Hey! I'm happy that you found something that works and are sticking to it! Severe dedication! I am the same way with my hair. Tired of trying 20 different products. lol
I love how you always use the same products not a different product every wk and saying that is what works... keep sticking to what you use I can watch you do your hair over and over again
My mother always used grease and water on my hair growing up. I'm sure many women would say the same. It's always good to go back to the basics. I'm 48 now and still use it.
I find that interesting so many grew up that way. My mother never used water, except when she washed our hair. But she DID use grease. I think she didn't use water because it would revert our hair back from being hot combed.
I stopped using it when I became natural and went crazy on products. Now I turned back the hands time because my hair was crazy long when my mom did my hair as a kid. And now blue magic isy best friend.
I been trying to tell people grease is the holy grail when they ask how I grew my hair out so long and thick. They always say “ I’m not using grease” 😂😂😂 well then I guess you wanna keep that breakage going then
I believe in grease...since I started this method I was able to maintain my hair for 3 months without any protective styles. I never experienced that before in 8 years of being natural!
@@Razorempress twists and mini twists...I would lightly spritz them with water, when needed, during the week and wear my hair out on weekends...so much definition and so moisturized! Your video inspired me to try a braid out :)
I only use grease and water. It does more for my hair than any leave in, butter or creme which all made my hair feel dry. I shampoo, condition, then apply the grease onto wet/damp hair. I braid or twist to style. Soft as can be and stays moisturized for days. Also gives me more movement and hang time in braid-outs and twist outs.
@@kaykay56 I typically leave my hair alone in braids or twists for the week so it remains moist until my weekly wash day. If it gets dry I spray it with some water and add a bit of grease to my ends and rebraid/twist.
All I use is grease, water & oil in my daughter's hair and she has some serious hang time🤗 Blue magic is the GOAT and long reigning OG in the hair game😉👌🏽
I prefer using a leave in or moisturizer as well before putting in the grease bc I have found out that the ends of my hair stay moisturized longer compared to doing jz water and grease only.
@@aka_bunny i use mainly any hydrating cream conditioner and sometimes I’ll seal with oil before adding the grease. I don’t really stick to the same hair products because I like to try new ones every few months, but right now I have been using the melanin Haircare leave in
The women in my life always greased my hair when I was younger… when I got older and went natural my hair was always dry and leave in conditioner doesn’t really do anything but I used some Blue Magic today and my hair is so moisturized !!!
Mothers used Water and Grease in the 70’s-80’s to make the juiciest ponytails. A childhood friend use to use lotion and grease. Some People used what they had, and most people had beautiful hair. I Our ancestors intuitively knew what to do!
Blue M. DixiePeach. Royal Crown all CHEAP and good but I can’t do the fragrance so I’m using plain old Vaseline with the water and leave in works great for me and I’m careful so hardly no breakage
@@willmitchell2553 the only thing you need to worry about is petroleum build up. the lipids in the petroleum jelly can build up to dangerous levels. Eventually, they can cause an uncommon, but life-threatening, condition known as lipoid pneumonia. It’s can seep into your skin and build up over time.
3 weeks now I've been using grease and clove water in my hair. Will wash and cleanse every 3 weeks. My hair feels so thick and healthy. Planning on doing this for the rest of 2022, no braids just wigs
I literally just started doing this and with all the products I've used. I don't think my hair has ever felt this soft. I add rosemary and a bay leave to my water and leave it overnight its very dark in the morning. :)
Girl water and grease only. I have tried, tested and proven it. My hair used to be dry and unappealing. Since I started using hair grease my life changed. The length rentention is crazy. The grease locks in the water and keeps my hair moisturized for days. I stretched my hair yesterday and I couldn't believe I got so much hair in 1 year after a big chop. There is no turning back for me. Grease has my heart, go check it for yourself. Where is no oils no butters going?😂😂😂.
The results speak for themselves 🤣 my hair has retained length by using grease. I won’t be doing the no oils or butters challenge this winter sorry…my hair would cancel me!
