inspiration to make it a ninja came from he simple fact that ninjas are cool and it played into the hidden nature of the suit's pilot. Like I said, it's just a theory.
G Gundam is the greatest fucc you to reality the Gundam franchise ever made and I love that about it. You can feel that the creators really cared and gave it everything they had.
I remember as a kid being disappointed when there was no Neo Philippines when it aired here in GMA Network in around 1999 (If I remember correctly). But, our country was not that well known back then. But, there's no denying that this is still one of my most favorite Gundam series. When I got older, I realized that this is the only series that had a solution to a freakin' war. Do a battle royal of mechs per country ala Street Fighter style. Lol!
I love Nobel Gundam, or The Sailor V Gundam!!! I also love Bearguy 3, who is a giant, yellow bear with a bow on it's back and it is able to show different expressions but that thing appears in a different Gundam franchise! However, I found it very cute!
In the cameo sections, pointing out the Gundam being named would help for idiots like me who dont know much about Gundam beyond G Gundam, but of course this is a channel for hardcore fans. I have to watch G Gundam again, so many Suits i didnt even remember!
Not really a channel for hardcore fans(yet) but definitely one that is managed by a hardcore fan. Thank you for mentioning this, it was something I had not considered and I will make sure that in future installments the narration will be more explicit about all of the mechs in scenes like that.
Very true. Based on my limited understanding, Japanese people generally don't give a fuck about that sort of thing so it would fall upon deaf ears and would likely only end up making it more popular.
I haven't even watched this series yet as I've only seen Gundam Wing so far. I love how the G series pushes the silly envelope. I think the Potato Gundam (8) is my favorite. Now if I really wanted to try to take this scene seriously, I might imagine it was a nickname joke as some people call the MSM-03 Gogg "The Potato." MSM-03 Gogg was one of the action figures I got back in the day. I still have him in a box somewhere.
G Gundam is literally if you smash Dragon Ball Z and Gundam together. The English Dubbing is fantastic if you enjoy Gundam and fun anime definitely check it out.
Neo Mexico's gundam name was renamed to Spike Gundam in the english dub. Also, Neo Singapore's gundam reminds me of one of those battle bots with detatchable drones...
Interesting, having looked over Aura Battler Dunbne extensively I'm not quite sure but it seems highly plausible that you are right. Hard to tell because of how small the suit is but if it is Aura Battler Dunbine, it seems to have it's trademark wings retracted.
I just realized that this gundam series wouldn't pass if it aired today to the modern audience, heck it was already controversial back in the day that they had to replace the names for the god gundam and satan gundam, I imagine the backlash for this specific series would be different now with the rise of sensitive people getting offended over stereotypes 😂
Have looked over the GT-9600 and I think you have quite a compelling case. It doesn't appear to have any of it's armaments in the cameo but the color scheme and overall design appear to match it quite well. Unless someone else can provide better evidence, I'm more than willing to identify #4 as the Leopard Gundam. Thank you for contributing!
After a bit of research, and considering Borneo's close proximity to Malaysia, I think you are right. Always wondered why Malaysia's Gundam was named that and you may have finally solved the mystery.
I can answer that. If the trivia/Fun Fact I heard is true, apparently the Skull Designed Gundam used came from a Fan Magazine Contest, hence the vague skull theme I suppose?
@@RockNerd231 After some research, it turns out that you are totally correct about this. Page 198 of The Art & Data of Mobile Fighter G Gundam from the Ultra Edition Blu Ray pack states "The August issue of Comic BomBom turned out to be a watershed moment. The Magazine held the Big 3 Contest jointly with their sister publication Deluxe BomBom and the kid-oriented TV Magazine. The Contest received over 3,000 entries. The Winning entries would go on to appear in the show as the Asura Gundam and the Skull Gundam"
@@TheWeebinar Omg thank you for confirming! It was the story I kept hearing (and I knows the plethora of supposed “designed by a fan” characters in anime lol) and I always kept forgetting the second one mentioned. Thanks again bro for going as far to check that just for us fans(:
After looking closely at Zeta Gundam, the evidence says that you are totally right, thank you! This comment also got me thinking about what Gundam is under the Nobel Gundam in that picture and it is clearly the top of ZZ Gundam in MS Mode. Thanks again Cesar!

Many thanks for clearly up Neo Cuba's and Neo Iraq's Gundams as I thought the Gundam beaten first by Chibbidy was Neo Cuba's Gundam as the English dubbing doesn't give it a proper country's name whereas the Gundam about to fight Neo France's Rose Gundam isn't named and I just assumed it was some random African country based around looks because that's kinda how the anime worked.
