I've always said that pouring is the easy part. The prep and framing are the true difficult parts that require attention to detail and knowledge to successfully pull off. The difference between a long lasting job and one that does not is proper prep work. Awesome video and great job guys!
@Burago2k
@Burago2k 3 года назад
To me thats obvious, and yeah, a lot of jobs are more difficult prepping than actually starting
@jmconcretecoloradosprings
@jmconcretecoloradosprings 3 года назад
@@Burago2k You would be surprised the amount of contractors who prioritize the finishing over subgrade prep. Many people don't realize there are so many steps before pouring that require a bunch of attention to detail. This is why I watch their videos. They do everything right from beginning to end.

Hi Tom and the Hauses crew. I came over from the Morgans to check out your other work, and it definitely is a quality job your provide. The Morgan’s place just looks fantastic. I was wondering a couple things about the prep work and was hoping to get a bit of your expertise in the concrete area. I see you use mesh type rebar as opposed to creating a mesh with the rebar, is there a difference in your opinion? On the same note, I’ve always made sure that the rebar was elevated with slip sleeves in the form boards to allow for expansion. Lastly does your concrete have a tendency to have stress cracks and is there anything that can be done to prevent them? I just had my driver way poured and one of the slabs, a 12x12 just stress cracked right down the middle. Did not move but for a new job, I can’t say that I’m really impressed with the concrete mix. Thanks and will be following you along with my friends who love this stuff too!

I noticed that you don’t use any stands ( either pieces of cement bricks or actual plastic stands )to raise the rebar ?

What product do you guys use for your bendable forms? To make your radius. Also thanks for the paint strainer tip, we struggle with cleaning our sprayers. (Always clogging up). We use mineral spirits to clean out, but always a struggle.😡 Thanks for another informative video.

SDR 35 sewer pipe is as strong as schedule 40 , no need for gluing joints for sdr 35 and in winter glue joints will break because of freezing and this why schedule 40 isn.t used outside

TOM, I got a porch and sidewalk that was never sealed, poured about 3 maybe 4 summers ago. Got a crack in the 8x20 pad that I gotta fix then seal, cause the broom finish holds the dirt and is stained. I'm gonna power wash it again then seal it. The contractor left me some 'Diamond Clear Vox' sealer from the patio pour he did last month to use on it, but I see that it is for fresh concrete tho. Any recommendations to what I can use? Is this stuff OK? I know you're in the business to make money, but can you give me some advice? Thanks. Much appreciated. Letting you know, yinz really pay attention to detail, just wish I could of had yinz do my job!
@Concretewiththehauses
@Concretewiththehauses 3 года назад
Hi John thanks for watching diamond clear is a good product put it on and two light coats if the product is older than six months I would suggest getting a new can and as far as the crack we use a product from Home Depot it is called crack filler it comes in a squeeze bottle shake it real good and you can put it on slowly and neatly and wipe clean.you did mention it was stained this is just gray so be careful you don’t want good luck if you need any more advice give a call tom

@@Concretewiththehauses TOM !! Thanks for replying! As far as caulking, I used 'Tremco Dymonic FC' when I caulkedthe expansion joint at the block wall after the patio pour. Used limestone color, tooled it in with wet finger, then sprinkled play sand almost a perfect color match! Ordered a diamond grinding wheel 'crack chaser' to repair front porch crack. SERIOUSLY, thanks for your channel, I learned SO much about concrete, yinz really helped me out! Especially when you personally commented before to me about rebar, wire, and fibercrete! I'm sharing your channel with others cause it's interesting, and informative! Keep growing!! And again... THANK YOU!!!!!
