Also why, at 3:01, is there a shot of one MP pulling down a sun visor to get the car keys? Is this foreshadowing for something else, or is he a bad guy? If he's a bad guy why is the shot so brief? If it's foreshadowing... uh same question I guess? If it's just "I bet the audience is wondering where these MPs are getting the keys to drive these cars from" WHY WOULD THE FILMMAKERS THINK THAT?! Or are we supposed to go "ha ha if only Jack Reacher had thought to jump in an MP car he would have been able to drive away seconds earlier and not have to wait a few minutes to get into an MP car..." That shot troubles me, because I know every shot in a movie takes hours to set up.
Alan Ritchson KILLED it as Reacher…Though Tom Cruise’s movies were good, after seeing Alan Ritchson as Reacher, Cruise in comparison is just like he says “Really?!?”
The biggest problem with TC is he is a foot shorter than reacher also handsome. The problem with AR is good looking. I do have say I liked both but AR was a more convincing reacher.
the prison scene always makes me laugh. 'our black colleague was leading a 5'5 guy into a prison cell. 1 minute later a 5'5 MP walks out. No questions asked'
Any scene with Cobie Smulders in it should be in this cut😉 Good Lord that is a beautiful lady. Unfortunately the US Army does not issue Majors who look like that…😍
@@914Rocky Two issues with this silly argument. 1) Cruise got the films made, no movies and the series may have never been made. 2)If you read the books, you hear Reacher talk about SpecOps guys being built like Cruise and are very deadly.
@@jatilq Silly argument? A fundamental characteristic of Reacher is his size. There are tons of guys who are Cruise’s size who are tough. No question. But Jack Reacher is a guy who is 6’5” 250 lbs. It’s like casting a Daschund in Call of the Wild. Or a miniature pony playing Secretariat. Or a Chimpanzee playing King Kong. And chimps are way tough, they just aren’t 30 ft tall.
7:59 right after he said Fellas should have said- Ladies with an attitude Fella's that were in the mood Don't just stand there, let's get to it Strike a pose, there's nothing to it Vogue
Watched the dvd of this movie several months ago. Great movie, certainly a different role for Cobie Smulders after "How I met your Mother". Always thought she was very attractive, even hotter in camo and certainly packs a punch. LOL.
I want for someone in one of this movies to say "this phone is gonna ring in the next 10 seconds", and then it happens but it's some elderly woman that just marked the wrong number. And then nothing happens.
Anyone notice that when the girl would start to run,she would always do a little jump first? And what was up her facial ticks when she was talking to the woman on the plane?
Everyone said it when they made lil 5'5" tommy mapother Jack Reacher. He's not Jack Reacher. The new guy sure as heck is. Alan Ritchman is absolutely fabulous as Reacher. WIsh they'd chosen him to do the two movies. They'd have been believable.
Hope he can actually act in the next one, he's stiff as a board. He got the size and the voice just not the ability to glide through the character like Cruise can.
I love how you guys keep insulting another man's height, but when women have same attitude you all cry about them being too picky too superficial blah blah.
The first movie lacked depth that the second movie provided. If you wanted a generic movie about a man saving the day and the damsel in distress, the first Jack Reacher movie is for you. The second movie actually gave Reacher some more personality and depth, and I don’t see how adding two women as core parts of the storyline constitutes as “poor writing”.
Of the two Reachers, Cruise was the better. Reasons? #1 He's a superior actor. #2 The other guy looks and behaves goonishly. #3 Cruise's size is misleading, be it in a fight or in public; he hides well in plain sight. #4 Cruise is older, making Reacher appear more experienced and authoritative, and ls the greater underdog.
its impressive to see a small guy beating the ass off his opponents but a large guy beating on small guys is just normal I just want to watch the movie and not worry about the book
It's nice to see an actor (Ritchson - 6'3") at least somewhere near the height of the Jack Reacher character (6'5") instead of the shrimp who played Reacher in the films.
Cruise was NEVER Reacher...read any of the books and he was absolutely the last person you'd ever cast as Reacher. Both movies were good. Hated both movies just because of that.
I enjoyed the first film immensely. Never Go Back totally stunk and not because of Tom Cruise but lazy writing, stumbling clumsily into every action movie cliche that the first film avoided.
Agree. The first one had the first time screen presence of the "Jack Reacher" as character. The book fans were triggered by Tom's physical attributes and couldn't get past that. But Tom gave the character the experience and drifter mentality, and lethality. The first movie was very well written from start to finish, the story was very well supported and clever. The Never Go Back was weak. It was surrounding a two women, and especially the younger one, that was just annoying little brick and ruining the feelings of the movie. All the scenes were now about the girl and not about something bigger than Jack Reacher. After the first exposure for character that is as powerful as Tom made it to be, it is difficult to make it better. Alan Ritchson in the series has the physical attributes, and the show starts well, but the story was boring as hell. For a mini-series, it was half too long, with too much additional characters and obvious cliches.
@paristo - have you read any of the books? "Never Go Back" was not one of the better ones to begin with. I agree with you on the miniseries. First couple episodes were great but it just got stupider as it went, though it was faithful to the book. "Bad Luck and Trouble" (which I've not read) is the selection for the 2nd season. I will watch it but with in-check expectations. Be thankful they seem to be skipping the 2nd novel which was really boring.
@@mantislake4141 I read one of the books. Don't remember anything about it, or the name even. So might very well have been some boring ones to begin. Movies with continuity are difficult to make. Terminator 2 is one of the rare ones where second is better than first one. Then there is the mini series that I prefer over movies, but if you have good show, then longer the better. Unless someone decided to make horrible season as in Game of Thrones. It is difficult and complex to make a good entertainment.
