Great video. Another thing that I would add. Ider, Alabama is located in an area that is within 30 miles of 3-4 beautiful state parks in Alabama and Georgia. We usually visit a different attraction each time we camp at Thunder Canyon. The website has an "area attractions" section. We went to Cloudland State Park in Georgia the last visit. We also went to a Lavender Farm where you can pick your own Lavender bundle to dry out. If you have not visited yet, book a trip soon. The Fall on Sand Mountain, Alabama is gorgeous. We have a trip booked for November, but we may go back before then.
Beautiful in October and November for sure we visited Chattanooga TN while we were there site 16 close the the huge bonfire they have often. Greetings from NC and just one more mile
Hi John and Mercedes, I recently bought a Chrysler minivan and I'm looking to outfit it as a tinny tiny camper. Would like to visit, do you accept Minivans? Also, have you considered a tiny home village?
I've followed you guys from way back when you started RVing. But I must say I see why you're so proud of your facilities. VERY nicely done! Highly commendable. Wish we were still able to travel.
AZ! Northwestern AZ. 10 minutes to Lake Mead launch ramp. 20 minutes to the Grand Canyon. The SKY WALK! Zero minutes to Desert trails for hiking, off road ing with SxS, Quads, Jeeps. We live here! Let me know if I can tell you more… We would love to be involved!
Wow I’m so impressed how God has been using you to expand and beautify your place. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of another campground that has done what you have done with membership, involving the participation members, and purchasing sites, and on and on. Very innovative. And even allowing them to have their own gardens. Nice!
I want to come see you all so bad this Autumn. I am 503 miles away from Thunder Canyon. I have 2 large dogs and two old cats. The cats belonged to my dad that passed away in 2019. I think time in this world is running out. Thank God. ❤
Oh my God, what an absolutely incredible, spectacular RV park, the best I have ever seen! You guys have done amazing things with Thunder Canyon, all that you have created blows me away! We have to book a week or so with you! A really great video of a fabulous creation!
Oh my gosh, you two! What an absolutely BEAUTIFUL oasis in this maddening current times! You’ve thought of just about everything that would make the RVer’s stay the best it could be. Wow. I love the idea of total security, large and open sites, reasonable prices, and your gardens…!🩷 The amount of work that it took to make Camp Gratitude is so evident. Top quality, top notch everything. As word spreads, you’ll have to add-on even more rv sites! Super kudos to the both of you! Love Ya, Virginia
Can not wait to have the time to come and visit. I have been following since your start in your 1st rv , seem like only a year but it has actually been many years already. As much a I loved watching you travel and make mistakes without hiding them or the struggle, I really like your new adventure and the similar life style that I'm waiting to start.
What a great job. The gardens and chickens are wonderful. Now you need Alpine goats. 😊 I love Alpine goats. Their milk is great plus they eat the brush. (Ps they are not lawn mowers, you need sheep for that.) Love everything and can't wait to see how God continues to Now with you. ❤🙏
Been following since the beginning of your journey. I cant believe how far you've come? Hubby is retiring in the next year or so. Visiting Thunder Canyon is at the top of my bucket list!!! See you soon & Godbless! 🙏
Amen brother! I don't usually comment, but U just brought tears to my eyes watching Mercedes, I remember how staunch she use to be, especially when you got your Jesus moment! I love you guys! I started following you guys I believe I was like in the 600's when I subed with you. Continue your work, God see's what your doing! God bless! Would love to live there. Beautiful place
Im not religious but if I had a camper Id totally live at the Canyon. Looks like a peaceful place with terrific people that look out for one another and love the red white and blue. My kind of folks. And I like the emphasis on security at the gate. Plus I bet most of them steaders are packing some heat!
Great video. You covered it all. And Camp Gratitude is even better than you described. Anyone watching this make your plans to come visit. You will not regret it!
This is incredible!! I started watching you guys a few years ago when my husband and I were debating buying an RV. I remember when you first came across Thunder Canyon and prayed on it and decided to buy it. What a blessing!! It’s beautiful. You can see the amount of work that y’all have put in, so impressed!! Love from Arizona.
Love to see the animals and that you are growing food and plants! Great job! Beautiful nature! And the whole thing sounds so much more exciting than wasting life in trains communiting in public transports here in Germany :D Try to give more space to the caged animals if you can. Loved this video, very inspiring!
I truly enjoyed this video. I have been watching you guys since the beginning and never did I think y’all would end up 1 mountain away from me. One day I would love to come visit just to see where y’all have taken this campground. I wish you great success and know with the way you are handling this gift it will truly prosper!
I'm so happy for you guys. I pray for all your sucess. I'm selling my home in September and hope to buy my RV this year. I am hoping I will visit yours by next year.
