Unpopular opinion: Even though Nemo isn't my favorite to win, it was truly a worthy winner, your vocals, especially in the opera part, are incredible and your song isn't bad at all, so i was well with Switzerland winning
And in the end people shouldnt argue over who wins, be glad your song came into Eurovision and admire the others as much, people nowadays lack that way too much
@@arwidboy9876people act like 2nd place is a bad spot. we in Iceland would, we’ll probably not kill but for the sake of the saying, we would kill to get a top 10 again let alone a 2nd place finish!

@@irynabordiian8240 Lena appeared to be offering this to her friends. He won because he had very strong PR. I am preparing better for April 23. Admit it, maNga was much better. Besides, I thought they were making fun of her voice because it was her own voice, ahaha
This was my first year actually watching Eurovision and voting in it. And I have you to thank Lucas. Because this video two years ago started it all for me. Can’t wait to see the yearly updates to come.
@@ninaginny2519nah your selection process just sucks because it's not that hard to understand why the UK does so bad at Eurovision when you compare music festivals like Melodifestivalen, which goes through months of planning and tons of applications until you get a shortlist of 30 songs that are divided into 6 heats of 5, where 1st and second place of a heat go straight to the final while 3rd and 4th compete in a second chance round where the top 2 again gets sent to the final where 14 songs compete with a 50/50 split vote between the public and a jury that includes international professionals, and then you have the UK that just asks around music labels until they find somebody desperate enough to represent the UK, which is shown nicely this year with Olly Alexander, who joins to boost his solo career and break away from Years and Years, only to fail miserable with 0 points from the televote despite also being the most experienced artist of this year's class
@@dad7493 Not to mention the time they sent Bonnie Tyler and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Bonnie sounded like she'd lost her voice and seemed to have trouble singing.
Years will pass but people will keep arguing who should have won this or that year... Guys it's not sport with seconds and cms to measure! It's a song contest with almost no limitation in genre or format - it will always be about personal tastes and preferences - there can never be an objective winner. That's why it's so easy to play politics or blame politics here. Whereas the best we can do is just have fun and enjoy the unique vibe of this contest. Kudos to all who do!
@@jeremitriusmcstevenson1612Nah, Croatia was just a poor Rammstein copy with nothing unique but Switzerland was a well-produced and unique mix of opera, rap, pop and drum and bass with Nemo having outstanding vocals while literally spinning on a disc. Deserved winner
It's so amazing that some of those songs in 60's and 70's made such impact that still eco today , since they were successes allover the world. Others were forgotten...
@@Morze72 I didn't really pay attention to all the drama around Israel or Joost's disqualification. I tried to enjoy the year as much as possible, and excluding some incidents that happened along the way, I would say this was one of the best contests :)
Greetings from Ukraine! Thank you very much, it is interesting to watch how time changes, history changes, people change, music changes. This video has added another winner. My congratulations to Switzerland for winning this year's song contest, and YES to equal rights for LGBTQ+ persons in Ukraine and the world!🏳🌈 I hope that I will watch the next Eurovision in a country where peace has come.
@@zagorskaewelina Dziękuję bardzo, pozdrawiam ze Lwowa - miasta naszej wspólnej polsko-ukraińskiej historii i kultury 🙂 Również wielkie dzięki Polakom za wsparcie Ukrainy!
😢😢😢😢 the beginning of the decline of Europe - men in skirts. Anyone else surprised by the number of emigrants from the East? Soon, Europe will start wearing the Arab niqab (veil)
Thank you very much, Lucas, for this work of musical history that you update every year and that provides such good times to those of us who still enjoy the Eurovision Song Contest.
I would have preferred to see We Could Be The Same from MaNga to see Satellite from Lena in 2010. That song is one of the best Eurovision songs of all time.
I believe that Switzerland since Eurovision started had very nice songs sometimes they came first and sometimes they came second or third .But I still believe that everyone who went and participated in Eurovision, all these years sang amazingly and I never want Eurovision to stop because it's something very nice.❤
It's so annoying to think that if we hadn't given Luxembourg 12 points we would have had 5 wins today and we would have been one of the biggest countries in Eurovision 🤦
It feels so historical and surreal to have Nemo on that list. Not only did they win and made Switzerland take their third win after 36 years (!!). They received the most successful jury result ever with 84,5% and made it to the top 3 of countries with the most points ever. Only Ukraine (2022) and Portugal (2017) received a higher total score. That's insane. I rooted for Nemo so much and their win made me beyond happy. And I was also very very sure that Croatia was going to win. So I guess that I'm still not 100% recovered from the huge chock I got after the show earlier today. Nemos win made me so proud to see that there are people out there who can be who they are and be proud of it. Nemo really broke the code and showed us that it's okay to be yourself. I can't still believe that this is happening. Congrats to Switzerland for this historical win and we'll se ya'll next year in Switzerland.
I was also so scared that Croatia or France would take it. I really liked France, but Nemo is a special performer. I was so worried the rest of Europe would overlook them. Croatia in particular would have been very sad - it just felt like a copy of Käärijä, but much less impressive. Would have been a shame to see Croatia win this year when Käärijä couldn't win last year. Beautiful performance by Switzerland by a very beautiful artist. Very nervous scoring and was elated to see them take it home.
Çok güzeldi, izlediğim anlarda işte dünya mutluluğu bu olsa gerek dedi! Türkiye yeniden Eurovision'a katılmalı! Çok isteyen var ve eminim gelecek yıllarda katılacağız. Müzisyeler için orada olmak kazanmak kadar değerli!
I love to see how songs style change from time to time. Music has shaped cultures and societies around the world, passed down from generation to generation. It has the power to alter one's mood, change perceptions, and inspire change. 😊
I find it interesting how the contest literally came full circle this year with the first Swiss winner since the first year and the performance this year involved a revolving platform
First winner: Switzerland Most recent winner: Switzerland In an alternate universe (which I honestly could be happy with): Finland won 2023 Croatia won 2024
That would be a little unfair though, some countries' languages are more widely spoken than others, it would give an unfair advantage. For example, the French speaking countries would have a huge edge.
I like to analyze evolution. I detect 3 periods. 1956-1973 Soft and vocal songs. 1974-2001 Lively and vocal songs 2002-2024 Start of extravagance and the show that mixes with the song. What do you think?
I just realized that when Celine Dion won (1988) the thorphy was given to her by Johnny Logan after his second win, and now, Nemo has recivied their trophy by Loreen after her second win. Sometimes Eurovision is very cyclical.
