This video has sealed the deal, I know I want this car. This guy had to REACH for the pettiest issues he could find-that's what I'm talking about. Quality!
I won the 2018 version of this vehicle (which is v2) which has almost the identical layout, and I have none of these problems. This gentleman makes it sound like he was "forced" to buy this car lol. I can tell you, especially with the lowered price of a used one, I love this car! Most buyers of this car are first time Porsche buyers, and I can tell you it's a great way to stick your toe into the water / Porsche family.
The squeaking steering can be fixed by spraying WD40 on the rubber mount where the steering Colum goes into the floor. I had the same issue and now fixed.
Thanks, I'm considering a Macan. But over here in Europe it's a bit more expensive - so much so it might actually make sense to buy a Cayenne Coupe. You pointed out some things I do not like about the car, and it's nice to know it's not me nitpicking.
If you can pin-point where the steering noise is coming from, maybe some silicon spray using the straw might work. That noise would annoy the crap out of me.
Seems like a lot of this is cosmetic issues. Nothing with the engine or transmission, suspension. I found a 2015 for 19k with 56k miles. Wondering if I should jump on it or wait.
never had any of light problems you talking about because first thing i told dealer to tint driver side windows same as rear sit windows are tinted. air condition worked well enough once i figured out how it works(took a while). i never use rear seats and just folded them permanently and got much more trunk space for shopping and stuff. my macan doesn't have steering wheel noise however i once got curtesy macan from dealer when I did services and recalls and that one did have noise and its annoying. whipper handle position is bad i agree. i got sport and sport+ buttons. Sometimes i use them when i feel like it but wouldn't want it on all the time because of fuel consumption macan s is pretty quick even without those buttons. I would rather have car remember last settings instead. never thought about interior lights just don't care. never bothered me. guess i like it dark. when i need more i just turn on additional light on top manually and these days you can easily add all the lights you want for cheap.
There’s a button next your sport mode that has a circle around an “A” that turns off that “Automatic hold” you’re speaking off. Should be underneath the “Off Road” button. The shaking and jerking around 1RPM might be your transfer case or PDK. I’ll get that diagnosed atleast just to be safe they’ll probably recommend a fluid change. There’s also a recall for the Transfer Case see if yours still within. I think it’s 10 years or 100k. Which ever first.
I have a 2017 base and I LOVE IT! I have had to repair the turbo waste gate and the water pump which was expensive but that being said.. The lighting? it is all LED and I love it. Cramped? well it's not big. The red light? Well did you push the button just trust that you did? The wiper stock is hidden? hmmm one click up is on. The glare? Wow seriously? Use a towel, put on sun glasses. The hold button is so the car does not move ( it is in neutral after all, dual clutch transmission, amazingly quick shifts). But thanks for taking the time to talk about an amazing machine.
spray paint that trim and put in some LED light bulbs! But that stack of ridiculous buttons in the center has put me off the macan. I will squeeze my two dogs into a boxster, or just get a mini cooper and forget it.
Agree to a point Sir yes luxury problems yr spoiled (not rotten yet) LOL. Anyway i love my Macan so such that i can live with all of it you mention. And another thought the car drives about perfect as usual what more can we expect from a Porsche.
I've had two macaws. This is all such bullshit! Never noticed the problems he has. e.g. it's all over reviews that back seat space is limited. Go and get a Lexus, you'll love it!
It's the same platform the Audi Q5 uses but has less space. BWX X3, and Mercedes GLC are also 4,70 meters long as the Macan, but both cars have more legroom. there are no excuses. I guess Porsche was worried about cayenne sales
I think the "HOLD" option you described is dangerous, if your needing to slightly move forward and you must step on the gas to do so, that could become dangerous quickly.
