I would love for you to do a series on After Dark. They were always a bit hit and miss for me but there's some gold in there. I think Dark Ride might have been the first one I ever watched funnily enough. Great video, Mandy!
I really haven't watched many movies lately thank you for all the recommendations. I still need to watch Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark, perhaps perfect for this Halloween. Jaws is excellent- "We're going to need a bigger boat" 😄 Cobweb sounds very interesting!
Love the spooky voice! 💀 I'm wondering if that Japanese film you mentioned was the one that supposedly captured a real ghost during filming? I'll probably watch John Carpenter's the Thing and also the Ring (which I watched with my ex by ourselves in a movie theater in England and walked back home in the pouring rain...a bit creepy lol). Have fun watching and reading creepy stuff!
Loved Smile and Scary Stories. Watched Ginger Snaps recently and forgot how good it is. I’ve preordered Cobweb so hopefully have that to watch at Halloween 🎃
Hi Mandy. Thanks for another rad video. Would you ever consider doing a recomendation video for creepy/ scary podcasts? I have a few faves, but am always happy to hear about what other people are consuming. Thanks
I loved the ‘scary stories to tell in the dark’ books as a kid but those illustrations made me hide them in the basement because I was so terrified that they would come to life 😭 I enjoyed the movie as well. And yes I would definitely be interested in a video on your favorite ‘8 films to die for’!!
Infinity Pool is less confusing if you read JG Ballard's novel Super Cannes. It was pretty clearly inspired by it. This is just speculation, but I also read somewhere that Brandon Cronenberg was going to adapt Ballard's novel, but I think the project fell through or something, which might explain why Infinity Pool exists
I loved Infinity Pool. I thought it was more accessible on a first watch than Brandon Cronenberg's other movies. I need to rewatch Ginger Snaps soon. I just rewatched Dead and Breakfast. It's a fun mashup of many horror subgenres all crammed together. It works better than you think it would haha
I really like Dark Ride . Those After Dark movies, for the most part are pretty good. I liked Dying Breed and Mulberry St also . I love Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark . Totally rewatchable for me. I was really surprised how much I enjoyed Megan . She’s so cool looking it’s hard to look away!
Great video I agree very much with you about Huesera the bone woman it's a phenomenal film that more people should be talking about and it will definitely be on my top 10 best listf of horror this year. I was also happy to hear your thoughts about Cobweb and think it such a shame it was not released during September or October its got the perfect halloween vibe built right in and its such a fun film. I also enjoyed hearing your thoughts about There's something wrong with the children I acknowledge the movie has a ton of problems but for me it was a campy fun film but I will freely admit there isn't a lot of logic to the movie and I seemed to be the only person who enjoyed it lol. Mother May I was one I enjoyed but did not love the the performances were wonderful and I loved the ending but it did run a tad bit long but I think its still worth a watch. One movie that I would recommend that just recently came out is a film callled Birth/Rebirth its a great film thats a fresh take on a on the Frankenstein story. Again really enjoyed hearing all your thoughts great video and good insights on horror.
Yes I saw Cobweb aswell and I feel sad that it got kicked to the side I didn'ty know it came out and no one did either lol but the movie was a fun rollercoaster ride perfect for Halloween dunno why it didn't come out then.
I usually like "arty" horror movies, but I HATED Infinity Pool ! Not one character was even likeable and, like you, I was waiting for the end. Agree about the masks too.