If it is, the coloring is off. NT-1's legs are almost completely white with the thrusters on either side being blue it also has blue feet whereas the mech pictured has white feet. That being said, it could be a poorly animated Gundam "Alex".
only anime? A shame. Otherwise more people would finally know about Neo Australias Masterpiece, the Jumping gundam. A giant mecha Kangaroo piloted by an actual Kangaroo mother with her kid having a seperate deployable mini mobile suit:
So I just realized that the Jumping Gundam is actually real and you were actually lamenting the fact that this video does not cover the plethora of Mobile Fighters in the Mangas. Totally thought you were kidding, text to text communication be like that sometimes, glad I was wrong. Between this and other comments it looks like I'm gonna have to circle back and do a Manga version of this video.
¡Acordado! Es glorioso e incluso hicieron un vaso de chupito con el Tequila Gundam impreso. Viene con la edición de coleccionista de Blu Ray y nunca he dejado de usar la mía.
I am sad the tequila gundam didn’t get much time to shine, it is such a cool looking design in my opinion. I would definitely buy it if it was a thing.
At 31:21 I think you can see both the Zeta near the top and the ZZ near the bottom there. Not totally sure on the former but I am reasonably sure for the latter that that is ZZ since the red wings on the arm match that pretty well along with the pauldrons
That is correct. Kevin Williams decided what the title of this video would be when he requested it and we didn't really go in depth opting more for a list. If you want something more factully correct and detail oriented please watch this top 10 video I did on Mobile Fighters: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OSxJjLuGs9U.html
@31:20 It's the Zeta Gundam at the top middle. At the top right is the Victory 2 Gundam. At the bottom left is the ZZ Gundam. Not sure who's at the bottom right.
Thank you for commenting. It's hard to tell if you're right about the Victory 2 because the coloring isn't right(it's not right for a Guntank either) but I'm definitely willing to believe it's a poorly drawn Victory 2 because of the distance. Bottom right is Neo-Cuba's Arachno Gundam
Dude.... I know I'm goated when it comes to gundam... but the box sets are so beautiful (T_T) Also watching the episodes where Shining Gundam takes a beating in the Highlands and gets left makes me emotional for some reason... Shining Gundam is a little underrated
The box sets really are something special. Some of them are hard to come by and are almost triple the price that they were when they were released but they are worth getting. Even the Seed and Seed Destiny box sets, which are admittedly lacking in comparison to the other 3, are very well made and come with amazing art books. Also, yes, the Shining Gundam deserved better.
You know, after seeing this comprehensive list (good job with it, specially the cameos section), I would like to know if you would tackle this project: You see, at the end of the manga of Shin Mazinger Zero vs. Great General of Darkness (when Koji Kabuto is convincing Mazinger Zero to return everything back to normal) Go Nagai managed to add a lot of cameos, would you please name them all in the same way you did here? Thank You.
Consider it added to the list of projects! Having done a little research on the subject I'm curious: do these cameos appear in the 1974 OVA as well or is it just in the Manga?
@@TheWeebinar That I know of, just in the manga. If am not wrong, the true end of Shin Mazinger Zero has never been adapted, neither as an OVA nor as an anime (sadly enough).
Alright, thanks for clarifying. Will comment back with an update when work begins on the project, thank you for suggesting it. I know a little about it but have zero experience with the Mazinger franchise and am excited to dig into it.
@@TheWeebinar Oh, thanks! Being honest, I myself didn't know about Mazinger either till some years ago thanks to Super Robot Wars (don't know if you know that franchise).
I think the one in the middle in 31:14 is a zate gundam , And the one in the bottom is a Double Zeta also I think the one in the middle at 31:55 is not a gundam mk 2 but a gp01 Zephyranthes, and also maybe the blue one and the right is re-gz
At 33:00, I believe to the right of 8 is another Guncannon, based on coloring, pack, and what looks to be the, well, Cannons. In the following scene, about 34:00, I believe that number 6 is an Ebi Gundam. Further supporting this theory is the presence of a Kani Gundam.
After much consideration, I believe you are correct about the suit to the right of number 8. What threw me off was the greenish coloring but after looking closely at the foot of the other Guncannon it is clearly similarly colored but isn't in the light as much as the other one. Nice catch, thank you! As for the other one(number 6), I don't think that's an Ebi Gundam. To my eye that is some sort of mecha that has blades for arms, pronounced shoulder armor and some sort of large crest on its head. Compare it with the picture found here: www.gunpla101.com/deep-dive-references-in-gundam-build-divers-episode-15/ of an Ebi Gundam and you will see the differences.
