Great stuff as always! I love tourneys but wow the schedule fills out quickly. Between charity events, local events, moneyball/popups, PPA/APP, and then maybe a bucket list event like US Open or Nationals, it is a lot! I thought maybe this year tourneys would start seeing lower numbers due to the amount of tourneys being held, but I think the massive amount of people entering the sport has made that a non-issue. I’m still shocked that Legends and LFG both had fantastic turnouts on the same weekend!
Hi Brian, Christie, and Ryan! Great podcast, but no one could hear me as I addressed your many issues and questions for TDs on my live mic! Of course, that was today, and not during the podcast, lol! And I will totally agree with you Brian - that you never read my emails as I clearly stated that 4.5 divisions were payouts for that tourney! Also, it was fully stated in the tournament info on PBrackets, but you missed that too, lol! Happy to come in and explain my TD philosophy to you and your followers! My ideal partners are the ones that are positive even when u make a silly unforced error. And the worse ones are the ones who do the full body eye roll at the same mistake. Won’t play with those again.
Tournament pricing has really gotten out of hand IMO. This will probably continue to be the case because people keep signing up, but $75 for one day (potentially 3 total games in a double elimination) is just absurd. Most 8 week leagues cost $50-$80 and you get so many more good games.