Thank you for this vid! I like my natural hair products. But girl there is nothing that can keep my 4a/4b hair moisturized like grease. It works! And it stays true! I don't have to worry about these products changing formulations, being discontinued, or cancealed! Blue Magic was my jam as a kid and ORS coconut hair conditioner when I was relaxed over 10 years ago. I have been natural for 10 years! And as much as I tried keeping my hair moisturized and growing it past armpit length has been a struggle. Now I am a don't care use what works natural and I use grease from time to time and not so natural hair products. I cut my hair in a bob just above my shoulder last year and now it is past my shoulders almost armpit length. Thanks to you and others here on you tube who have demonstrated that grease is "the one", I am going to keep going to see how long it will get by new years. Thanks so much.
Honestly, when I was still in HS and living at home, I was using water and Dax hair grease only, my relaxed hair grew like weeds. Ever since I stopped using hair grease, I get fairy knots all over the place. I went back to grease about a year ago and will not go back.
@@sonsofelshamy3987 you can use your natural hair(without using extensions) and do box braids or twists , i strongly suggest this . don’t style your hair everyday because that is too much manipulation. it’s ok to wear a ponytail but make sure you keep your hair protected !
Sis put me onto that Blue Magic and my hair has been crawling like crazy. Yaaaasssss!!! Chile it is the truth and does so much for my hair than the $15 and up products
This gives me so much hope. I big chopped January 2020. I’ve been stagnant in my growth. I know my hair can grow better. I started using grease 2 months ago and notice a difference
I can't use grease, because it's too heavy. My mother switched from Dax to olive oil when I was approximately ten years old; I'm 59 years old now, and I still use an oil mixture: evoo, jojoba, argan, boaba, and almond oil (I make it myself). I think that going back to the basics e.g. grease and/or oils is the best route and frugal. It's not always necessary to go the expensive route to attain healthy hair.
would it work on 4c hair too? I'm more of an old school type and am confused with other people using soo many different products every time to the point I'm confused. I'm trying to figure it out on my own and what hair oil I should use to grow out my edges, hair and to strengthen?
Thank you for sending me back to my roots with Blue Magic. It is the best moisturizer for my hair. Honestly, it works better than any moisturizer I've used in the past 3 years.
I left grease behind back in the day because it made my sheets oily and caused me to have lot of acne break outs and scalp itching. But I am glad this works for you. Grease is really affordable.
@@ASmith-jn7kf this is an older picture I actually have 18 inches of hair. Something about oil in grease is irritating to my skin. I do cover my hair but the grease still seeps through and gets into the sheets. When I stopped with grease all of my issues went away. If grease works for you by all means use it, however, I was just talking about my experience.
@@du3844-m4v maybe you are putting too much. Your hair shouldn’t be soaking with grease. Rub it in your palms, as you do lotion and rub it into your hair. You don’t need much
Blue magic will always be my best friend lol my mom kept my hair laid with that stuff. Ends were good, twists were always juicy like you get no breakage and can truly retain length. Wonderful conditioning grease. I used to flat iron my hair with it (idk why I stopped) oh yeah I gotten older and don't have time 😂😂😂
I remember when I was younger my mom would put blue magic grease on my hair and scalp. That helped my hair grow so much, I thought to myself man I should have been started using it for my hair😂😂but I'm using it now, can't wait for results!😊
I guessed correctly, as to which side you do your normal thing! When both sides were braided didn't see any difference. And on the twist out, I saw the difference. You were correct in comparison fluffy vs Moe definition. 👍🏾
Early! Your hair is gorgeous - can’t wait to try and bring back the old school grease action. I need to see about this Indian hemp though, it is clearly working for you!