I still believe it's an Ebi, though poorly drawn. It's definitely colored weird, compared to the pink ones earlier. It has the claws, and the Ebi earlier has a large 'head, with giant eyebrow crests, which you can see in the picture, though they look to be coming out of the arms due to how it's drawn. Then it's just body and tail. As said, I think it's poorly drawn to quickly get it in and I don't know what is up with the coloring. But that's why I think it's an Ebi... and the other Denmark gundams in the same ''layer' of background as it. Incidentally, I wonder if number 8 down there is a really shitty 'far away' drawing of a Matador Gundam?
my favorite in the series is the Rose gundam sad tho the HG version of this is only P bandai :( Tho i do dream of an Oh Sh*t Pharoah gundam kit down the line
When does this happen? or are you referencing the XM-X1 Crossbone Gundam being shot into space while riding a rocket in the second to last episode? If you are then that is something I missed and others have brought up in the comments.
@@TheWeebinar when Conta N'Doul says they are being deployed from the Neo Sweden base the last one that ignites for liftoff just after the Crossbone Gundam is definitely the RX-78 edit: so yeah you barely missed it apparently
Just looked and you are absolutely correct, episode 48 at around 6:28 is unmistakably the OG RX-78 holding on to the last rocket being launched. Thanks for pointing this out.
Well to be honest, most gundams in this series look weird and creepy However, I would love to if Bandai will create at least a MODERN HG Model of each one aside of the ones that are already produced.
Your confusion is understandable. The term "suit" is actually an acronym for Space Utility Instrumental Tactical. The term is often used to describe robots from the Gundam universe although in this particular anime the vast majority of these robots are actually called "Mobile Fighters". You can find more information about this subject here: gundam.fandom.com/wiki/Mobile_Weapon
As I recall, the XXXG-01SR was made specifically for use on the Earth in Desert areas which made it rather hard to operate once outside of earth's atmosphere. If it wasn't a Gundam it would have likely not even been possible to use there since, much like the MS-07B Gouf, it was never intended to be used in space.
Yes, just the Anime. Kevin Williams requested it that way so that's the way we did it. Perhaps in the future there will be a follow up that covers all of the awesome manga only stuff. It's definitely in the plans to circle back to Mobile Fighter after we cover some of the other franchises so that may very well be the subject of that video.
@@TheWeebinar it's not! LOL I just thought I'd have some fun! But if it was, it would have to have a cowboy hat, like Ramrod from Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs and a Tequila Gundam's cloak. Stylized cowboy boots (with spurs), have a Big Iron on his hip, and supremely important is the soft, deep Texas drawl where one word just leans into the next. Not that "Howdy Doody" crap but if it spoke, you know that the Gundam was from Texas.
@@TheWeebinar There is a Texas Colony in th original Gundam, though. It doesn't get much press, but it pops up from time to time in games and other media.
After your description, I totally wish Neo Texas did have a Mobile Fighter hahaha. Also I was today years old when I found out that Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs existed.
As a German, no, we have no German Ninjas, that's mad propaganda and absolutely not an attempt from Japan to reveal the truth, no sir! Move along. I said weitergehen!
This is absolutely going to happen, thank you for requesting it! Will be doing all of the anime in the UC first and then one gigantic video afterward so this will likely be a long time down the road. In a related matter the first installments from the UC timeline will be getting 3 videos in the very near future.
In America, yes. Like many others it had its name changed, the original Japanese name for it is Kowloon which is the name of a rather peculiar city in what used to be Hong Kong.
Agreed, allegedly they did it to not offend Christian people but not sure how a narrative where God defeats the Devil would do that. Almost all of the American changes are objectively worse, even the ones not based on religion. For instance the Tequila Gundam in Japanese is the Spike Gundam in America.
@@TheWeebinar The religious name changes were to avoid any issues Christians may have had with trying to make their sacred book feel trivialized by a depiction in a kid's show. The fundamentalists or whatever need to have their kids see those names attached to their book, not a "kid's show" about robots punching each other--one stream of information about those names means the indoctrination sticks a lot harder, and probably also avoids questions of why god doesn't just defeat the devil like in the show, as well. Since Christianity doesn't hold anywhere close to the same weight in Japan, they don't care about that there.
You are correct. To reiterate a reply to another comment about this: Episode 48 at about 6 minutes and 37 second you can clearly see the Crossbone Gundam holding onto a rocket as it launches into space. That is one that I missed but we know about now, thank you for bringing this to my attention.
You sure about that? As far as I know North Korea, like a lot of other countries, never got one. We only covered what appears in the anime, so if it was only in a manga or Newtype Magazine that's why it isn't here. At some point in the future I'll be circling back around to do all of the other ones.