You know that I've watched your Journey. For a long time I am so proud where you guys all because of your faith and God and prayers thank you for sharing your journey
Your RV park looks amazing guys. Your garden is so impressive and beautiful. The park looks so clean and wonderful. We can’t wait to come and visit, when we get on the road next year. Who knows we may call your park home for a while. Blessings to you both and Sage.
I’m truly impressed with what you two and your members have accomplished! We bought a small parcel of land here in CA around the same time you did. Been watching since before Thunder Canyon, and can’t wait to see what else you add! Hopefully one day we will trek far enough to see you!
Great video. Your plan looks great! I signed up as a member when this started to support you all, but haven't been able to make it up there from GA. Soon!
What a GREAT PLACE. I cant wait till my Peak Mountain Camp is completed. And I can stop in for a visit. I'm kinda of jealous too. My family's campground had a vision like yours. But got shut down cause of health issues in our family. You guys are rockin it for the LORD! Keep it up! Hope to see ya soon!
With your positive attitude and hard work, you'll do just fine. Maybe someday, we'll make it down there to see your accomplishments. Best of luck and may God Bless you and yours.
Thanks, so much, you two, for the tour of Thunder Canyon! What a Beautiful place that God has blessed you to enhance (and enhancement is what you DID!!). It's terrific that you are encouraging people to homestead--longterm there!! I can imagine the size it could become!! Though I've never gardened in my life, until about 4 years ago, I have Really enjoyed growing certain produce in containers: Romaine lettuce; onion bulbs; okra; and recently, bell peppers! Being someone who has thoroughly enjoyed camping since a small child, and esp. since I have found the rewards to growing my own food, I can see myself, someday as a part of Thunder Canyon!!! For a good while, I have enjoyed your videos and look forward to someday meeting you! Love, from North Carolina!
Wow, a lot of changes and improvements since I was last there, I think it was 2 years ago. John and Sage gave a great tour and it was mostly in the planning stages back then. Kudos to you all for all the work! I'm between RV's right now due to a pesky medical situation that is being obstinate and not healing as expected..... yet. Got a lead though on another one, or maybe I'll rent the Taj Mahal 5th wheel, formerly known as the John, Mercedes and Sage mobile castle. Take care and God Bless all of you.
I believe I’ve been following you two since you’ve started your channel. Absolutely enjoyable you’re definitely my kind of people. Very rarely do I comment but for some reason today,,, I just wanted to say great job and keep it going.. Slipped in on your donation link and was happy to contribute..
Hey guys! Are you open to Solar and battery storage?? Your property and your long term area is so awesome!!! You have enough space to add a good size solar farm to offset some energy expense. Maybe make a clearing where the sun shines all day that's not unsightly? Just a thought. We plan on visiting soon. God Bless!!!
Looks very nice. I used to travel to your neck of the woods for the Balloon Festival in Huntsville back in the 80s and 90s. We search out family owned campgrounds and prefer those. We’ll keep y’all in mind of we get out in that area.
🎉Very nice we will have to get down there someday soon. Wife is having a second open heart surgery in October but hopefully as soon as she recovers we can get there. Been following your journey from the beginning. God Bless You.🙏🙏🙏
Your place is on my bucket list. I would love to homestead there. But it looks like you are a bit for from a hospital. I’m a nurse. Your crowd is the place I would love to hang with on election night . God is doing something big in this country.
Wow, how you guys have grown, it's amazing. I was a fan for quite some time then I met you guys here in Tampa Florida at the Wing House. I've been watching your progress and I'm very impressed. I will be looking to rent a trailer for a week visit. I would love to go for a week with my wife and check your place out in person. That's an incredible achievement. Congratulations, and God bless you ! Yaaaarrr !
Hey Guys, Awesome video again! I am a Northwest Alabamian. I would love to come see some of those Mountains on the way to camp there. Never been to Ider, AL. Love y'all
I must say this is my favorite video, or at least in the top five coming to Thunder Canyon has been on my bucket list from the beginning, I really thought I was going to actually make it happen but life had other plans I just recently got diagnosed with breast cancer I have to go at the end of the month for a double mastectomy and even though I have insurance I'm going to be without work I'm not going to be able to financially come visit I'm so disappointed😢 But just know I am there in spirit
Love your campground. Love, "makecaminggreatagain". Wish we were closer. One day, we would like to make a trip from Cheyenne Wyoming. Love your videos.
Love your channel and your values! I'm curious about what the Alabama winters are like...are the winters suitable for Canadian snowbirds escaping the snow and cold... who are chasing 70 degrees? Let me know as I'm very intrigued. Thank you.