Thank you for the tutorial I have started using the blue magic Indian hemp with moisturizer and it looks good waiting for the results will let you know how it works, love your personality stay bless ❤❤🙏
I start using blue magic Indian hemp and my hair is soft and moisture thanks for the tutorial I will continue to use it love your video stay bless princess ❤🇬🇾
I moisturize my hair the exact same!! I do the over all ,, then my ends on the damp hair! Plat it n my desired style then wear maybe a week or so before I redo! The thing I hate about this/my hair growth journey is the scalp oil massages! It’s awesome 😎 but I feel like I’m causing friction to my hair cause y it’s styled I think I’m thinning n breaking the hair because it’s pulled different ways while I’m massaging! And it’s aging my style very quickly ! So really I wouldn’t massage scalp til like 4-5days after my style! Cause it’ll naturally frizz around that time anyhow! Right now my hair is in twist n they’re pretty frizzy! But I just expanded the time I’m wearing them by French braiding them so another two weeks to go before I refresh them!🤩🤩😁😁⚡️⚡️ come on hair growth!!!! Yaaaaasss!!!❤️🔥❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥✨✨✨✨👑👑👑 love your vids girl👑👑 and I’m true to my ble magic grease as well since a little girl always did me righteous!! Lol right now I’m using the coconut kind called proclaim hair n scalp conditioner! But I don’t use it heavy to the scalp! It touches it 😂just not so much! Cause I don’t want to clog pores gf hacked)✨😊
This is wonderful video! Your hair has to be long enough to braid, a great length, to use grease how you are. My hair is lovely and growing fast and the stylists even say it is. I use sulfur 8 grease or hair food grease that is for growing hair and 3 days a week I use a little oil blend. Once a week I spray hair with green tea with the oils. I get scalp treatments once a month and my hair retwist or curled with rods by stylist. I stopped doing my own hair 3 1/2 weeks a month for spiritual reasons, I don't think it's smart since we can mistakes take our stress on our hair. Good Experts know how much energy to use when twisting hair so not to stress hair out.
I've been natural wll my life and this is exactly how my mama styled my hair. Grease & Water braidouts were my base and she would comb my hair from there.
Anyone low porosity 4a/4b and tried this with success. I'm trying to moisturize and keep it moisturized (w/o coconut). I'll appreciate any help from anyone. Everyone and your family stay blessed and healthy ✝️🙏🛐. Much love 😘
I’m going back to Grease cus the creames seem like it’s making my hair break off. But grease makes me retain length. Ppl say it clogs your scalp idk how true that is, I would just use a clarifying shampoo tho
i use DAX. when you sweat or when your body temperature rises the smell of the dax perfumes the air. it probably the bergamont in it. i love it. do you ever plan on moving to the states? you have a great personality.
I call it simple not lazy😅. If you can style your hair simply, thats awesome girlie. I would love to have that look ❤My understanding of having natural hair should be less complicated. My go to is a wash n go. It usually turns into a high puff in 3/4 days. Im going to try the blue magic i have and see if it'll hydrate my dessert natural hair 😂😂😂
My hair was in the middle of my back as a kid when my mom did my hair and used grease. Then i grew up and started using oils, but not I'm realizing that grease was best for my duper dry scalp and have gone back to buying ue magic
Wow thanks for sharing, lovely hair!! I want to try this but I have many questions!!! 1)How many day does it take for your hair to feel dry again? 2)Do you re-moisturized? 3) if so, do you only spray with water again? Or you do both with the water and grease?
To be honest, I think the dryness of your hair depends on how often you put grease on your hair. For example, I always reapply a little grease whenever I feel like my hair is drying out but always find what works for you Re-moisturizing goes back 2 if your hair dries out then that would be the time to apply more moisture. Lastly when it comes the time to re-moisturize I go in with water & grease but as always find something beneficial that works for you :))
I don't like grease because I have 3b to 3c hair and I find its to heavy for my hair I mostly use light things only butter I like using from time to time is double butter from as I am but thank u for sharing because I still like watching it brings out child memories when my dad used to use blue magic on my hair
My question how to re- moisturize using grease? Because my hair feels nice after a fresh wash, but then 2-3 when I try remoisturize and use grease it doesn't feel so nice
How I started back doing this is...just washing your hair. If you don't use a leave in conditioner and just water and grease and your hair feels dry after 2-3 days, your hair telling you it's time to wash again to add moisture back or you can just wet your hair with warm to hot water so the grease can break up and you repeat your styling process
