I was always suspicious about Pete's camera being mirrored and now he's confirmed it by wearing a shirt with letters

At some point in the earlier episodes a viewer made the suggestion that I do it so that it looks like I'm looking at the game rather that away

@@FreePete that makes sense. I figured it had to do with stream layout. I'm now curious if there's any science to why being in bottom left looking up/right is meta

I'm a big fan of Freud and Nietzsche and their theories of the mind. Fried believed the old mammalian brain was far more sophisticated than the frontal cortex with millions of years of evolution behind it our basic survival instincts and thought while Nietzsche had a collective consciousness theory

Hey Pete! Great game! I have seen some noob plays before, but this game has some doozies. It was like a caps game I had last night on hte USA map. Everyone was like "Oh please take my cap. I will keep it unguarded/lightly guarded so you can take it." Also, thanks to you, I won my first Europe advanced meta settings game last night. Took me 3 tries, but I finally did it. I am almost an expert now! I could never have done this well without your videos. Have a great day! And good games and good luck!

In all my years of playing, and watching risks. Or any game, for that matter. I have never seem such a magnificent play by blue, shutting you out of that plus two. He's a fucking genius and all shall bow to his reverence.

Dude! I’ve been playing risk for s couple of months now. Almost becoming expert. All based on your content i must add. And your deduction is mind blowing! Capturing that green cap (original blue) might be the best lesson I got from you so far. I know I won’t be able to copy that, but still a killer move! FYI I have a hard time figuring out meta eu caps, my comfort zone is still classic fixed

22:50... why purple didn't kill red and then pink? and then have a 1v1 with you?
@ConClasher3
@ConClasher3 11 месяцев назад
Thought I'd ask since I'm fairly new, how was green's opening something that reflected a noob beginning? It's a big bonus but they could guard the Africa bonus from 2 points which is quite nice long term in a capital game and expand into Europe from there
@OfficialTaxiMaxi
@OfficialTaxiMaxi 11 месяцев назад
on capitals gamemode you want to keep troops on the caps because they give you a plus 2 and defend with 3 dice rather than 2, he left his cap completely open to being taken on turn 1 and if someone took it he would've lost instantly
@UnBalancedBlitz
@UnBalancedBlitz 11 месяцев назад
that, also to reduce your chances of getting killed you would want to stack on your capital. if you stack there you can get card blocked easily in a 1v1, if you leave nothing on capital you are both very vulnerable to someone cap running and your troops are at a disadvantage because of the lack of defensive potential from the cap
@ConClasher3
@ConClasher3 11 месяцев назад
@@OfficialTaxiMaxi So it wasn't really the cap spawn like I thought it was cause he was too aggressive in taking the bonux? Fair enough I didn't really check for that
@FreePete
@FreePete 11 месяцев назад
Taking an interior capital, while not a corner, still doesn't help you much in guarding the bonus he was trying to take. Then he proceeded to take too long to win the bonus meaning he was both weaker than me and he didn't have troops on his cap when I eventually came to take it

You can't control your thoughts, you can manage them.

What we are in control of is what we do about our thoughts
@theinacircleoftheancientpu492
@theinacircleoftheancientpu492 11 месяцев назад
@FreePete Well since you engaged with me on the topic I'll clarify my meaning a bit. I work on the assumption of limited but existing capability for free will. So I think of thoughts as being like water in a sense, you can't manipulate it at will so it would flow uphill, and you can't just dig a channel and expect it to stick to it. Similarly, thoughts follow our perception of the world, and our perceptions seem to be based on value judgements within the environment where we live. Therefore, if one wants to change their thoughts, then by sorting out what they think is important or changing their environment, when the relevant change is made then the thoughts will likewise shift. I would call it management because one cannot make direct changes, but it does seem that indirect changes have clear effects. Of course, what you said is not wrong either. Does that make sense?
