I remember loving it as a kid because I could get my pick of the desserts, but even back then I wouldn't touch half of what they have in the buffet. Went back a couple of years ago and left hungry.
You are spot on with the Hot Dogs and the steak. But my time in the military has made me appreciate Golden Corral. It was my go-to spot at Fort Lee to save money. Breakfast on my days off, bottomless fried chicken with the boys on Fridays, and unlimited food when I took work home made life worth living. It's not the best. But it certainly helped me make ends meet while filling my belly.
Ah yr va I hit up west broad loc,he should've just ate the roast, chinese chicken, fried chicken, veggies, steak med rare and rolls ..depends which one you go to how good it is I found
As I was watching this, I was thinking my Golden Corral is pretty good, especially for the price. The fried chicken is usually on point, and the meatloaf is usually pretty good, and that fried shrimp is good. The salad bar is usually pretty good too. Come to find out, the Golden Corral you're talking about is the same one I'm thinking about (the one in Colonial Heights, VA). My father retired from Fort Lee. Thank you for your service!
@@kyungwimbush6978 OMG! You're brining back old memories. I will never forget Colonel Heights simply because that Golden Corral was the one right next to that weird lingerie store across the street. But thank you. It was an honor to serve
My daddy took me and my 3 girls to Golden Corral almost every Wednesday for a couple of years when they were little because on Wednesday the cool balloon lady was there. We always had orange sherbet for dessert. Good memories, I miss him so much. Also, Bourbon street chicken and the stuffing for some weird reason were always my favorite after a huge salad.
@@erinemm6 Oh my god, I've NEVER related to someone's comment so much before. Whenever my family goes out to eat, that's the number one place we're almost sure to go to. I've been trying to get my family to try something new for years. 😂🤣
This is how it’s done, correct aspect ratio, audio on point, edits, comedy, quality. Long form is scary for some YT people who only do shorts, my boi SJ definitely gets it. Looking forward to more. Love it and love YOU brotha.
That was the most comedically, disrespectful introduction to a meal. The way you went through flaming each dish was hilarious. 🤣 I peeped "The cake is a lie." IYKYK
As a former Golden Corral employee, I must share the secret of the recipes ; it's made by us (brown people, Black, and Mexican, + way more shades of brown) just not for us.
But y'all are supposed to know how to season 💩 and add flava!!! White people like flavor it's just we never learned how to properly season our food! Thank goodness I was the only white kid in my friend group growing up. Through my friend's parents I was introduced to Goya adobe seasoning and jerk chicken!😂😂😂
It's a bring your owns seasonings type deal, cuz most the people that keep it open are older people with high blood pressure and health issues 😔 fyi the pizza is for the children 🤦🏽♀️
@@user-ei3vu1dp9k That was my thought as well. I figured they'd at least have salt and pepper shakers at the table to get some decent seasoning on some of it.
It was luxury dining back then. I remember because on Sundays it rivaled the infamous Ponderosa. Nowadays they've watered down all the recipes to "cost save" and it's subpar. Quality always wins the race. That's why Cracker Barrel reigns supreme!
The pot roast is my go to as well as the fried chicken. Their mashed potatoes and brown gravy are lovely too and their green beans have excellent flavor. Their salad bar can be top tier but they definitely have good days and bad days. There is some stuff that is crusty or just bland. OH and their weekend breakfast buffet is really good
I hadn't been there in about 6-7 years, but when I went last month it was the meatloaf/pot roast and the mashed potatoes with gravy that saved it for me. Makes me want to go again a lot more than once a decade!😄
We all know after church on Sundays , that Golden Corral is the place to be 😂. Bourbon chicken , grilled chicken, broccoli, mac n cheese, peach cobbler, and ice cream. Yeah I'll have to go hit that breakfast buffet soon 😂
Any all you can eat restaurant I can only get about maybe two plates of food. You want to get your money's worth but you don't want to walk away feeling disgusted.
LOL... $12.95????? HOLY COW!!! I live in BK, NY there are NO Golden Corral's here. For $12.95 you get to smell the aroma of the Breakfast the Food establishments are cooking. Damn just yesterday I was feeling really hungry and generous, so I spent $15.45 to smell some Blueberry Pancakes with Maple Syrup, Sausage, Scrambled eggs on Lox with a Hot Cup of coffee! The smell was to die for!!! Sadly I didn't have the extra $85.99 for the actual meal, but I'm doing overtime this week so I'm gonna get me a bowl of oatmeal and a tall glass of OJ come this payday! For a $12.95 Buffet is a myth to New Yorkers!! I wouldn't care if there was little to no taste, I'd be there "NORM" from CHEERS! LOL... Those of you that have this deal, treasure it.
@@Brandon-ey2ym The BRONX???!!! Oh HELL NO! Everyone from NYC knows the only thing The Bronx is for is The Yankees and to get SHOT! The Bronx is NON GRATA. But thank you for the info.
Golden Corral is for kids like me who grew up (not poor) but had to share a house with 6 other siblings 😂😂. I used to love this place before I grew up and got a job and start exploring other foods.
When you walked by the mystery meat and rice and said "what is that, dog food?" That was one of the best things there. They call it bourbon chicken but whatever it is, it's the only thing I ever got there for.
Omg ive been following you on ig & tiktok forever but this is my first time seeing you on youtube & i was cackling the entire video🤣 subbed even before you told me to lol🙏🏽
I used to go on Sunday mornings as soon as they open. Thats when the buffet is the best, u can create ur own omelette, crispy fried chicken and fish, and its kind of impossible to fck up breakfast food. The best part of all is…there is HARDLY ANYONE THERE!
@@plutotech I did watch the video and he was dogging it out. I don’t think you watched it. Just read the other comments if you don’t have time to watch it.🤷♂️ Most are repeating the jokes he made.
@@plutotechWhat’s your point? His liked one thing? He followed that up with making jokes about the spinach a Mac/ cheese so if you’re keeping score that’s 2-1. He made jokes about the fish, the corn, the meat loaf, the pizza. The title even says HOW BAD IS IT all in caps. Why are you people so defensive about me stating a simple fact?😂😂😂 Most of the comments are repeating his jokes.
My parents would take us to these buffet restaurants so much as kids. Golden Corral, Ponderosa, Hoss's. Probably have not been to any in 15+ years now lol
Golden Corral has a special place in my heart because anytime I visit my grandparents I had to eat there. The food ain’t that at all but the e memories lol.
I don’t go often, but when I do I load up. I always go to Golden Corral right at the tail end of breakfast or right before they start serving dinner so I pay the lunch price to eat lunch and dinner. I always go to Golden Corral for the fried chicken, fried fish, and the salad bar with the imitation crab salad, tuna and chicken salad topped on spinach. Depending on which Golden Corral you go to determines how good the food is, and how clean the restaurant is. In the Houston Metro area, I only go to one that meets those two criteria, and it’s over 30 miles away in Rosenberg. Their steak and both kinds of baked potatoes are good. $20 for the buffet and drink, that’s a darn good deal, and I get full.
