Same! The bassline is similar to that of the ‘Broken Gates’ rhythm from Halo 2. They’ve revived that motif and the ‘Ghosts of Reach’ one in tracks such as, ‘Know My Legend’ and ‘Hunter’s Dance’ - The composers did such an amazing job to bring classic and new fans back to Halo. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

when it comes to audio in general everything was nailed in cea

I don't necessarily think it wouldn't have lost people, but I do absolutely think halo 4 should have been a xbox one launch title. Especially since the Xbox one came out so soon after halo 4

@@edquad2765 Heavily agree. I think there was a lot of oversaturation of samey FPS stuff during that time. Having Halo 4 bake for a while would've been the best move, especially under a new company. Plus launching it with the new console would have been hype, (even if the xbox ones launch was atrocious.)

Apparently Halo 4 was supposed to be an Xbox One game, most likely a launch title, but Microsoft wanted it on the 360.

If you want to see it like that you can just pretend halo 4 and 5 never existed, then 343 launched halo wars 2 as a spinoff/sequel to introduce the banished and now we get infinite.

Well halos 2 is meant more to show a change in covenant, as it occurs during the schism in the arbiters perspective.

@@animatedmonkey5882 I'm not sure how you need me to explain this to you but nonetheless...if a piece of music is 'recognisable' or iconic it simply means that a player who has played that game would recognise it if they heard it out of context, and associate it with a particular (likely fond) memory of a moment in said game. Even more so if a person who has never played the game would recognise it out of context. For example, the Halo main theme (and in particular the introductory monk chant) is one of the most iconic and recognisable pieces of music in gaming, alongside other pieces like the original Mario theme, the main theme of Final Fantasy (or the FF crystal theme) etc. These pieces of music have transcended their origin games and genres, and are recognised in a variety of contexts by people that have never even played their respective games. They are also regularly adapted for live performance of orchestras around the world, confirming both their popularity and widespread recognition. UCON is certainly not on the level of those pieces, but within the Halo franchise itself, and particularly Bungie's games, it does play an important role (as I noted, it is the primary motif used throughout Halo 3). I have a very strong recollection of the first time I ever heard the OG UCON . It was quite literally the moment that I fell in love with Halo as a franchise - coming around the corner after the first turret on Truth and Reconciliation, crickets chirping, black chasm below, Threshold and an ocean of stars above, marines at my side. I also remember the second time that it's used in CE - when you're coming out of the underground bridge room in Two Betrayals, this time without a vocals - the chapter title 'Final Run' pops up and you know that you're heading towards the end now, the re-use of the theme serving as an emotional bookend of sorts, allowing you to reflect on the journey that you've been on, and the vocals being stripped out making it sound a bit more sombre, reflecting the mood of what's happened in the story. I could give similar examples for all of this theme's uses in Halo 3. In short, this theme is used for big emotional cinematic moments. The beginning of the final level in the Trilogy, Johnson's death, etc. These are special moments that are forever etched into the hearts and minds of many people who enjoyed Halo's campaigns over the years. Then you have 'Dream Again', which plays...while you're in a dull repetitive corridor shooting some brutes. There is nothing special nor memorable about the moment that it plays, and that particular rendition is itself dull and lacking in intensity or emotion. Maybe to think about it another way - if you were to 'hum' the melody of UCON to a random Halo fan and ask them what it was/when it plays, it's highly doubtful that this is the one they would recall. If you were to play this exact piece and ask somebody when it played, I doubt many would even be able to answer. THAT is why it is not iconic nor recognisable.
